I shop at The Fresh Market on a regular basis. I recently purchased sushi for an early lunch. After eating 7 rolls I began throwing up 45 minutes later for about 5 hours. The Sushi rolls were the only meal I had that day. Today as I was shopping I asked who to speak with regarding the sushi. I was directed to the sushi team. They proceeded to ask me a number of questions regarding if I had washed my hands - if it was the only food that I had eaten that day and refused to acknowledge what I was telling them. It was insulting and they continued to argue with me. I finished my shopping and decided to speak with the store manager. He arrived at the register with the manager of the sushi team. I began to let them know of the food poisoning and the manager of the sushi team started asking me the same questions without listening to my answers. The manager of The Fresh Market Store Jason stood there watching without participating in the conversation. The manager of the sushi team proceeded to talk over me stating his history of cleanliness and customer satisfaction ratings. I pointed out that I was trying to bring the food poisoning to his attention and that cross contamination is possible in the best conditions. He talked over me and continued to become more aggressive. It was an insulting experience. I had to participate in this idiocy! Having to argue with both of the managers letting them know of the irrelevancy of the Sushi managers facts. I recommend to everyone to not trust the sushi department and due to my humiliation and horrible customer service experience to not trust the Fresh Markets Management team.

The Sushi staff accused me of something that I did not do..said that I messed the top of the sushi when I was willing to purchase it like that not minding how it looked, she then came from behind her stand to confront me while I am with a calm voice explaining it was not me in fact the one I was looking at earlier someone else purchased it she continued to be rude and raising her voice at me and got into my personal space as if she was going to do something. The guy who also makes sushi joined in and disrespected me telling me I can go somewhere else they do not want my business. I asked to speak to The Fresh Market Manager she told me I am the manager I was too upset that I left and then called the manager and explained to him. In all to say no customer should be treated like that I am glad that I handled it well, sad to say it should of been the other way around. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Stores main attraction - the center, a large selection of prepared meats, deli, soups, cheeses, olives, asian sushi are located. With quality exceeding virtually every restaurant in Vero Beach. Peak croud excitement 4pm to 7pm each day. Sometime the place smells like a chefs kitchen. To those who are cost conscious, they have 4 types of specials.. Tuesdays only, Saturdays only, weekly specials, and monthly specials. Example, walking in on Tuesdays, 3 types of specials apply Tuesdays specials, the Weekly specials, and monthly specials. Bargins.. Last month high quality coconut water 32 ounce quarts were 2 for 1 = $1.99 each. All this month gluten free organic corn torilla chips, true bakery fresh quality, might be the best packaged organic corn chips in the country. 16 ounces $3.39.

Every time I go to the Fresh Market in Vero Beach, they have raw meat sitting in water at room temperature in tubs meant to be packed with ice. When I bring it to the attention of the meat counter I have been told that they are to busy to refill the ice to keep it at the proper temperature, and one employee said he didnt care since he was not going to eat it himself. Not only was the problem not fixed but it was complete ignored. Then when I went to check out, I asked why some one wearing street cloths was bagging my grocerys she explained she was working off the clock so she can talk to her cashier friend. Why am I paying premium prices for bad customer service and spoiled meat?

We shop here every time we come to Vero Beach or Coconut Grove. They have the best bread weve found in the states, their crostinis are to die for. Their prepared foods are so convenient (we are on a yacht), we never throw out any fruit because it is fresh. Their cheeses, although slightly higher prices than a regular grocery are more diverse. They are not a full grocery store so if that is what you are trying for it isnt going to work. I think their "healthy" slogan is a bit overrated; it isnt like a Trader Joes which certainly is a healthy store. But, their food is good, great for company, for treating yourself to a good meal in your home and cheeses and breads.

@Bumblebee For your information, I do have a job. It is people like yourself that encourage me to vote against tax breaks and other ignorant matters of fiscal irresponsibility in government. I work hard, pay into the system and since my hours have been reduced thanks to an economy that needs less welding to be done, I dont work as much. Additional: TFM still does not accept SNAP or EBT cards. More the pity since it is a sale theyve lost. I am not interested in "gourmet food" it is the bulk dry goods for a moderate price. One last thing, Bumblebee. Next time you need something fixed, I hope you get double charged.

For some reason the employees of the meat department are miserable, never a thank you as you get your $100 worth of meat this Saturday morning, not even asking if they can help, just Next...They never smile and make you feel like theres lots of negative energy. The rest of the store employees are friendly, happy and courteous. Good quality higher end food than most supermarkets, but the meat department needs an attitude adjustment. Tuesdays the wait at the meat dept. is terrible for the specials and they are very understaffed.

Great food and beverages to choose from. My favorite section is the candy area, where you can load up bags with your favorite treats, or select pre-wrapped bags. The atmosphere in the store is nice. The deli is interesting in its structure - placed in the middle of the store, you can walk around the edges of it and see the staff working. All sides of the deli have a wide selection of food to choose from. For Vero Beach, this is a grocery store that sticks out for its uniqueness and novelty. I absolutely love the place.

This is my favorite food store! Their meat/seafood is top quality. Produce is organic and beautiful. Deli has great choices. I just bought a chicken pot pie in the deli area, not a frozen one, and it was excellent. Good as homemade. Bakery is great and has some Sugar-Free baked goods. Other parts of the store sell items I cant find anywhere else. Their prices can be a little high, but check online for their Specials and shop accordingly.
