Academy Sports + Outdoors Academy Sports + Outdoors just got back from Academy Sports in Gainesville Ga. and had the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. My 17 year old son works hard for his money and he decided he wanted a pair of $150 Oakley sunglasses. So yesterday the sales associate at Academy told him they were polarized and when he got home today he looked them up online and they are not. The sales guy also said he had 30 days to return them no questions asked. When we got there tonight to return them the girl at customer service stated arguing and said she could not return them and we had to go through Oakley. We said that is not true and thats not what we were told. At that time the sales associate that sold them to him walked by and I said ask him. When the girl that ran customer service asked him he said yes just return them so she arguing with him three times . So I ask for a manager three separate times from this wonderful woman and finally got to speak with the manager so I ask for my money refunded that is horrible customer service

Went black Friday had the 9.99 sweatshirts that rang up.for 19.99 and the cashier wanted to argue with me that they wasnt on sale .they was on table as you walked in front door !! Then had a pair of boots that was exposed to been 19.99 they scanned at register regular price even ask associate in shoes if they was on sale.Had a shirt that was exposed to be half price had a tag on it for 21.99 .the cashier was peeling that tag off because it rang up 14.99 half price .the cashier wanted to be rude about everything. So I just left all of it !!I totally understand they was busy Friday afternoon if it was exposed to be on sale they should of let you have it for that price. Bright and well designed, Academy is the best sporting goods store in Gainesville. They have a great selection of firearms and knives that draws me back. The staff are far and few between, so you should know what you want and find it yourself. The gun counter is always swamped and you have to take a number to be waited on. However their prices are full service prices. I go here to look but almost never buy anything. Guns and knives are MSRP+. They have lots of stuff, but you pay for the privilege of not waiting for Amazon to ship it. I noticed they now have a price match guarantee I might try out soon, so they might get a 4th star.

I went to Academy Sports+0 to purchase a Womens Falcons top, but not a tee shirt, and a pair of tennis shoes. I was disappointed they didnt have any women shirts in sizes 2x Falcons. I did get two pairs of shoes, one Nikes and a pair of Under Armour. I had to order one of them because you didnt have size 11 in women. Please get in more sizes for the full figure women. I was also looking for a pair of biker shorts, you only had sizes up to XL. I have been shopping here since the store open. Please consider getting a Women Department. I give the store 4 stairs.

On 4/28/16 I called the Gainesville Academy Sports and spoke to a man in the gun department and explained I had bought a product that was 100% defective and wondered about an exchange. He was semi-knowledgeable about the issue and we spoke for five minutes or more. He said he needed to talk to a manager and I gave him my phone number; hed call me back. Two days later still no call. Couple of lessons: employee knows nothing about customer service and manager knows nothing about managing. Go to Dicks Sporting Goods.

Today I searched for peanut oil on Google and Academy sports is showing $19.99 for the 3 gallon bottle, but in the store the price is totally different. I approached to the customer service lady and ask her about the difference between Google add and the store price. Her answer was: "We dont have anything to do with Google and the sale is over, so the price now is $29.99". I wonder if they dont have anything to do with Google, why they are using Google to get customers in??? Bad experience!!!

Academy has a large selection of items, and the prices are decent. Dicks Sporting Goods is my go to store though because they always price match for the same item, if there has ever been a difference in price which hasnt happened often, and the customer service and staff here dominates Academys tenfold. Staff at academy arent very helpful in my experience if you can even find anyone to help you at all.

Great new store, great selection and prices. Customer service SUCKS! Went in to buy new shoes and as we walked closer to the show aisle three employees that were standing there talking walked off and never even made eye contact or spoke to us. Its not only this location but several that I have been to.

I love it here this store has everything I need my only thing is the customer service is not there most of the time I will walk past 3 or 4 members of there staff with out a hello and if you cant find something you have to hunt them down but I almost always leave with what I came for

Came in to buy a scope for my rifle I confess I dont know much about them but your ascosiates dont either I did have one assisting me but in the middle of helping just left me standing there by my self so I guess I will purchase my scope somewhere else

I love academy better than any of the local sporting good stores. Great variety and jist about anything you could be looking for is available here. From clothes and shoes to hunting, fishing, and all sports.

This place has a ton of stuff for decent prices. They change their inventory based on the time of year so you can usually find what you need. This is one of my favorite sporting good stores.

Pretty good selection overall. Sometimes the ammo section is picked over and hard to talk to salesman at gun counter, but theyre usually very busy. Good prices!
