So I recently brought in my 2002 Honda cbr 600 f4i for service,I needed a new camshaft tensioner, front tire and brakes, and a 16k service.and told me I should get my bike back in a week or so.during the week it was being worked on I get a call from fred,he was saying it didnt need the camshaft replaced,it was the chain, thinking to myself,I did know it was loose but all seemed okay but I took his word for it,with the reviews on here I said sure.so then another week goes by,so I called about a week later saying it was the camshaft,I knew it was because if a camshaft tensioner goes it sounds like b.bs in a can shaking loudly.so now he questions the parts I gave him to change it,strongly recommending Honda automatic tensioner (notorious for failing)And I kept saying install the ape tensioner as the f4i forums recommend to do so.then he says the bike will be ready,so I wait at home for the call to get it,never happened.then I call Saturday asking for fred,Marco answered saying fred will call me back as he is with a customer which also never happened.eventually they called Tuesday at 510pm that I could get it,I told them it will have to wait since I had to go to work.i get it saturday, costing 914 dollars!(way overpriced for a tensioner, tire and brake replacement and I said no to their 16k service because of that)riding it home sitting in traffic it stalls, when I inspected the bike at home,I noticed my power commander was unplugged.which is making the motorcycle not run properly since I have a race exhaust and a k@n filter on it,which it will not run without it being programed.upset I was I called then back.marco answered,I told him what happened,he said he will talk to the tech and when he talked to me after a second he said the tech didnt know there was a power commander on the bike, which I didnt get as theres a power cord linked to the battery saying DYNOJET on it at the battery terminal.i told him that version of a power commander has a serial port, you cant plug it in to a modern laptop, they would either have to replace it or pay for a tuning shop to do it,even then the motorcycle was dynotuned on top of that.which is all gone.he said to call dynojet and get software for it.so I did, they stopped all software and firmware for it,saying I have to upgrade my unit.or find a shop that has it to be programmed.i dont get that how didnt they know it wouldnt be stalling if they didnt test drive it before giving it back, and I also noticed that the gas tank key has a hard time opening now, with some weird glue paste to it.which I was able to fix.i now have to either call the general manager or corporate now since they keep saying call dynojet, you did this not me.will not be returning.

All-around a horrible experience yesterday at Des Plaines Honda. Felt like I was at Dave and Busters (playing games).. I’m in the market for a Honda Ruckus so I have been calling around seeing what these are going for. I found out DP Honda had a used Metropolitan so I thought I would be able to make a bundle deal for both a Ruckus and the Metro. I talked to Eric the “salesman” a few times on the phone trying to get him to give me a price for both. All he kept saying “you have to come in, you have to come in, I don’t want to give you a good price and have you take it somewhere else..” It turns out the Metropolitan sold over the weekend but they still had two Ruckuses in stock so I decided to drive down and see if we could make a deal. I showed up with cash in hand and the first thing Eric told me was the Ruckus MSRP is $2880 and if I put $100 down, my payments would be $80/month.. No details on loan term, rates, etc.. just a monthly payment on an inflated MSRP. I never even told him I was looking to finance the thing! Let the games begin! I proceeded to tell him the MSRP EVERYWHERE is $2570 and even pulled it up on the Des Plaines Honda website to show him.. He called the manager over and asks “can you believe this? How can this be? The MSRP on our site shows $2570..??” Then Eric tells me they make their profit by marking it up from the MSRP (like that’s what they buy it for) and tried to explain to me what MSRP means, completely contradicting himself.. I explained to him I have been in sales for 10 years and am very familiar with MSRP, and no way am I entertaining his crazy 2880 MSRP. Eric goes and talks to the manager again and comes back to the table. “ Today is your lucky day” he says. “We’re able to do $2499 plus $300 delivery charge, after all, we have to pay to ship it here from Japan.. plus $150 doc fees, plus title, taxes, etc..”. The total price out the door on my “lucky day” was $3303.23! So basically by getting me in the dealer, he knocked off $71 off the 2570 MSRP and acted like that was making me a great deal. NO THANK YOU! Save yourself the time and insist on getting a price over the phone and you’re not coming in unless they give you a reasonable price. Thanks for reading!

This dealership has some of the most helpful and pleasant people I have ever dealt with. I was shopping around for a CBR650F and went back and forth negotiating a price with them for a bit. I have always been skeptical of salesmen (Ive heard horror stories) but after some research and looking around, I found they gave me a very reasonable price. These guys have a lot of integrity and they are very straightforward, honest and they want to help you. My buying experience was as good as it gets. I have no experience with bikes at all, and TC was very patient explaining different accessories and what they do. Jesse was the salesman who did all he could to make sure I would be able to buy the bike I wanted. Bill explained to me more about the pricing, as well as the different fees and what goes into buying a bike. Mike sat down with me to finalize the paperwork and answer more of my questions as well as tell me some interesting stories. The guys at the service department explained how the bike works and what I should expect. They all worked to accommodate to my schedule, and all stayed late to finish my purchase. They are very friendly. They earned my trust, and they focus on making the experience for you, the customer, as good as it gets. I am very grateful to have bought my bike from these guys, and I recommend anyone looking to buy a bike to give them shot.

I came to buy a motorcycle and tried to finance. The same day this place looked into my credit and saw that I have 670 credit score, I was told by Jesse (a sales agent) that the bank had accepted me for a $10,000.00 credit. I could not stay longer cause I had to work that day so Jesse told me to come back the following week. After I came back ( drove an hour and a half), I am now being told that I need a co-signer. The finance sales person is also telling me that they need me to bring my residency card and Social security. This is discrimination and is unacceptable. I do not recommend this place to buy anything. I got accepted for the same credit at another dealer and they did not require my papers to get the credit. I should have sued this place for discrimination towards Hispanics.
