The worst store - of any kind - I have ever been to. Today, a SATURDAY, the doctor was "not in", and apparently only a doctor can "dispense" the contact lenses Ive been wearing for twenty years and for which I had an exam at this same location just a few months ago. Additionally, the clerk would not give me a copy of my prescription so I could go get my contacts from a store where a doctor showed up for work, because I havent gotten my "follow up" exam. So she claimed giving me my prescription is illegal. If this clerk is correct, they illegally dispensed contact lenses to me six weeks ago - I hadnt had my "follow up" exam then, either. Im a pretty relaxed guy, but shouldnt I consider making trouble for them? If their industry is going to lobby for laws to work against me simply getting a pair of contacts, why shouldnt I? The Georgia Optometric Association has lobbied into law numerous protectionist policies that are not designed to help consumers but to force consumers to purchase more medical "care" than they need, and which serve not a medical function, but a financial one. When the industry can use legislation to create customers - to force people into their stores for care they neither want or need, what recourse do consumers have? What incentive do eyeglass and contact lens stores have to give even the baseline level of service I get from my local tire shop? Extremely frustrated and happy to join the fight against protectionist legislation and against this corrupt industry in particular.

This is one of the most incompetent businesses I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I ordered bifocals from them two months ago and the employee that helped me measured the bifocal area unusably small. I asked for and received replacement lenses. While the replacements corrected the first problem, the second employee forgot to order Transition lenses (which darken in sunlight). I asked for this to be corrected. Two weeks later, I hadnt heard anything from them and called to check on my lenses. After spending a half-hour on hold and talking to three different employees, they admitted that the order had not been placed and told me Id have to wait ANOTHER two weeks. Two months and four tries (and counting) to get a simple pair of bifocals is beyond ridiculous. Shop elsewhere.

I have stopped here on two occasions, a couple of years apart, to have a repair done on glasses that I did not buy here. I live 2 hours away and was visiting my sister when my glasses broke. I have to give the folks at Empire Visionworks the highest rating for friendly customer service and a lovely atmosphere. I looked around this time at the many frames available and am very impressed with the selection. I have advised friends who live in Auburn to stop by for a look and I have the feeling I will be back again, this time to get new specks! Thanks for your help!

Awful experience went there to try and get my father a pair of glasses and could barely get waited on. The store wasnt busy there was only one other couple there. A man was "helping us" and then took off for the other couple when I was trying to ask questions about the lenses. The only other employee came over and she couldnt even find where he had placed the frames we were looking at. Terrible experience and wont be back. This location was great two years ago, must have had change in employees. They need to be better trained on customer service.

***Buyer Beware*** Need pair of glasses, you may want to think about it before buying a pair @visionworks. After you purchase your glasses (over $350) there is NO WARRANTY.. Let me say that again.. you get NO WARRANTY after 30 days. Was not offered any type of warranty and would have taken the offer considering the price. When you are dependent on your sight, why would you pay your hard-earned money to a place that can’t stand behind their product or offer you assurance of their product.

I went in for a new pair of spectacles. I was told that my prescription expired. I got home and destroyed my home trying to find that darn envelope with my exam information. It says that my spectacle prescription does not expire until July 2017. They were about to make me pay for a new eye exam. Funny too, that evening a gentleman was arguing with a store associate about similar experiences other people in these reviews have. Wont be back here.

This place is horrible. The employees are seriously under trained and didnt even know the username and password for the insurance system they were using. So instead of them consulting someone else to help fix the problem the employee gave the excuse that she is new and everyone else is also new and left us in the dust to go help other people. This was all just to pay for some contacts that we ordered. Dont go here..

This is a very low end business that does not seek repeat customers. They can only give you the glasses that you purchased if a licensed person is in the store. They have my new glasses but I cannot get them because the only licensed person is off today. Every other place I contacted has someone in the building every day they are open. Very bad judgement on my part to take my business to this vendor.

Got my new glasses back with the wrong prescription in one eye. Was told it would take another 10 days. After me calling them to check the status I was informed they screwed up the order and it would be another 10 days. But yet if I wouldnt of called no-one would of bothered to inform me. The Dr. Was great I will say! Just cant even understand why one pair of glasses would take over a month to get.

If there was a lower option than one star thats what I would have chosen. I spent all of 5 minutes with the doctor and over an hour just waiting on someone to help me so I can order my contacts and leave. Meanwhile, the employees "helping" are socializing and cutting up. Find another place to go!!!

Employees have no idea how to handle insurance, have no idea what services they actually offer, and told my daughter that her eyes were supposed to hurt when she put on her new glasses and that it would take a week to get used to them! Idiots!

Misunderstood what we asked for, we then complained and got it refunded. Nice service, amazingly friendly manager.
