If you love to cook and eat quality food, this place is for you. Before shopping here the first time I couldnt imagine why someone would go to a store with just olive oil and vinegar - but after shopping here for years I cant imagine NOT buying these quality products here regularly. Olive oils and vinegars are not created equal...the fresh olive & infused oils and vinegars are fantastic for salads, cooking, baking or even for finishing dishes. (I add spicey parmesan garlic as a finishing oil to almost everything!) We love the variety of balsamic vinegars and glazes and use them to make outstanding salads, bruschettas and even desserts. They have a variety of gourmet dry rubs that we use for roasting or even smoking fish and meats. The staff is excellent - very knowledgeable, especially Rick & Kathi (the owners).

Every time I visit Long Grove, I make it a point to stop by The Olive Tap. Its a great place to sample a wide variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. They offer the traditional flavors but they also offer some very unique blends. Every friend that I have brought to the Olive Tap absolutely loved the dark chocolate balsamic vinegar. Most of them actually bought a bottle. Its got a rich chocolate flavor that isnt too overpowering, combined with the tangy balsamic vinegar, it makes for a really unique combination that would work well for meats and fruit salads in particular. The service is great, the ladies there are very helpful and do give really good suggestions on how to use the oils and vinegars, they also make good recommendations on pairings as well.

This shop had the absolute worst service ever. My cousin asked a woman with blonde hair for a sample of some bread with a type of oil or liqueur and the woman just looked at her, looked at me and gave me a strange look. Because of this, I left immediately. I will never go to this place again.
