growing op on the NW side of Chicago Butera was a local staple for great fresh meat, deli, produce and international fare. When i first moved to this area there was an Eagle grocery in this location but closed within weeks. then, i learned that there was a Butera in downtown Elgin, which wasnt particularly convenient for me... so, when this Butera opened i was delighted! its walking distance from me and is my go to for last minute needs as well as deli and fresh cuts for the grill... and i have to mention that their fresh chorizo is GREAT!

There has been a marked improvement in the quality and selection of this butera in the past year. You can find top quality Italian, German, Polish and Asian cuisine items for sale here. The meat and deli department are still wanting in quality, but since they acquired Joe Caputo and sons, I only expect it to improve.

Clean store, friendly staff and now they have dry Mexican chorizo which makes me happy because I dont have to drive to the other side of Elgin to the other location to purchase it. That was the only reason I went to the other Butera for the dry chorizo.

Prices are competitive. Employees dont demonstrate customer service experiences and the website states the Elgin store closes at 10 however it closes at 9. A few website updates basix CSR training and this wpuld be a rop grocery store in Elgin.

Great prices on their selection of meat (beef, pork, chicken), good variety of food. Other stuff can be pricey (pop mainly). Cereal may seem like its on a good sale but boxes are smaller than other places like walmart.

This Butera has very limited options, as compared to a Jewel. Its close to work though, so its convenient when I forget to bring a lunch or dont want take out.
