This store should take down their American flag. If you are trying to live the American dream you should not deny your loyal customers of good cash in hand. I have been a loyal local customer for almost two years now buying all my dog food, ever, for my pupperoni. I understand if a business is closed but when given the choice to have excellent customer service of helping out a loyal customer with a dog for no food until Monday, or to send them away, this worker should have helped the customer. I got to the store 22 minutes after they had locked up because I got off work and had to pick up my dog. I saw two coworkers inside and held up my hands in prayer begging to be helped. I asked to buy dog food for my dog as I had ran out this morning, but had work all day. The older lady answered the door asking what I needed but said she could not ring up a transaction because they were closing the drawers. I happened to have cash 20s and 10s and begged if I could pay in cash and over pay and they could write it up the next business day as tomorrow is Easter Sunday. She just told me that she couldnt do it and I asked if she could reach out to the Local business owner but said she just couldnt do the transaction. If you want to run a successful business that depends on returning local, loyal customers who repeatedly come in constantly only to your business, you should help them in a time of desperation. I feel that if you are a small American businesses owner, you should help out your local people not just send them away even when they are offering to pay in cash over the amount and pick up the change another day or even to just leave the change, like I offered. I am truly upset about this situation and now have to google ways to prepare chicken or beef for my dog even though I wish to only feed her Fromms dog food. Do not know if I will continue to shop here as I moved over to palm harbor and now its out of the way, but I went anyways because I thought I was treated like family all the other times not sent away with a dog in need of food and a young college student doing his best help to help out local business owners. I could go to pet-smart or Walmart, or some other big name place but I choose to go to the local business because I care about small business in our country.

We shopped at Dog Lovers in Tarpon Springs for over 8 years. Last Christmas we bought our two dogs some dog mats to sleep on for Christmas. They were washed according to instructions but they did not hold up well at all. They were not cheap either. The insides all bunched up and would not spread out at all. We returned them, hoping to choose something else. The staff did not seem to have the authority to handle a return. The owner eventually came out and said that we must not have washed them properly - we did. She also said that she could not keep replacing our returns whenever we wanted. This was the first return we EVER made in 8 years. Not a nice way to treat loyal customers and they did not stand behind their merchandise. We did get to choose something else which does wash beautifully. However, we do not shop there anymore nor do we intend to.

These people suck very disrespectful. I heard them respond to an old man in such a disgusting manner Google. I felt so bad for him. He asked a simple question and so did i. There response is very unprofessional. Instead of saying oh no sir that wouldnt be good for your dog. Debbies reply not sincere at all shes just disgusting. Including the other staff they are just rude its ridiculous. They have to understand that theyre just employees at dog lovers and not professionals. Stop responding as if youre a professional and give suggestions because youre not professionals and youre not always right. You guys got it backwards you should respond in a professional manner and understand that youre not a professional.

Only spent a bit of time here, but the lady who helped me was so sweet. I bought a beach toy for my dog, Lady, as well as some nose/paw balm. I received some samples of dogfood I might be interested in. I will be back, I like that there are good options that arent Petco or Petsmart!

Great selection of high quality dog items but I do feel their prices are a bit high. Also, if you have to do a return, its for store credit only and you need to hold on to your receipt to get the credit. Ill continue to go here but I do consider other places for prices.
