I have been shopping at New 2 You when it was called Harvest Christian Thrift in Calumet City. I loved going there. The prices couldnt be beat. The staff was friendly and helpful. I knew many of them by name. Since its moved, I only know 2 staffers by name, and these 2 are the most welcoming people on the new staff. Joyce is in the book section. I have seen her talk to her "customers" about books and their book preferences. I have purchased a few books in great condition. I sometimes sit at the table and browse the cookbooks, listening to her interactions with customers. Geneva seems to know every customer by name. She greets customers like an old friend frequenting her house. She know whats in stock and is will take you directly to the object you are looking for. She greets you at the door with a smile, and takes time to talk to different customers. But " POOR CUSTOMER ALERT"....I have been standing in the shoe section and heard staff at the register talk about customers and other "?staff" members. I have seen them follow people of color around the store as if they were going to steal. I saw the staff actually ask for a receipt of a African-American who just left the register. They did not ask for my receipt or the gentleman in front of me when we left a few minutes later. Yes, the store has great housewares, furniture, and clothin for my grandchildren), but the way I have seen their staff follow blacks and hispanics around and talk loudly about their own people is ridiculous. The "christian" music plays over the speakers while these people offend me and my money. I dont think I will give these people my green money. Thanks, Joyce and Geneva!!!!!! You two are the best!!! .....but the BUCK stops here.

I used to love this thrift store I thought everyone was friendly I had heard weird comments from some of the volunteeres there but nothing that had made me uncomfortable but I realized someone there is racist they follow u around worser than the malls and stores I thought it was funny having them all over the store following because i was wishing they did said something stupid im tired of racist people thinking u r afraid to respond back I will always stand up for myself because we r all equals n I only saw them after Hispanics. Worst experience ever !!!!!!!!!

Nice resale store. Relatively decent prices; less expensive than the local Goodwill store. Large selection of books. Clothes organized well and makes browsing easy. Friendly staff. Awkward parking. The hours are limited which makes it somewhat difficult to just drop by.

The GREATEST thrift stores in the area!! Store feels open. Organized very well! Lots of room in the aisles! Friendly folks help unload my donations...Always FRIENDLY!! Cant go wrong...just come check it out for yourself...you decide! You will not be disappointed.

This is great thrifty store.. a bunch of schools in Lansing got together opened up the store, the parents donate their time and all the money goes towards the kids Schools Athletic departments, uniforms, trips etc. Very reasonable price..Will be back.
