I received an offer in the mail with a very competitive offer for my CPO 2013 CR-V, and since I was thinking about purchasing a new Honda Odyssey I headed over to Brickell Honda. As suspected the very competitive offer was a bait and switch; they offered me $3,000 less than what the offer in the mail said. I decide to go ahead and buy a new 2016 Honda Odyssey EX-L, financing the difference between what I was getting for the CR-V and what the new car was. The person in finance runs my credit and has some issues getting me a good interest rate with Chase but he guarantees that he will get me a good interest rate with another bank the next day. I ask him how he can be so sure and he tells me "dont worry, thats my job". Fine. I sign the paperwork and they bring over the car. Upon inspecting it I notice the front fender and the drivers door were scratched. The sales rep tells me to bring it back another day so they can fix it. After spending almost 4 hours at the dealership and being almost 10pm I didnt want to make a big deal about it and I take delivery of the car anyways. The next day the guy in finance calls to tell me that he cant get me the interest rate he promised due to my VISAs expiration date. Even though I explained everything in detail the day before he insists that I didnt tell him that my VISA had an expiration date. At that point it was going to be an argument that wasnt going to get us anywhere so I let it go. Im already pissed as this is not the deal we agreed on. I take the car back to get side body moldings installed, and I ask if they can also take care of the scratches, but they tell me they only do detailing on Thursdays and that I need another appointment. The side moldings were incorrectly installed in every possible way. 1. they installed the ones that go on the sliding doors on the right side of the car, and the ones that go on the front doors on the left side of the car, 2. the ones on the front are not aligned with the ones on the back, and 3. they are installed higher than they shouldve been. I bring the car back on a Thursday to get the scratches removed, and to get the side body moldings fixed. It turns that what they only do on Thursdays is removing dents. Anyways, they managed to remove the scratch on the fender, but not the one on the door. They did a poor detailing job, you could see the surface looking hazy. As for the body side moldings they need to take them off and order new ones. At this point I decide to speak with the general manager. I have to say that I was VERY happy about his attitude, and his commitment to make everything right and make me happy. They take the car in, and after a while the general manager comes back and tells me that they cant fix it but since the car doesnt have many miles on it they could refund me the money, or offer me anything in stock. They didnt have another 2016 Odyssey EX-L in my color of choice, so I pick another color and off I go (after wasting over 3 hours). So far, even after wasting a lot of time and energy dealing with these issues I was happy that they offered me to replace the car. A few weeks go by, Im a happy camper, loving the car. I notice some vibration at highway speeds, nothing serious. I call the dealer and they give me a same day appointment. I drop the car and the service guy (VERY nice guy by the way) tells me it will be a couple of hours so I decide to stay there and work while I wait. An hour and a half in I go check with him on the status of the car and he tells me they are swamped so I will need to leave the car overnight. Why would they give me an appointment if they were so packed that day? Cars outside where crammed like sardines. There was a customer complaining that they lost his car. I went to pick up the car today, and after getting home I notice that the front bumper has a small scuff. Seriously? What the hell?! I can expect this if I park on the street (which I avoid at all cost), but not at the dealer. Part of me thinks Im being generous giving them 3 stars instead of 2.

Short version: Carlos Cruz and Gilbert Mendoza are unfriendly and conniving. With my newly purchased used vehicle in day 3 of a 6 month warranty and already having some serious issues, they were misleading, rude, and extremely deceptive. STAY AWAY from Brickell Motors. Long version: What an absolute nightmare. The vehicle was listed on AutoTrader and was reasonably priced. I called and went in for a test drive. The vehicle was ready when I arrived, and a test drive was completed. Once I sat down to talk about the price, the vehicle was suddenly $1,500 more than was listed, due to "dealer fees" and other fees. After negotiation a bit, and then leaving to think about the price, I finally called back and settled on a deal. Up until this point, all of the people were more than friendly. However, once I paid and the vehicle was in my name, this changed drastically. The first issue was that they had sent off my registration to the FDOT with my DL number in the VIN number field. I noticed this before I left the dealership, and had to get them to redo the paperwork - a fault on their part that seemed to be a terrible chore. Once that was fixed, I left and went home. 2 days later, the check engine light came on, the steering column was grinding, and there was excessive road noise about 30mph. I immediately took the vehicle in and spoke to Mr. Gilbert Mendoza who, without even letting me finish telling him what the issues were, began to blame me for every single issue in a very rude tone. After a lot of sighing and groaning, he said they would take a look at the vehicle. This was a Monday at 830am. That evening, the vehicle hadnt even been touched, and no one in the service department had orders on what to look at or that it even needed service. I talked to Mr. Mendoza who didnt remember me and Mr. Cruz who seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. Finally, after applying a little pressure, they gave me a loaner car with zero fuel. When I raised the issue that there was no fuel, they said they were not responsible for how much fuel was in the loaner vehicle. After 20 minutes or so, they relented and gave me a $20 fuel voucher. The Saturn SUV loaner they gave me was in horrible condition, yet it had a for sale sign in the window and was pulled right off the for sale line. Electronics were haywire, the engine sounded like it had server issues, and a multitude of other things. I can only imagine that this is the condition of the majority of their used cars, they just bet that most people wont bring it back in to get it fixed. Days passed, and again, no one seemed to know what was being done to my vehicle or whether or not it had been looked at. I went in twice a day, everyday, until that Thursday when I finally spoke to the owner of the dealership and the foreman of the shop (Oscar, the foreman, was the only decent person in the place) and they had my vehicle fixed. Over $600 in repairs, including a temp sensor that was $300, 4 new tires (discount, off brand tires), and fixing the steering linkage. They wanted to blame and intimidate me into thinking these repairs were my fault and that they were not going to fix them. All in all STAY AWAY from the used car department. Carlos Cruz and Gilbert Mendoza are there to swindle you. In the end, with repeated calls to the owners of the dealership, most of which were misdirected to disconnected numbers, they stepped in and finally got the vehicle right. I will not be going anywhere near this dealership in the future, and would rather go to a more reputable place like Maroone or AutoNation.
