This place has a WONDERFUL selection of new and used items. I would have a hard time believing that anyone couldnt find what theyre looking for. I have a love of obscure anime and NEVER have any trouble finding what Im looking for. Also dont have to spend a fortune. Something else that I LOVE about this place. My first experience was trying to unload 200+ DVDs a friend had given us while moving. Theyll take all of the titles not just what may sell. All they check for is that the correct title is in the box and that its not scratched so badly it wont play. They give 2 options. 1. You can take the FULL price of what they offer you in store credit or option #2. Is take HALF of what they offer in CASH. Its the best place to go when youre trying to recycle your library. They also take vinyl in its original uh what do ya call it... cover art? Pretty much all types of media. Even tablets, iPods (they ask you leave 1 song on your digital media players for testing but to wipe the rest of the catalog.)EReaders, & even play starions & Atari so long as you have at least 1 controller. All in all I see NO reason to go anywhere else to just have them pick through your selection to take maybe 1 or 2 and low ball the Hell out of you. Now that Ive found this place it is the ONLY place I will EVER go.

My opinion is mixed for the time being. Today was my 2nd time at 2nd & Charles. The first, a few days ago, I noticed used items to buy, and gravitated towards used XBox (original) games. I bought 3 to try and all at $6 or less, why not. They played fine. One of 3 games, "Cars" wasnt a hit. Today I decided to head back, plus take a few more games to trade in and buy more. Sounds like a good plan. Upon entering the store, I walked to the sell counter and "get an offer" while we shopped. My youngest picked out 4 more XBox games to try, all at $6 or less, great! My phone buzzed and my "offer" was ready. I was informed 3 of the 5 games were scratched and no offer was on them. 1 of 3 being "Cars" I just purchased a few days ago. Was this a joke? No no no, that isnt punchline... Wait for it! Drum-roll please... I was told my 2 good games were worth a whopping $1.28! WHATTTTTT??? That wasnt worth my time creating an account with 2nd & Charles. Ill look elsewhere for used games plus, most likely breakdown and buy a new leftover XBox 360 on Amazon. Theyre going for $150 at 2nd & C. Also note. We priced other items in the store today, and overall, wow...theyre excessively expensive for used items. I suggest you look elsewhere.

We dont get to Kennesaw often, but when we do my son and I absolutely must visit 2nd & Charles. My son and I frequent the toys, comics, DVD, games and kids books sections. Our most frequent purchases are graphic novels and kids books. Its not uncommon to find each at 50% off cover price and in very good shape. My family has exchanged some items at the location and the store credit was not nearly as good as I would have hoped. But, if you want to get rid of it and you want to get something for it...2nd & Charles is a decent option. Youll get more than you would at a yard sale. The location is large, the selection of different offerings is rather broad (games, DVDs, books, comics, toys, music, instruments, collectibles, etc.) and the store is tidy. The story does have a hang-out feel and I often observe people hanging out in various areas. The location is not the best to get in and out of, but most places in (busy) Kennesaw have the same problem.

This is a review if you are selling to them. DONT. Going in I dont expect to get retail price. I know they have to make a profit. Low ball doesnt even come close to what is offered. Tried selling an item that they are already selling at $450. They offered $80. Yup 8-0. Went down the road to local electronics store and got $290. Do your research. If you can sell on ebay or amazon. If you cant do that look at local owned bookstores (KSU for text!), game stores, electronics, etc. Anywhere but here. Dont even get me started on the snarkiness of the employees. They act like they are doing you a favor by even looking at your items. Ask any question on value and the answer is its what the System says delivered with a look of contempt. You need to know they are owned by Books A Million. They are now going after the resell market which is typically your small business realm.

If youre a fan of manga or anime, this is the place to go to buy it secondhand. They have used manga volumes as low as $3.50 and you might get lucky and catch a more popular title that got traded in. Ive picked up several volumes of berserk and all 6 volumes of scott pilgrim this way. For a quarter of their sticker value, its a steal. The only reason I dont give them 5 stars is their trade in process. They dont individually price the stuff you trade in, so they give you a lump sum price instead of what every individual item is worth, so you can decide if you really want to trade it or not. They also dont offer very much in store credit for some of the items you might trade them, they tried to buy a bass guitar of mine for $25 in store credit. So I say they are fantastic to buy from, not so much to sell to.

Actually more of a game cartridge pawn shop, less of a real bookstore. They accepted two books out of three bins I submitted (good quality duplicates), with the suggestion I should lug them back in a couple months later when they hoped to be buying again. After browsing the selection, it seems unlikely that Ill be back because I dont buy manga, cheap Chinese import remainders, or romance paperbacks. The DVD selection isnt any deeper than most Best Buys, so its back to the internet I go. If you want a good deal on book trade-ins, let me suggest you seek out a good locally-owned bookshop where theyre more likely to give you a decent offer on the stuff they want, and hopefully one that actually feels like an authentic bookshop with character, instead of another bland corporate cavern.

Awful service for selling items! I took a bunch of books in and the whole thing was annoying. Lets count the ways: 1) Had to put the books in their silly bins even though they were already bagged up neatly. 2) They told me there was a 3 bin limit per person. No problem Ill just go get the wife or daughter who are already shopping. I come back with my daughters driver license and they tell me that she has to come there in person! 3) They take over an hour to decide they will only buy a few! 4) Rebag everything they wont buy yourself! 5) Sign/print your name twice and show your driver license twice! All this means I now HATE 2ND & CHARLES! Worst shopping experience in years! Oh and I drove down to 1/2 price books and sold the books you didnt want for twice the money!
