My husband and I took our three young girls to the re-done play area at this mall, thinking since it was cleaned daily it would be well tended as far as cleanliness. Unfortunately, while watching our 3 year old, 5 year old, and 15 month old toddling around, there was a pool of vomit out of direct view, behind a climbing toy. The baby walked behind this toy, and then sat down, interested in "something" on the floor. As it turned out, she had found the vomit that had been sitting there - ignored by a security guard - and as babies do she sat down to examine it, got it on her hands, and got some in her mouth before anyone could react. Seeing her sit down prompted us to walk around the toy to see why she had stopped to sit down and saw the gruesome discovery. We immediately grabbed her and began to desperately wipe out her mouth, hands, and clothes with wipes from the stroller. Meanwhile, the mall "security guard" came up and pointed out that our small folded umbrella stroller couldnt be inside - okay, no big deal - easily remedied. But when my husband told this incompetent fool there was vomit over on the other side of the play area, his reply was "Yeah, I know." If the idiot knew, why was he not standing next to this vile puddle, warning away all the children running around to avoid contamination? Instead he ignored it and causally walked around to tell people to remove small folded umbrella strollers from the area. Other parents said the vomit had been there at least 15 minutes, who knows how many kids were contaminated by whatever made the original kid throw up in the first place? Some mysterious sickness has now infected probably at least a dozen unsuspecting kids as the area was packed with children. A responsible mall security guard would have had a janitor summoned immediately and have the vomit cleaned up within minutes and watched over the puddle in the interim. Disgusting, vile, and irresponsible mall. Yes, kids vomit at times, but any other mall wouldnt have a security rat know of a puddle of vomit and simply ignore it. Completely disgusting, and many kids and toddlers came in to contact with this mysterious sickness. Now all we can do is wait and see what she come down with. Great job University Mall.

This review is for the movie theatre inside; although I have not been impressed with the mall itself either. Tonight for the first time ever I got up and told movie theatre staff about disruptive patrons because they were talking so loud the entire movie that it became impossible to hear the movie. I tried to politely ask the 2 girls behind us in question if they could please whisper because we could not hear the movie over them, and they got mad continued talking so loud you could not hear. There were only 6 people in the theatre, and the other 2 left about a half hour into the movie I assume because they could not hear over the girls either. When I told staff about this they came in and said something to the girls, and the girls responded by yelling and talking much more to the attendant and at me. Instead of asking them to leave he made it clear he wasnt going to do anything and said we should all just watch the movie. I said that if he wasnt going to make them be quiet or leave, we would have to get a refund. Instead of asking them to leave he told me to go see the manager up front about a refund. This was a movie I have been waiting almost a year to see and was extremely disappointed to have to leave part way through. I have never left a movie like this before. When we told the manager he said that the employee should have made the loud people leave and that he would have a talk with the employee later. He said that they had a lot of problems the last couple nights with disruptive audience members and were, "trying to be really strict." If so why were the disruptive, very loud talkers allowed to stay while we had to leave? He gave us a refund but did not offer anything additional to make up for the inconvenience, even a coupon for a refreshment or some small token of good will seems customary for such a huge inconvenience. And he did not offer to go make the loud people leave so we could see the rest of the movie. First bad review Ive ever felt compelled enough to write on here, first time Ive had to leave a theatre 1/2 way through a movie, and definitely last time I will ever got to that theatre.

Its really not so bad, **PROS**: 1) If youre a student you can get to it on the Bullrunner and tons of stores give discounts with a USF ID, including Chic-fil-a, Footlocker, Old Navy, and Payless. 2) Good selection of shoe stores, and urban clothing stores if thats your thing. 3) Food court is good. We went to combo wok, and Ive never seen any food court place give SO MUCH FOOD. Great price too. **CONS**: 1) Lack of customer service. Of the 10 or so stores we walked into, not one single employee acknowledged us. No "Hello", no offer to help us find something, no nothing. Didnt matter if the store was busy or not, we got the same indifference everywhere. 2) Might not have the anchor stores you expect. No JcPenney? Seriously? Check their website before you go to avoid disappointment. 3) Not a lot of selection in general. OVERALL: The place is clean, parking is fine, its a pretty average mall in my opinion. The selection and customer service could definitely be improved, but for casual shopping trips it gets the job done.Yes a lot of black people shop here. Yes many of are young, and many of them dress in "ghetto" clothes. If that makes you uncomfortable, this is not the mall for you. I was definitely out of my element, but no one stared me down, begged for money, threatened me, tried to grab my purse, make cat calls, or anything else. All those "scary ghetto people", were...get this...walking around minding their own business shopping like anyone else.

I cant believe this mall is still open. I hadnt been there in years and occasionally stop in to see if I cant find something cheap, apparently others do too. I went to the mall directly from work and headed straight to the ladies room, which was closed for cleaning. So I headed back to the other side of the mall hoping to find another restroom and a shoe store caught my eye. I tried on some shoes and went to continue on my way to find the restroom when I realized I didnt have my cell phone. I went back to the store and the ladies working were extremely nice but hadnt seen it. I had Verizon track my phone and when I realized it was stolen I found two Hillsborough Sheriffs Deputies and asked to make a police report. They refused to do anything about it even thought someone had just stolen a six hundred dollar phone, which Im pretty sure is grand theft. Thanks to the helpful people at the shoe store and Verizon I was able to locate my phone hours later (in a very rough part of town). The downside of this mall 1- some patrons go there for cheap things, like things they dont have to pay for. 2- The county sheriffs office that has a substation is so lazy that they wont even make a police report on stolen property 3- the stores do not have security cameras. You would think with the amount of theft that goes on at the mall the stores would take some precautions to prevent loss by placing security cameras inside, but they dont. :(
