My problems werent with the shop, it was with the seamstress I had. Do not let Laura Withall alter your dress there! She doesnt know what she is doing and she lies! She messed up my alterations numerous times. I had to complain about her and get the manager involved. I ended having 6 or 7 fittings just to get everything right. Another seamstress had to tell her what to do to fix the problems she created. She tried to lie and tell me that once I steamed my dress the "Bunching" on the side of my dress would lay flat. Then when the manager was around she tried to say she didnt even know about the bunching and that I needed to speak up. Luckily, my mom recorded every session so I was able to prove to the manager that she is indeed a liar because I complained about it in the prior session. Every time the manager left she told me once it was steamed another issue would go away. I asked the manager and she said no, steaming would not fix the problem. She made my dress too tight at one point and even though Im skinny and dont have back fat, the dress made it look like I did. I complained about it, but she told me its fine. The other seamstress had to tell her to take it out before she finally did. This was over 2 months later. Theres just so much I could go on about her. She doesnt listen to your concerns and will lie about it to try and cover her ass. So just to avoid the headache, if they put you with her immediately ask for another seamstress. The other ones from what I saw knew what they were talking about. I hated that I had to pay her and I dont think she deserved full payment at all, but I hate causing trouble so I paid.

This shop is the kind they warn you about. They pushed a defective dress on me, and then tried to get me to pay money out of my own pocket to fix it. Shopping for the dress was fine, but the trouble started when I came in for my first fitting. The dress was obviously made wrong: lace missing from the bodice, too short (couldnt wear heels, and Im average height), and the entire top was misshapen. I tried to bring my concerns up with the staff, and not one person would even look at the dress or make eye contact with me. Two salespeople (who seemed to look over my shoulder) told me all sales were final, and the seamstress would have to make it right. The seamstress quoted me at $400 to fix the defective dress. I was so upset, crying in the store, and my mom was comforting me, when a salesperson walks up and reminds us that we still $750 on the rest of the dress. How thoughtful. After multiple phone calls and photographic evidence, they agreed that something was wrong with the dress and they asked me to come back in for another fitting. I said I didnt trust them, the saleswoman on the phone laughed, and said "Well you dont have any other options." After two more phone calls, my money is coming back to me via a check in the mail, because to refund my credit card theyd charge me a 3% service fee. In the end, I never received an explanation, nor an apology.

I have no idea what these people are talking about. This place is absolutely horrible! Mind you I never leave reviews but had to for this atrocity of an experience. Went in for a fitting and was treated like a regular joanne off the street. What is this special treatment and knowleadgable associates im hearing about? No returns or exchanges (things can happen people that is just a part of life) and on top of it all the associate ordered a whole size and a half too big.Hmmm I wonder why? Could it be because they want customers to come back and alter their items there? If you want the stuffy atmosphere of this so called "boutique", along with the stuffy associates, this is the place to go. By the way, the dresses they carry there can be bought elsewhere if you take the time to do the research not to mention for considerably less $...unless of ofcourse $ is no object then you can blow your money on a mediocre dress thats worth half of what they charge simply because The Crappy Bride is in the center of trendy Geneva and ose to where you live. Oh the beauty of a Fox Valley "boutique". It comes with the territory. So, do your homework, drive the extra mile and do not settle for this place.

This was the only store I went to when I was wedding dress shopping. Having never bought a bridal gown before, I was both nervous and unsure of myself and my choices. I was assisted by Chante, who was incredibly attentive, honest, and overall one of the most helpful consultants Ive ever had the pleasure of working with in any retail. She quickly picked up on the styles that worked for me and the patterns that I liked without me ever explicitly telling her -- she was so good at recognizing when I really liked something versus when I wasnt sure. I found my gown in less than 2 hours, and I cant be happier with it. Chante was so amazing to work with and I dont think I would have found my gown the way I did without her or the Crystal Bride. If you are a bride looking for your wedding gown, definitely check this place out. Their staff is kind, courteous, and helpful and you wont be disappointed with their selection.

Crystal Brides the best place to shop bridal in the Fox Valley. There was such a big selection of bridal, bridesmaid, and Mother of the Bride. The staff at front desk was so pleasant . The atmosphere was so clean, organized, and spacious. We were shown all the dresses upstairs which is so spacious. We didnt have to compete with anyone. We were the only party with Shawna. She listened to what we were looking for and had some selections already for us. She was never interrupted. Gave suggestions for headpieces. Found the perfect dress. The Essence line had many options such as measuring to near exact length. Could have with or without bottom lace. Shawna was so knowledgeable. I sew professionally and she had all the right answers about sizing and fit. I tell everyone who comes my way. This is the the most stress free place to look at bridal. No rushing, no shortage of space. I would give it 10 stars .

We were generally pleased with the pricing and unobtrusive service. A warning: If you are thin, make sure they measure your chest below the bust and not just your waist. Two of my bridesmaids ended up with dresses that fit uncomfortably, because their waist measurements were used as a substitute for torso circumference even though they are thinner in the waist than in the ribcage. One of my them came in for a fitting, and the saleswoman insisted that the dress fit perfectly, even though my bridesmaid told her that she was uncomfortable and couldn’t breathe. We did appreciate, however, that they were able to arrange last-minute alterations for us.

I saw one reviewer who complained about being snapped at for picking a dress for her sister. I had the opposite experience - I tried on about 10 dresses and a BM picked one for me to try...the salesperson was WONDERFUL *nancy - who owns the salon* found me the dress in a size that would fit, and its the one I am wearing in my wedding! (less than 1500 dollars) We also had a GREAT time picking out BM dresses and my mom and flower girl all purchased their dresses here. We are all in the alterations process right now and couldnt be more delighted!!
