I am a frequent shopper at this store due to location and convenience. Between my spouse and I, we shop here at least 2-4 times per week. If it were not so convenient, I would switch to another Publix. Physically, the interior of this location is nice, feels new and is well maintained. The problem areas of this store are its inventory and staff. I suspect that management is the problem. Over the past year, several of the items that I purchase are no longer on shelves. They are fairly popular or common items that most every other Publix store carries. These items vary from dept to dept. I have always known Publix to replenish if you make a request at the customer service counter. About a year ago, I made a couple requests that resulted in “one off” restocking. Naturally the items flew off the shelves, only to never be stocked again. What a nuisance to have to request common foods every month. Recently, after my request, it was clear they didn’t care and failed to phone me or restock the items. These were items they ALWAYS carried. The other major downfall of this store is the staff. I sometimes go out of my way to shop at the Oakland Park Blvd. store that feels much older and more hectic. However, I never leave that store without 3 – 5 smiling hellos from staff and having a least one chat. Checkout clerks and baggers are always so happy to receive my compliments of their friendliness. Conversely, the Commercial Blvd store seems unhappy and unfriendly. It’s bad enough that the cost of groceries is so high, but to check out with clerks and baggers that barely say hello let alone look at you is a downer. They also have one chatty, obnoxious, rude bagger that you can hear throughout the store. I go out of my way to avoid that line even if it is long! After the frustration of not finding items, feeling that you are overpaying for basic goods and then going through the checkout of doom, I feel like running out of the store and fleeing (always committing to shop elsewhere). I can only blame this store’s issues on management. It is clear that people are not happy working there because of it. I am not happy shopping there because they do not respect regular shopper’s needs. I feel like this store continues to dictate what they want me to buy or not buy. They make it difficult to spend money on the neighborhood level. Having to write this review is a clear indication that it is worth my time and gas to shop elsewhere. Side note: I have two bankcards that will not even allow me to charge at this location (or Marshalls in this strip mall). This particular Publix is on their "no charge" list due to fraudulent activity. Talk about downright inconvenience.

I like Publix in general, however the deli at this location sucks especially when using their online ordering. On several occasions I placed orders, and when I went to pick them up after they were supposed to be ready, they werent. On one occasion I was supposed to have a sub ready at1PM, and when I got there after 1PM, they hadnt even started making my order. At 1:25 PM my sub was ready, and my lunch break ruined. A couple of weeks ago on a Sunday night, I ordered some deli meat for 9PM. Got there about 9:15PM and again it wasnt ready. I got fed up, and complained to the manager. He comped my order, but I didnt get out of the store until after 9:40PM. The whole point of online ordering is to have the order ready to go by the time you get there to pick it up. I gave them another chance today and placed an order (#787-2967) for 1/3 lb of turkey. Got there and my order was wrong!!! They gave me 3/4 lb of turkey. I double check my email and the label on the package, and it clearly said 1/3 lb. Attempted to go to the guy slicing the deli meats, but there was a line of customers. I eventually went to the front of the line and got the guys attention. Advised him Im returning this since it was not correct and did not have the time to wait around for him to fix it since he was busy handling the walk in customers. Complained to the manager on the away out. The whole concept of placing an online order is to get in and out as quick as possible. It is a great idea, but poorly executed at this store.

This is Publix philosophy ""We will never knowingly disappoint you. If for any reason your purchase does not give you complete satisfaction, the full purchase price will be cheerfully refunded immediately upon request." BUT THIS STORE has a different policy, returns on small health & Beauty items, or spices etc etc, WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, EVEN IF ITS A PUBLIX BRAND ITEM, WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR A RETURN. This is the ONLY PUBLIX store I know of that has this policy. The reason behind this is they claim to control shoplifting. Isnt it strange the majority of customers that shop here are minorities......I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS AND WILL NEVER SPEND A PENNY HERE EVER AGAIN....SO BOTTOM LINE What PUBLIX is saying is a store patronized mostly by People of Color have SPECIAL return policies......SPREAD THE WORD, DONT SHOP HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....UPDATE I spoke with regionol director Mike Meredith, his response "Please rest assured that I have spoken with all involved to ensure the Publix policy is being followed and that all customers are treated in the Publix way.".........I spoke with the Lady store Manager to find out if this was true, NO nothing has changed....Publix executives are all LIARS, they sit around making big salary and bonus, and dish out lies......I now do my shopping at WAlmart FREE 2 day shipping, and SAFEWAY at DIxie and Commercial..You lost me forever
