I used to always be a Michaels shopper, that is, until I stopped in this magical place. I come here like once a week, sometimes more. Sometimes I dont even buy anything. Sometimes I buy something I dont even know how to use yet. Either way, I love the staff here. They are so friendly and welcoming. I love that they all have a talent for a different craft and are always willing to listen to you and answer questions you may have. There are also a few workers that Ive come to know a bit that are so coupon friendly: Karina and Claire and that one girl I feel terrible about right now because I dont know her name! They always ask if you have a coupon. Theyre always trying to save you money. I love it! Either way, this is the place to come to for your fabric and crafts need.

Another big-box store strong arming the competition out of business. This Jo-Anns moved into chicagos garment district in 2015, while at the same time, one of the best fabric stores in the area, "Vogue Fabrics" mysteriously disappeared. Right next to Jo-Anns are the last two neighborhood fabric stores—New Rainbow Fabrics and Fishmans Fabrics. Support chicagos disappearing small businesses and try those before Jo-Anns. Why would i choose a corporate big-box store when i could shop at a locally owned fabric store in the same area? A place where the employees have been there for years and have expert opinions and advice.

Great store with a lot of selections from sewing needs to painting. I love that there are always sales! My only issue with this location is that the staff count is always low. There will be long lines with 1-2 cashiers at the registers and its very hard to find employees on the floor to help you. Perhaps there seems to be a small staff number because the store isnt as busy, but there could definitely be more people to help. However, the small staff that is there is very nice and theyre always helpful. Other than that, this store is like a wonderland for crafty creatives.

MY SISTER TOOK ME TO THIS STORE FOR MY FIRST TIME. WE WERE GOING TO MICHAELS, BUT WENT HERE. I FELT LIKE A KID IN A CANDY STORE. THE BUTTONS, RIBBONS, YARN OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DIDNT WANT TO LEAVE. MY SISTER SAID IM GOING TO THE RESTROOM WHEN I COME BACK YOU BETTER BE READY WELL, I WASNT READY!!!!! SHE DONT KNOW THAT SHE GAVE ME SOME TIME. I JUST COULDNT MAKE UP MY MIND WHICH TO TAKE HOME BECAUSE EVERYTHING WAS SOOOO GORGEOUS!!!!!! PRAISE JESUS FOR JO-ANNS I PROMISE ILL FIND MY WAY BACK TO YOU

Staff is very friendly and helpful. I try to go in when theyre closing to avoid buying everything lol and no one is pushy our rude. I always find what I need and usually even better stuff that I hadnt thought of for very reasonable prices.

The store gets cluttered at the end of the day and it doesnt seem like employees spend time restock and organizing the shelves. However, the employees are helpful and knowledgeable.

Excellent assistance but the young lady who cuts the fabric shouldnt measure from the already cut material you should always cut away from that part when measuring.
