Epco is probably the highest priced distributor of Hunter Douglas shades (try Costco for the best price). You would think that their higher price was justified by good services, but you would be wrong. Recently, my Hunter Douglas shade spontaneously broke. Epco sent it in to be fixed, but forgot to tell me they would charge $40 to ship it. They said it would be fixed in 2-4 weeks. Six weeks later, I phoned them to find out what happened (their phone system also doesnt work well...if no one is in the shade department, it hangs up on you; the store manager says it cant be helped, they cannot fix the phone). Turns out the shade was there, and had been there for several weeks. When I complained, they said they called. They also didnt open it to find out if it had been fixed. When I insisted that they open it, it turned out that it was still broken. Dont do business with Epco if you want good service.

I am a JC Licht/Epco regular. I have run a small painting business for 30 years. The guys at JC Licht are the best. Great service, dependable color mixing, and they get me in and out if the store in a timely manner. Tony the manager is top notch. His staff is the best around. Always a good experience at Evanston JC Licht.

I called and asked for wallpaper ... Then asked "who do you recommend install what Im buying?" Answer: "its against company policy for us to recommend that." What??? Thats amazing. $30 / yard and I guess I have to put it up myself.
