I had been coming here for the past five years to buy essential oils and organic food ingredients. The prepared foods are expensive, but tasty. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Occasionally sensed some weird vibes from some of the cashiers, but most were always very nice. I hadn’t been there for a few months, but went there a few days ago, to pick up some peppermint oil. I thought I recognized the cashier, but didn’t know his name. I asked him what his name was, and he replied: “They call me “cashier” “. He refused to make eye contact with me. It was very rude behavior. When I arrived home, I googled what to do about rude cashiers. Most of the advice was to go and speak to the manager. So today, with the items I had purchased earlier in hand, I went to speak with the manager at the store. Of course did not know the cashier’s name, but after I explained what happened and described the rude cashier to the manager, she said: “Oh, that would be John. He is such a nice person.” And she said that she was sure it was just a matter of “different personalities”. She said that “John” was on a lunch break, but that I could wait (45 minutes) for him to come back. I decided not to wait. I requested the manager for a refund and informed her that I would not be coming back. She replied: “Well, I’m sorry to be losing your business.” I had never met her before. It was strange. Perhaps the store is in a rough neighborhood and people working there are worried about their own personal security. Maybe that is why the cashier refused to look at me or give me his name. I’ve learned a few things from this experience. The first being : Pay attention to the vibes. The second being: Don’t bother with Miss Manner’s advice to speak to a (ineffective) manager. Just write an honest review. As an aside: I was looking for a way to prevent my full name from showing up on this google review and found a whole discussion about ANON reviews and the following comment. (I can well understand why somebody would want to remain anonymous.) Mike and everybody else who wants to remain ANON. Why? If you stand by your review and you have taken the time and consideration to be FAIR and REASONABLE with you review then I dont understand why you want to remain protected as ANON. I have no issue with using a handle like here in this forum, but only if you can click on this to send a direct message to the poster and have access (in a way that also protects the user, process for access) to their full legal name so that issues of actual slander can be easily dealt with between the parties with a simple retraction or removal of a slanderous posts before the need to initiating proceedings. Speaking for Myself as a business owner I would want to make contact with a poster of a negative review and find out how I could redress (fix the issue), improve (try to learn and not repeat) and provide better service. Hopefully they would return as a customer and eventually post a positive review. I generally find if you engage with disgruntled customers and address their issues they will eventually become loyal to your business because you take them seriously and they know if a problem arises you are willing to sort it out.

Rainbow was my go-to for shopping and hot-bar lunches as a recent college grad living and working in Atlanta in the early 2000s. My salary was pretty low at the time, but I found Rainbow to be the most affordable health food store in the area! Prices may seem high to the average shopper, but for the quality and brands they carry, the prices are actually very competitive. They also carry many items I cant find anywhere else. Besides, you cant beat the feeling of supporting a local small biz with such great vibes! I love to go back and visit (i.e. shop and eat) when Im in town.

Been going to Rainbow since it opened! Always a pleasure to fine the best of what I need. I always buy my mixture to make my own version of Trail Mix. Never would buy the Tupelo Honey anywhere but Rainbow...I would bring my 1qt Glass Jar and fill it to the brim. Before leaving one always needs to either sit and have some hot soup or a sandwich to take to go home. The store has a good selection of healthy food as well as various types of supplements, etc. The food bar is very good because it has a good variety of vegetarian food. Tasty, healthy and not too expensive. If you like fast food or rich foods with meats and heavy sauces, you wont like it here. If you want a fancy restaurant atmosphere, go elsewhere. But if you are looking for good, tasty, healthy food, this is a very good place to go to. Im a customer for many years.

Agreed it is the best healthy food bar in town. While variety is not as good as Whole Foods hot bar, the quality of the food is FAR superior! I just wish they had another location further north, it is a bit of a trek to Decatur for us. Another little trick we sometimes do is as they obviously dont have a license to serve liquor, we sometimes fill a water bottle with wine so we can have it with dinner. Talk about a cheap dinner nite out!!!!

Before there was WholeFoods, there was Rainbow! This place is a jem for those who are looking to live healthy or have been on that journey for some time. You can usually find what you need at a great price. We love shopping there because of the wonderful staff, helpful info and low key atmosphere. Its a great place for a quality lunch that is nutriuos, delicious and vegetarian. We love this place!

For my nutraceuticals, healthy living advice, hot foods bar, grocery items, or just a prepared sandwich, nothing beats Rainbow. I can rely on them to offer the best. My son-in-law, upon flying into Atlanta, has us drive straight to Rainbow to get his fill of excellent hot bar foods and salad fixins. A great tradition. How do they offer so much in such a small place?

I came for a hot breakfast bar but they only have lunch. So I browsed the store and they have such a wide selection of yummy and healthy foods! While I was looking, I was greeted by an employee who was kind enough to tell me about the Sunday Brunch that is served at the hot bar at 10:30. Ill be back on Sunday for sure!

Not my kind of place... Its small and I think it smells odd. BUT i have gotten a few supplements from there and local honey which helped with my overall health. If you like all organic and super hippie stuff this is where you want to be.

Place is out of date the freezer they keep the frozen foods arent working properly. Not sure how often they replace the food on the buffet today. I was completely grossed out by my visit.
