Horrible shopping experience today, witnessed an African American woman being treated disrespectfully by an undercover merchandise recovery employee. I will never shop at the Walmart in Gurnee, IL again and you shouldnt either. I was nearby and heard the interaction between the shopper and merchandise recovery employee. This poor woman was in tears after purchasing several hundred dollars worth of merchandise and than accosted by this person in such a way broke my heart. I was so disturbed by the incident that I left my items in the cart and left the store and vowed never to shop at that store ever again. Regardless of what actually happened, ( I concede that I didnt see the actual transaction at the register) this situation couldve been handled more discreetly with minimal disruption to shoppers and curtesy to the lady who had just purchased an overflowing cart of merchandise. Instead the police was called and they loudly threatened to arrest this woman without having all of the facts. Mistakes happen, one time at a Walmart I forgot that I hadnt paid for water that I had placed at the bottom of my cart. After purchasing my items I left the store, while at my car I noticed the water and returned to the store explained what had occurred, purchased the water and left. What happened to that woman today couldve been me. It also left me with a feeling of deep heartache for that womans experience.

Your experience here is really based on who is working for the day if you choose to have an employee check you out versus self check out. Ive had multiple visits where the cashiers were talking loudly and yelling over to each other from different registers while cashing you out, which means they are clearly not paying attention to what they are doing causing your check out to take much longer than necessary. Ive also witnessed a cashier gang up on an elderly co worker with two others shaming, ridiculing and harassing her. I had to speak with management because the incident was completely out of line. Ive been having issues with multiple products being expired so take extra care to check dates before you put in your cart. Ive come to find that if Im able to use self check out due to the amount of groceries I have, then that is definitely the way to go. If you are looking to buy liquor its best to complete that purchase in the liquor section versus taking it to the front as most of the workers Ive experienced are under age and youll have to wait for a manager which can be timely on a busy day.

This whole town sucks. People cannot drive. No one knows that you cannot bring an entire cart of groceries to the self checkout. Pedestrians feel free to walk in front of traffic. The stoplights have illegal traffic cameras. There are more toll roads per capita here than any other US location (which are complete trash, riddled by traffic and potholes). Why do people live near Chicago? Get the hell out while you can. Also, this walmart sucks. The old lady in the liquor department is awesome though. Check out with her only.

Waited 15 minutes in line with 3 items only to be told at the register that they didnt know how to enter the code for my tax-exempt form and to go to customer service. So I go to customer service only to wait another 15 minutes as the two incompetent workers take their sweet time with the two people in front of me. By that point two people behind me dropped their items and left. When one of the workers at the two open customer service registers left, so did I. Dropped my items where I was and bought them at Target.

This has got to be the worst Walmart in the area. Please go to the Gurnee or Zion location! This Waukegan location is so unprofessional. The deli department workers are always loud, yelling, & swearing at oneanother! The staff are rarely around to help yet when you aee them they are in pairs gossiping! & the checkout lines! Oh my goodness, long, & unfriendly. They have more self checkouts available, but they have post its stated no cash OR no credit or debit cards! This place needs an overhaul! Goodbye!

This is the same store I used to shop at when I lived in Gurnee. Back then, it was a small hometown store. It has grown up and is now a large Supercenter. It also has a Sams Club right next door. The store was clean and had nice merchandise on display. The cashier, Alicia, was very friendly and efficient. The only negative I could give was they had a lot of dead plants outside at the front of the store. You could tell they had not been watered. If not for that I would have given them 5 stars.

Overall the store is clean and organize, however the wait time and cashier lines are too long and too few. They have many lanes but only open a very small amount of them. Even the express (20 items or less) you can spend 20 minutes. Also be aware of Alcohol purchases, usually only the Manager can approve either due to under 21 cashier or they havent taken the course to sell alochol. Your wait time can go up to 40 minutes. Just waiting for a manager. Very understaffed

I give this location a 5 star because they offer the Wal-Mart pick up and its seriously the greatest service! Every staff member that Ive worked with have always been very friendly and if she only helpful. I use this service at least once a week. Saves a lot of time and I dont have to deal with the typical check out lanes at Walmart. I would most definitely recommend that service to anyone.

Compared to other Walmart in my area, this is a tall move store very clean, organized and not do crowded to where your in line checking out for 3 hours. I think the way there layout is, is alot more efficient then most Walmart. Also they employees that work at jewelry ate extremely nice and went way way way out of there way to help my boyfriend and I Would def recommend this store.

I used to live in Gurnee and went to this Walmart quite often. I didnt realize how good it is until I compares to other Walmart in Chicagoland area after I moved away. Ive went to other 4 walmart and see the difference for sure. Need to stop by when Im in the town again to stock up some great Hageland Chocolate only sold in this Walmart soon.

Walk arount teibg to find items we need at home they where out of just about everything. Once we got to the front end to check out there was 8 lines open all 10 people deap it took over 30 minutes before could buy our thing and get out. All the while they never open any more lines. What a piece of garbage walmart store

Not quite as large as a full Supercenter, so some food items are not very plentiful. The meat selection, is an example of this. I generally find a better selection at the Antioch Supercenter. However, this store is very convenient because of its next-door location to Sams Club, and their newly opened gas station.

All sorts of stuff for all sorts of people. Theres a pharmacy, a Subway Restaurant, a Vision Center for eye care needs. They offer appliances, DVD & Blu-Ray discs, garden stuff like potting soil, tools, pots and plants, home improvement items, party planning stuff, clothing. And did I mention its a supermarket?
