We are a Military family that came from Texas to Florida only a few weeks ago and I am 5 months pregnant, I was excited to check out some local baby stores! Today I walked into baby boomerang and the first thing the old rude lady that I assume own the place said to me was "excuses me, you need to put your daughters sucker away" not a hello welcome, not a hi how are you, just a very rude comment. That right there made my husband and Is mouth drop and realized you know what we dont even want to give you our business. You own a child store and the children cant even have a sucker?! But I decided to brush it off and continue to look around, as I was looking for a toy for my daughter (which by the way are not discounted at all, you can buy the same ones at walmart brand new and CHEAPER) I would notice my daughter would move a toy about 2 inches over from its spot, and this lady would walk right behind my daughter and move that toy two inches back to its spot. It was a bit ridicules how big of a deal she made it. That in its self is VERY bad bedside manners, she did this about 4 times before I decided to get up and LEAVE! Customer service if she knew what that meant....would have been A LOT more respectful of her to wait until her customer leaves her store then she can go around and move everything back to its spot. I could not believe how rude she was being, not to mention all the signs, moans, huffs and puffs she kept giving us. Absolutely ridicules! I will NEVER be back and I will make sure to let all my Military friends know about our first experience as well. Once upon a child right down the street had MUCH nicer staff, way cheaper things, and they also told me about their bad experience at baby boomerang! Sad to know I wasnt the only one. I will definitely let the Better Business Bureau know about my experience! I know better than to be treated like that when Ive owned a baby boutique back when I lived in Texas! A lady that works with and around children should no way be acting like this! Maybe its not her cup of tea to be working in the children department when she seemed so bugged the entire time my children were in her store. Very sad.

I came in with my baby girl to look find some warm clothes for a trip up north and maybe some toys. It was empty and just a older woman walking around..owner I guessed. Usually when entering an establishment you are greeted... yea, not here. No eye contact and smile, No hello, no good morning, no "can I help you find anything". NOTHING. So I walked to the left directly to the toys... ok... everything is ridiculously overpriced! Was I at a baby boutique or a thrift shop?? Even the obviously used and worn toys were 20$. I wondered over to the baby clothes to maybe find the clothes more affordable. yeah, keep dreaming. A pack of baby socks were 10$... umm, at Ross the same set are 4.99$ Its such a shame, because if this management spent more time thinking about repeat business and customer needs this place would be full. They are over stocked in many items, you would think that they would price lower. So I left empty handed..and withouth a "goodbye" either lol. I really thought that the itmes were priced so high because of their location - (Hyde park/downtown tampa). But then driving west on the SAME street going to the mall (figured if I didnt find cheaper prices, i might as well buy new), less than a mile, I find Once Upon a Child. annnnd Thank goodness I did! I found cute jackets, mittens, onsies, dresses all priced under 7$. Spent 22$ on 7 different things. I browsed the toy area and the same exact baby toys (almost new condition) were 50% less than Boomerang. Good, because I knew I wasnt crazy.

While they have nice clothes, toys, games, and books (the items I am searching for) I have never been in a place (that is supposed to be geared toward children) and experienced such rude customer service. Here in my latest experience: I walked into Baby Boomerang Childrens Consignment Store. We were not greeted with a hello or may I help you find something, but instead a "You know toys are not to be taken off the shelf, right? We keep losing parts." I was floored over the rude initial encounter, but told my son the "rule" and continued to look around when the same employee rudely looked at my son and another little boy while they were playing on a rocking toy and a Wheely Bug and said, "Oh you are too big for that," and began moving the toys back in their spot waving B off of the one he was sitting on. The weight limit on the toy is 50 lbs. and is recommended for children 3-6. My son is 42. lbs. and 3.5 years. I immediately left the store with kids in tow and made a comment about how I was not going to shop in a place where we were treated that way. Her response. "We are trying to sell your products. Have a nice day." I really cant believe it. I am so VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!. I have shopped there several times and have had very similar experiences, but today was the worst. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. Plus, their items are overpriced. For example, an Otis book stamped Dolly Partons Imagination Library (which is a free program) was marked $6.97. It was initially free.

Being a consumer of this establishment for many years, it is to my greatest pleasure to say that Baby Boomerang is my number one place to go to for quality baby supplies and merchandise. With the store consistently being rearranged, it always pleasantly surprises me to see how the owner/employees manage to keep an incredibly organized and orderly run store, especially considering the fact that children go throughout the place playing with toys. In regards to the negative comments, one must understand that not every consumer will have the chance to purchase what they want without letting the employees get confirmation that you are definitely interested in buying a product. It is a baby consignment store that runs on a first come, first serve basis. If you do not notify the workers that you are intending on purchasing something, you run the risk of someone else buying it before you. Consigning with Baby Boomerang has proven to be one of the wisest decisions Ive made here in South Tampa. They dont take in poor quality products, nor will they sell them to you. While one may think they are overpriced, I am happy to say that I have saved money while getting the best quality products here. A find that perhaps not all are able to value here in the South Tampa area.

Reading tons of negative reviews, but havent experienced the same, yet. Weve been once, a week ago. We arrived 2 minutes before closing on a Saturday, and the girls kept the store open so we could check things out to ensure we wanted to come back during business hours. I asked some product questions, of which the owner was very knowledgeable on, and we kept them there for 10-15 minutes after closing without complaint or scowl from them. Although I didnt buy anything, I felt like a desired customer, and will definitely return and hopefully find some good deals to purchase. I did notice that pricing is a little higher then other consignments, but if its too high then just dont buy? Speak with your wallet. My only complaint thus far are the hours. Not family friendly.. 10-5 weekdays, and 10-1 on Saturdays.. thats a TON ridiculous and will be the main reason I may never come back, because I work for a living. All of their competitors have normal, family-friendly hours and Im sure theyd notice a benefit from being open a little longer, even if just on Saturday. Give this store a shot either way and draw your own conclusions. Ill update my rating after purchase experience..
