My favorite supermarket in town. They generally hire a very high caliber employee (think Chick-fil-a), so you almost always get very friendly personable service. If you ever do have a problem, their customer service and management is very responsive. The store is always clean and well organized. The shelves are always fronted and faced so well that you think you are shopping in a staged supermarket in a movie. The everyday prices are higher than some of their competitors. But they have great weekly sale promotions. I generally just go there each week to pick up the sale items and I think I get a great value. The highlight is their buy-one-get-one-free items, which dont require you to get 2 of the item to receive the savings (they just ring up half price). The parking lot is nice with angled spaces in one-way lanes. So its pretty easy to get in and out. Even if you have to park some distance from the entrance. They also have ticketmaster available @ the customer service desk, and a blockbuster dvd rental kiosk.

Let me begin by saying collectively over the years Ive experienced really good service here, and generally speaking my complaint is less about service than about issues related to deli item availability. I really enjoy their chicken finger sub. So much so that Ive often over the years eaten it 1-2x a month. This year, particularly the last six months or so Ive gone in to get the sub for lunch at various different times between 11 and up to after 2pm, and probably five of the last seven visits, they have either been out of chicken fingers, or so low that someone in line before me bought the last ones. I almost never leave online reviews, but Ive pretty much written them off as a lunch option at this point after going there again today and having the same experience. I would think that a company of Publixs caliber can better anticipate these types of things so that poor customer experiences dont happen.

I usually have viewed Publix with the same standards as chick-fil-a, however this Publix on Atlanta hwy Athens is by far the worst. The staff has terrible attitudes, the deli in particular. The older ladies are not courteous and seems to always be having a bad day. The last few visits here they have about 10 pieces of dried up chicken in the warmer. When you ask for a larger amount than what they have available they get an attitude and say its going to be a wait do you still want it? Yes I still want it, then eyes roll. Im a paying customer and if I am paying for it I want what I want, if you dont like your job then you should not work on a job dealing with the public and you greet them with a frown. Publix needs to screen their employees better and put them in better positions. Maybe they need to put them cleaning the bathrooms where they do not have to deal with anyone. Publix do better.

I place orders for my company each week for a catered lunch for around 10 to 15 employees. Today for the second time our business was turned away because the deli did not have enough bread to accommodate our order. our order consisted on a medium sub platter so we are talking about 4 foot long pieces of bread. When I expressed confusion I was told I should have called 24 hours in advance to order the four footlongs cut up. We are no longer giving this company our business as Kroger was MORE than happy to accommodate our small catering order and had it ready on time with only three hours notice.

Because of the logistic difficulty of entering and exiting this Publix, I didnt shop there for years. A couple of years ago I discovered that they carry a number of products that I use constantly, have some other products I was happy to find, and have decent pricing and great specials. However, in the last month or so, they have discontinued two of the items that caused me to keep going there: New England Hazelnut Decaffeinated Coffee, and Cascadian Farm Ancient Grains Cereal. A couple of months ago, I would have given a five star rating; today, Im not nearly as happy.

I personally love it especially the deli, everyone there is warm, nice, and friendly. the chicken fingers are a big seller and they only take 6 and half minutes to cook so if your that impatient then it wasnt meant to be. There are a lot of people that come in a store so if they are cooking it but your like forget it then sorry they are doing their best. If you never work back in the kitchen you could never fully understand. I got patient especially when it comes out hot and fresh!!!!!! thats the best way to get them.

We always get the cakes from Publix bakery on Atlanta Highway in Athens Ga. but this past Saturday I had a red velvet cake ordered for my daughters 17th birthday and it was so dry that we couldnt hardly eat it. needless to say I have a good bit of sheet cake wasted. The only part that is missing is the 7 pieces that were cut. Im disappointed this time... so from now on maybe the bakery can make the cakes the night before its picked up and not a few days before because there is no way this cake was made fresh .

Today March 3rd, 2016. We were leaving Publix and it was pouring down rain. I was getting to run through the rain to pull our jeep up to the curb, so we could load our 3 kids and groceries. A Publix associate approached me with 2 umbrellas and asked if he could walk us out to our jeep. I greatfully accepted!! I dident catch his name. He was kind and curtious, and went above a beyond. This one of many reasons Ill return to shop at Publix. This gentile deserves a raise.

Excellent produce choices, friendly, courteous, helpful employees who will go out of their way to assist you. Publix is always my 1st choice - they carry literally everything that I shop for or will special order for me. The courteous & caring employees make shopping there a true pleasure. So very happy to have found this Publix in Athens .. its every bit as spectacular as the Publix Markets I spent the past 40 years shopping at in my Florida home.

The Event planners and bakery at this Publix are wonderful! Tracey and Mark helped us at the cake tasting. We just had our wedding and the cake was more than perfect. It was nearly the favorite part of our wedding. They delivered it and set it up. The cake was soo delicious. It had lots of icing and was decorated beautifully. I would recommend them anyone. You will not be disappointed.

Rude staff. Worse than walmart. "Keith" (whose been working there since 2006) has no respect for the customer. His attitude is demeaning and inauthentic. And the management is lazy at best. I love publix but this one is terrible. The management stands up front and talks to eachother instead of tending to a bad staff. Sucks.

I have shopped and eaten here a number of times. Store is laid out kind of strange. Feels like it doesnt flow well. Baked chicken wings in the deli are great, but "coolers" for drinks are room temp almost. Publix needs to step up
