Went in to this store earlier this week and inquired about the DIY dog bathing and bought dog suppliers. No mention was made of documentation or limited hours. Were on vacation and the plan was to bathe our Goldendoodle the evening before we left for home. Drove 15 minutes to go back this evening at 6:00, only to be curtly told by Jenniifer we cannot bathe our dog without proof of inoculations, etc. and, despite their hours clearly stating they are open until 8:00, we were told by we could not use the facilities after 6:30! Thus, there wasnt time for me to return with the required documents, which I had back in our RV. Interestingly, Petco welcomes dogs into their stores without proof of inoculations but inexplicably requires documentation to use the dog bathing facility. I asked about their posted hours and was told they have to start clean up at 6:30 in order to close at 8:00. Seems like the posted hours should say 6:30 then. When I spoke with the store associate manager, Brian, he shrugged it off saying he doesnt know much about the grooming department. We spend a significant amount of money at our local Petco in Kansas City and have never encountered anything but great customer service. This one in St.Augustine proves to be a definite exception.

Normally I enjoy shopping in Petco, but in this particular location in cobblestone I was "assisted" by a sales associate named kylee And the entire time she was apathetic, didnt smile, acted like my presence and existence itself was a burden and she absolutely did not want to be there. Shes apparently new and in training, my simple exchange took about twenty minutes- which is fine if youre learning how to work the computers, but her overall attitude was horrid and that of a bored snobby teenager. Personally I have worked retail management for 5+ years and if this girl were my employee she would have this documented or be fired. I called the store to complain and they really didnt care. Im concerned about her soft skills, the way she interacts with people not the computer, but their answer was that shes new and theyre short staffed so....oh well. I will not be shopping at this location again.

Being a regular Petco shopper, I was very disappointed today when the cashier would not give me 10% off because my Petco coupon had expired 11 hours earlier. I realize this was my mistake, but what sad customer service to not even extend a measly 10% discount (literally $2) to your customer in this situation. Very disappointing. I try to support local stores and economy but service like this, I may start buying my pet supplies online & save a trip to the store.

They are one of the few petco locations that have the option of the self service bathing facilities. And when you have a bigger dog this is a very good thing, alot of groomers dont do bigger dogs or are very expensive.
