If there is Less than 1star... A very very unpleasant experience with one of the staff at jewel osco fox lake location., an Amanda Harvey ruined my experience with this store. I go there almost everyday and this weekend my wife did groceries and since it was so crowded, she did not wait for her receipt because the receipt machine jammed. We decided to visit the store the following day so we can collect our monopoly cards and happened to speak to this girl Amanda Harvey she acted as a decision maker at that time.. we gave her the amount of the groceries$150.12 to be exact since we wrote a check and the time and the cashiers station ... She was soo unconcerned and said she cant find it but she will speak to the staff to confirm that the machine did jam and we dont have the receipt she took our name and number but no word/no call. Today I spoke to her again while I was checking out to find out if she resolved my issue and she told me that she could not help me I asked her again at the customers station and told her that I spend $40-$45k a year in that store- is there anyway she can help me out and she bluntly said there is NO way. I told her thank you and she turned away and sarcastically sounded with some arrogance saying your welcome. That did it for me and went home and got my wife and we both went back to the store. She was showing another staff how to work the return of another customer so we waited patiently... My wife then asked her if she had spoken to anyone and she is soooo RUDE and very disrespectful that my wife had to simply ask her if there is anyone above her that we can speak to. While my wife is talking to her another staff passed by and she completely turned to the other staff finding out if shes going to punch out... She even raised her point finger as a gesture "to hold on a second" Unbelievable what a customer service representing JEWEL OSCO I never knew this entire time that Jewel Osco has staff like her. My wife left her alone and THANK GOD Jeanie came and she is a manager., she was heading out already but did not hesitate to solve our issue it did not take more than 5-10 mins Jeanie found our receipt and we were out the door. If there is more sincere customer service like the manager Im sure there would be less complain. I just can not imagine that an Amanda Harvey could think to disrespect not only a paying customer but another individual with such arrogance. She should not be dealing with customer relations or interact with costumers at all. I was speechless when she raised her finger at my wife just to speak to another staff passing by. Very rude, disrespectful, and arrogant girl. Watch out for her! And I will no longer patronize jewel Osco if the store condones this kind of behavior. I will give my business somewhere else. Amanda Harvey gave me wrong information we got 32 monopoly cards while all along Amanda is telling me she cant help me she could have pulled out transaction Amanda needs more than just training on how to treat and respect paying customers as well as learn courtesy.

Great architecture here as this Jewel has won various awards for its designs. Unfortunately the management is under stress and therefore offer very little reason to visit or patronize this Jewel establishment. Yes there is the occasional pizza deal, fresh fruits, free coffee samples, and a deal on 6x4 photographs. Yet the problem exists where you really can not recommend this specific Jewel because of the way the management behaves, Basically they are idiots who in many ways wish to remain so. Take Vicki for example... heres one who really needs to get laid by a stray carrot razor. And this guy Joe who is another pea in the pod as he admits that he will read a customer survey review to a wonderful young cashier knowing that he himself is disturbed by the survey for no apparent reason. Null point I say Joe-your an idiot. Then there is Wendy who under any other circumstances would be a charm to chat with yet once again the stress of being in management has even spoiled her good nature. Steer clear of this Jewel, ITs likely to be closed down soon and change hands. Perhaps a Piggly Wiggly will come this way or something of that nature. Remember that prophecy calls for only 12 Jewels and they are specifically located in the State of Missouri. One for each month of the year.

Went to the jewel this week and their organic celery had a worm crawling on it. Showed it to the produce gentleman.He picked the worm off of the celery and walked away. I proceeded to go through the rest of the celery purchased best choice never should of. Wish I could post a picture. Shop their only when I have no other choice. This is why , has happened 3 times now finding bugs there on produce or when I get home. Throwing celery away hoping I dont have bugs in my refrigerator. Never again

Wow, dont go here on a Saturday evening. Ive never seen a group of employees so unpleasant or unhelpful. After waiting at the self checkout lane for 5 minutes, while the Assistance Needed signal was going off, I finally had to track someone down. a woman about 20 feet away, who could have been less interested in helping me out. With this economy, one would think they could find a employees that actually WANT to have a job. I really miss Dominicks.

They had everything I need but they charged me more for all of it. 3 vs 2 stars ONLY because they have more cashiers than automated lanes still. As they shift those numbers here, as they have other locations, to push automated lanes- I will stop going here all together. EMPLOYEE PEOPLE and get competitive in your pricing or your will fade away like Dominicks and now Sears..

I have always seen the employees go above and beyond to help! The people in the pharmacy are not only knowledgeable but also very kind and helpful. This is one of they few stores around that actually knows what customer service means. Thank you guys for all you do and the hard work you put in!!!!

This store seems dirtier than most others I visit. The cashier was very uninterested in the customers in her line. She hollered over to a woman about trading shifts for the weekend and then actually picked up the phone to discuss it while she still had customers in her line.

Because I work there and I take care of the wet rack.. Fresh,Fresh.. I get a lot of compliments from customers!!.. I have been told from them, that they have come back to Jewel for the work I and Carol Miller do.. We take pride in our work..

Great deli section. They have a big salad and soup bar. Layout of the store is not my favorite. Can be hard to find things. Cashiers are nice. Stockers need some customer service skills.

I have been to several Jewel-Oscos, but the one in Fox Lake is the one I prefer. The staff is polite and the store is very clean. They have a good selectIon of food and sundries.
