Stay away. These people are outright liars. I brought my laptop in for repair after a botched Windows 10 update (thats another story but suffice to say I wont be reinstalling the free Windows 10 upgrade again). The repair was done by reinstalling Windows 7 after they could not work around the Windows 10 update issue, which was a bit of a disappointment since I could have reinstalled Windows 7 myself. In any case, I just wanted my laptop back as soon as possible, which took three days. When I went to pick up the laptop, I quickly noticed a large, deep scratch in the brushed aluminum cover. Thats when the run around started. The owner did acknowledge that no damage was noted on the repair ticket when it was taken in, so he offered to order me a new cover. Fair enough, if not another inconvenience. A week later when I called to find out where things stood, I was told it came in but was the wrong color and he had to order another one from China. He gave me a new estimated due date. When that date arrived, I called again and was given another, later due date of Nov 12th. That day came and went with no call from Computronics, so I called them mid-day on the 13th. Thats when I was told it showed out for delivery. OK, I thought, and asked them to call me as soon as it came in. The 13th ended with no call, so again I called mid-day on the 14th and was then told, oh, its still out for delivery by UPS. I expressed my dismay and skepticism to the owner who then offered to send me the tracking information via e-mail. After confirming my e-mail address, I hung up expecting an e-mail with the tracker in a few minutes. To no surprise, I never received the email (and yes I check the spam folder too) and have no option but to conclude they never intended to replace the damaged cover and blatantly lied, trying to string me along far enough that Id just go away. Do business with them at your own risk, but you can see they lack integrity. I will update this review in a week to post if I receive the new cover. In the meantime, I am considering other options. UPDATE: Its about a week past my fictitious due date and Im still waiting for that email with the tracking number - ha. To boot, Im having driver issues with the laptop. The mouse quits working about every other day requiring a reboot, and the cursor will randomly jump while typing in a text box like this one. If you dont notice it, youll look up and see gobbledygook on your screen. Also, they disabled my finger print reader and web-cam. Basically, I could have done a better job myself. Again, this place is like a hole in the wall that doesnt connote a professional business and my experience proved that out. Be ware

Dont be deceived at Computronics. The previous owner Leo was a straight shooter. Honest and competent. However he sold the place to Joe and his band of incompetent thieves. I ordered a custom built computer from the new bunch, thinking Id get the same quality and service Id received from Leo in the past. I wish. They charged me $862.79 for a custom built computer which they said had all the latest, fastest best components. However, it never worked right. I took it back for repairs FOUR TIMES within a couple weeks because it wasnt working at all. Each time they said they had fixed it and each time when I got it home it crapped out. Finally, after being quite patient waiting for it to be fixed properly, it became obvious to me that they could not do it. I asked for a refund but they refused. Joe (the owner) is too much a weasel to even return phone calls. I am out over $800 while the piece of junk sits in my garage. I suspect that what they are doing is putting together machines from old junk computers they have on hand and then selling them as new.

Hello all, Computronics, i stumbled upon them when i was taking my wife to get her hair done one day, and saw their humble shop. Was greeted with great respect and right off the bat i knew if i ever needed anything albeit this would rarely be the case since i myself am quite savvy. Anyway i was putting together a refurbished system and was having problems with a controller card and needed a replacement. The kind of card i needed was not really available on the market anymore and could be found on the internet fairly easily and fairly cheap. But as most things go with the internet getting your hands on one the same day is not possible. So i headed over to Computronics, and they just so happened to have a used one almost on its way to the garbage bin for being so old and pretty much useless. If not for their help i would have been very un-happy as other local shops did not carry anything close to what i needed. Thanks again Computronics ^_^...

I brought my desktop in for virus removal and the scan took care of the problem but Toby noticed Windows was still slow and problematic. He did some updates but the problem remained. He then decided to take a closer look at my hard drive and he could see that it was on the brink of failing. He let me know and said he had a hard drive in stock and installed it for me. Of course he had to transfer all of my data to the new hard drive (which he backed up to an encrypted storage, thank goodness). Still a problem remained and so he had to reinstall Windows 10 but had me up and running on email and a few other critical programs which was so helpful to me. They did a great job and charged a reasonable price and made sure the job was done RIGHT!! Some of friends have used them and were pleased too. Give them a call!!

Ive known Leo, the owner, for a long time as a friend. I even helped out at his shop repairing laptops and PCs for a year. Everyone there is laid back, friendly and very knowledgeable, and their main concern is getting you up and running. His prices are very reasonable, and 99% of the work needed, with a notable exception for virus and malware scans, takes an hour at most. (Virus and malware has become very advanced recently and most of those take a few hours at a minimum.) I had to post when I saw the out of business post - he IS in business, at the Sweetbay shopping plaza, 2 doors down from the Subway and the Pizza Hut. He has a lot of very happy customers, so if you need your computer fixed, take it to Computronics. Theyll take care of your computer.

Im an experienced user, and used to work for Leo when he owned Computronics. I called them just now for 2 PCI-express video cards. The person on the other end argued with me that I couldnt use 2 video cards in my machine, even though my board explicitly supports it. We went back and forth about this, when we shouldnt have had ANY argument to begin with, and the call ended up with him stating "yeah we have that" *click*. Needless to say, any customer service that was there when Leo, James, Jeff and Nicole ran the shop has evaporated, which is unfortunate. Ill be calling other shops for my needs now.
