HORRIBLE.! I came here to cash in my wic vouchers and the cashier was being very rude.! She argued with me up and down about the things i always get saying. "We dont not accept this. Big bear do not accept the stuff that you are trying to get." So i told her "everytime i come here i get the same things so why is it a problem this time.?" Then she starting talking mess about me to her coworker. When we were coming to an end she asked me if i wanted some more fruit becasue i had enough to get more so i said "sure " While i was walking off she asked me what kind of fruit i was getting and i said 2 green apples and 2 red ones." So when i came back she said to me with an adittude "YOU HAVE TO GET 3 RED APPLES SO TAKE BACK THE GREEN ONES." Once she said i asked her "then why ask me what kind of fruit i was getting instead of telling me to gt 3 red apples." She didnt say anything and as i was walking out she started talking more mess with her coworkers and laughing..... I felt very disrespected and WILL NOT SHOP HERE ANYMORE.! Plus their fruits and veggies are very NASTY and looks old.

I went to your store on September 17, 2008 and found two open lines around 4:45...when most people are getting off work and trying to get home. People were standing and having to wait. You had the express line open with at least 15 people and then one other main cashier waiting on people - atleast 15 people waiting there as well. I asked if they could open up another line and the reply was "she is at lunch". The person that answered me was walking around and had nothing but disrespect for the customers. Her name was Sylvan or Silver - I am 58 years old and never ran into such a rude person. I was spending my money and had been a customer there (up until yesterday) - I will not be back. She talked rude to me all the way to the door - I had to walk back to see what else she had to say...I would not hire any one such as her. It is bad for your store.

DISGUSTING!! would be my experience! The person behind the register was DISGUSTING! She was having a conversation with a woman who was in front of me and when I approached to conduct my transaction, not ONCE did the cashier look at me. NOT ONCE was I acknowledged! She continued to talk with the previous customer while ringing up my groceries. NOT ONCE did she even ask how I was paying. Just continued talking about a bunch of NOTHING! I could have easily given her a dollar for all my groceries and she would have never known! These are the types that work in this store! DO NOT GO THERE! They know NOTHING of customer service. Where do they come from? A barn??!! My rating is a big fat ZERO! Make it a double Zero!

This is a horrible place to shop. I just bought a house in the area and my ritual is to walk to a store as exercise and buy groceries and come back. When I got there the owner was treating his workers like slaves unloading a truck outside. I still gave it a chance and was rudely beckoned to leave my jogging bag in a dirty bin at the front of the store. Why would I have to do that when you have detectors? It was a horrible experience to see employees treated like slaves and customers treated like criminals before they even enter. Please shop somewhere else at all costs. I will drive miles away for my groceries and just go to the nearby Chevron for small items from now on.

I live in the neighborhood and shop there often especially for fruit and vegetables - the best and most reasonable in area. Cashiers and customer service always excellent. Unlike some grocery stores(including big chains), Big Bear is always accommodating by having enough lines open for their customers. Dont buy everything there, but have never had a problem with anything that I have bought. Glad they are there for the convenience and service to the neighborhood.

After 39 years in the neighborhood, I was introduced to this store today. 1) the place did NOT smell bad at all and was extremely clean. 2) No slaves were unloading trucks. 3) Lots of local people work there and they are nice, nice, nice! 4) The prices compared to Kroger, Publix, etc. are EXCELLENT and Im considered a good shopper. 5) The produce is beautiful. Suffice it to say, I really liked shopping here and Ill definitely make it a regular.

I recently moved to the area so besides the convenience, it is what it is. Some things are rather expensive. I could just go to Publix. The meat was reasonable. The fruit is always old looking. I usually only get the bananas. The 2 workers I encountered were okay. One of them was very friendly and helpful. Summary...if youre in need of something, its helpful. Ill stick to Publix for quality and Kroger for reasonably priced things.

I have been shopping here since the day it became big bear around 2002-2003 before it used to be windixe. I only go there for the produce, eggs and the meat, I have been buying meat here for 9 years and I have never had a spoil meat, it always smells and taste good. The produce is crisp and fresh most of the time and cheaper than walmart, kroger and publix.

My first visit to Big Bear(south dekalb location) was Christmas Eve. I bought vegetables that were gorgeous, and I would like to purchase vegetables from them again. I am going to try the west end location in hopes that it is a cleaner store, because the south dekalb location is absolutely filthy !!!

I wish i could give a negative score .This store is disgusting. I dont normally shop here but rushing xmas eve not many stores was open with little wait i gathered some chicken wings and drumsticks why did i get home to wash my meat and mole was inside drumsticks.Nasty!!!!

I have never had a problem. I go for the meat which is always affordable and in bulk, unlike the other stores where you have to pick 5 for 19.99 and theres not much in the packages.
