The manager or owner of this store is a malicious, nasty, utter jerk! He has the worst temper I have ever experienced. He has absolutely no respect for another human being, be they employees or customers. I was waiting outside on the corner, to meet a friend. I heard yelling from within the open door and walked near it fearing something bad was happening. I watched the manager yelling rudely at two girls at the counter who couldnt decide between two items they intended to buy. Soon thereafter, a rough looking guy, probably homeless, walked in off the street. The man from the street had money in hand and wanted to buy something. The manager immediately came out from behind the counter and was SCREAMING about how the customer was a worthless person and needed to get the hell out of his store before he got his @ss kicked. I thought he was going to hit him. Granted, this likely homeless man wasnt the most well dressed person, but he was causing no harm to anyone around him and was fully intending to buy something. Soon after, I heard him yelling at the top of his lungs at another employee. Then, my friend arrived and we selected a bottle of wine for a BYOB restaurant nearby. We got to the front and a few other people arrived at the counter at the same time. The manager immediately yelled at all of us to stop standing there and step up to the counter. He made a snide comment about buying a cheap wine and further comments about hurrying up to give him the money and then get out of his store to make way for the people behind us. Both my friend and I suspected the manager was drunk while working the cash register. His rage was out of control. The owner/manager is a spiteful, malevolent, human being. He does not deserve your patronage, nor should you have to experience yourself or witness how he treats other people. Another time we ordered a keg from them and they WAY overcharged for thigns they did not include in the price on the phone, such as 16 bags of ice, and the tub rental.

Im a local. I used to be a heavy drinker for years, but then went sober. Shady places like this help keep me from purchasing alcohol ever again. Occasionally Ill have an N/A brew, and they had the weakest selection of N/As of any full sized liquor store Ive ever been in (and thats quite a few stores.) I ended up getting some weird cans of ginger beer one time, got snarky attitude for it by the clerk, so I never bought from them again. I went in on a separate occasion to trade some $2 bills into regular bills. The clerk eyed me in an insultingly skeptical manner, & held every single bill up to the light for watermark verification (like they were big bills.) He even called over his manager to do the same, then veeeery reluctantly traded the bills, eyeing me the whole time, and asking questions about where I got them. Maybe in his native country they counterfeit $2 bills, but here that is absolutely unheard of, especially by a less than fortunate individual, such as myself. Avoid this place if you respect your dignity. I spit on this store. Support the store on Belmont/Sheffield, which actually has excellent service/selection, or just find a cheap bar.

Since moving into the neighborhood last June and not having a car, I found that my roommates and I would patronize simply because it was very convenient. As soon as we starting going to Binnys a bit farther south we realized that we were getting absolutely ripped off. We became close with the two brothers who run and own the gross establishment. Now we mostly go to Binnys, however, we go back just to see the owners verbally assault patrons who not only take it but continue to come back. I have seen near fist fights between owners and other patrons while in the store and it just makes me laugh the way they make fun of customers for their choices in liquor. They also love to try to sell ice to keg buyers which usually causes a verbal assault from the owners. They are nice if you get on their good side.

This place is owned by two primitive Greek retards that hate blacks as much as St. Louis Cardinal fan’s. Always remember when walking into this overpriced garage dump store to always have cash in hand and to be ready when checking out. The two macho brothers that own the place work about around 100 hours a week each so their always in a bad mood so when entering be ready for them to potentially verbally harass you or even threaten you. I personally go for the laughs and the no look fist pounds after Cubs victories. But because it’s the off season these guys will be in the worst moods ever. So until opening day I would tell you to probably go three blocks south to Binny’s for better priced liquor.

Although I have to acknowledge that the price of a full keg is decent, the other aspects are pretty terrible. Its only worth it if all you need is a keg. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND buying/renting anything else from them! It is way too costly! The cashier was very rude and pushy. I couldnt tell if he was talking to me or his employees half the time. He kept yelling at his employees right in the middle of my questions. Also, I was charged for bags of ice that I never received. Unless you are prepared to get horrible customer service, I wouldnt recommend.

I used to live about a block away, but avoided this store at all costs because the old management/staff was so horrible. I just went back recently because we were in a pinch and was very surprised to see a whole different store! Much more clean, better selection, and the best part is the much improved ownership. Used to tell everybody to avoid if possible, but I really like the new layout and friendly staff. Ive not had a keg rental experience with the new owners - only the old.
