Very spacious and clean store! I dont see too many people since its still pretty new but I think once most of the 50 road work is completed traffic at the store should pick up. Learned about the Academy brand when I was staying in Georgia and I originally thought it was a school related building because of its name. When I looked closer I saw that it was a sports store and decided to check it out. Glad to see one here in Orlando as more competition between Dicks & Sports Authority = better prices for the customers. I would say Academy is on par in terms of brands and types of merchandise available with the two other big names, except I found Academy to be way better stocked. It also appeared to be much larger than the other two as well and I found more clearance items at Academy. Helpful and friendly staff but most of them seem to be a bit bored since the store is usually empty. This is the Toys R Us of sporting goods.

The fire arms department is amazing I purchased a Core 15 AR15 Joseph helped me from start to finish showing me every AR15 in my price range , Joseph was very professional and it didnt end there I had an issue with the Hex mag that came with it & Joseph & a another gentleman there ( I apologize I didnt get his name) said no problem we will replace it ! I know that might not mean a lot to some people but to me it did because of Joseph Ive been back more time than I can count buying everything for my AR & pistols from them ! Excellent customer service they treat you like a friend..... Joseph thank you & please continue to treat people like you do & you will go far...

The rest of the store is nice and good customer service but the gun section isnt worth visiting if you want to buy a firearm. The prices are high and theres no negotiation. Go to a real gun shop with better selection/prices and the ability to negotiate price. Also the two kids working the gun counter seemed more interested in talking to each other than helping me and another customer that were there looking at guns for 10 minutes without being asked if we needed help. In addition, the knowledge about the firearms is lacking by the people at the gun counter.

I had to walk the store 2 times and still never got help from any one. Absolutely a terrible experience. I went to the front desk to ask for help and still 15 min latter no one showed up. All I needed was a pair of football pants. But the racks were missing so many sizes. It would have been a simple question of weather they had anymore in stock. Should have been a 5 min issue instead I wasted to much of my one day off. This place sucks

I was shopping for a pair of work boots for my son. Being the last day of tax free shopping for back to school, the place was very crowded. I couldnt find the size I was looking for so I seeked out help. The employees in the footwear department were very helpful. The young lady who assisted me was very personable. She checked stock and offered helpful suggestions. It was another good visit with Academy.

God I love this place. Twice the selection Sports Authority ever had, and half the condescending Employees of Dicks Sporting Goods. A recent holiday gift card got me out of the door with two pairs of new fitness shoes and some ankle-socks, but I could just have easily spent it on supplements or outdoors stuff. This place is a serious boon to the East Orlando camping club.

My fiancé was conditionally not approved for a firearm and was told to come back after 3 days and we can get the shotgun. Came back 3 days later like told and waited almost an hour for the manager and then she was rude about our confusion as to why we were told to wait 3 days and now we have to wait 30 days. We are looking somewhere else for a shotgun now.

I was looking all over Central Florida for a specific type of top water frog, Academy had them but they where hidden in the back. An Employee went so far out of his way to track them down for me! I bought 80 bucks worth! Love this store Customer for life! They have an AWESOME selection of fishing stuff! Massive selection of great spinner baits too!

I had a great experience in both the gun and fishing departments. Associate, Amber, was extremely helpful in loading fishing line onto two new reels. I think this store is beautiful, clean and well stocked. Every employee was friendly. The prices are fair and competitive. Great selection and prices on ammo. I will surely be shopping there often.

Good selection of items but the pricing is ambiguous and misleading. I dont know if it was an accident or on purpose but the displays on several items had special sale signs near items that were in fact not on sale. Many of the sale signs do not indicate that they are restricted to a particular color or style of clothing items.

Costumer service awful. Came in to purchase a shotgun stood in front of counter in front of 2 employees an not one acknowledge me. I asked them a question they gave me a short answer and continue to just sit there and talk to each other. Store is wonderful and have gr6 prices but Costumer service stinks.

This place is awesome! They have almost everything you can think of. I had one employee who wasnt very helpful and management ran to redeem my experience and they did. If one couldnt answer my question they found someone who could. I bought my son a kayak and they helped me load it safely.

Its a paycheck death trap filled cheap goodies. Great wood selection for smoking at the best price. Got a nice smoker selection. Bows are a bit over priced and staff is definitely not trained on the departments they work in, so do any research first

Price points are nice and you get lots of face time. Staff skill varies hugely and expect a clunky interface. Trust the inventory you see not what you hear by phone. Nice prices but shop carefully lots of Chinese crapola

Waited 30 mins just to be told the item on sale is sold out within a day and a half. No attempt to even substitute. I use to love shopping at academy, but a retailer that cant even back up a ad they put out

Called multiple times on two different days. Apparently nobody knows how to answer a telephone at this store. Plenty of other sporting goods stores to spend my money that has actual customer service.
