This place was a great find! Ive been going through some of my game collection that needed some pairing down...I felt that I got a fair trade-in value for my common N64 games I brought in. My store credit was used to pick up a Gameboy Advance SP, which unfortunately had an issue with charging. Stephen, the person who assisted me with this issue, tried multiple different avenues (cleaning the connection, changing the charger, changing the battery). We couldnt find a way to fix the used SP, but he offered to put the original credit towards another, higher model used SP and took 25% off the difference for my trouble! My issue is fixed and I have a newer model SP that only cost me $15 out of pocket. Everyone that Ive met behind the counter has addressed my issues (trade-ins, returns, sales) quickly and with an obvious passion. The actual store itself has a great selection of all kinds of games, and is VERY clean to boot. You can also tell that the owners care about not only the business, but the gaming community. To that point - they have a whole other section of the business to hold gaming tournaments and an arcade in the last 3rd of the store with plenty of classics (NFL Blitz, Turtles in Time, multiple Pinball machines, ect.). At no point did I receive any emotion other than enthusiasm and helpfulness during my SP saga above...if only other game stores handled these issues like Video Game Rescue. This is a mom-and-pop store to support, and they have earned my business through their excellent, quick customer service and fair trade-in practice.

Video game rescue is awesome! They are THE place to find old games, systems, cables, etc to make your hearts retro desire come true. They also have an arcade in which to play games, pop figurines and novelty items, fun stuff like SURGE and the occasional super neat item like a Star Trek purse. They host board game parties, gamer girl nights, super smash bros parties, and more! The owners are extremely nice and all items are very reasonably priced. The shop feels like a retro clubhouse, like stepping into the room of that cool older kid at school who had everything neat at his fingertips....but way bigger! Go to them and be amazed, then tell all your friends!

The best video game store in the Jacksonville area. This place is a haven for all things nerdy, including video games, toys, anime, and more. The owner, Dustin, is a class-act and very friendly and welcoming. The prices are extremely reasonable and the atmosphere is superb. They even have a game room in the back where you can test out your game before you buy it. They have events on a regular basis like board game nights and gamer girl nights. Video games are available from Atari to Xbox, even for systems which I was surprised like Famicom and Super Famicom! If youre in the area, you gotta check this place out.

Great customer service. Games are really good prices on common/semi rare games. Rare games are about the same price if not a little less compared to most online sources. You just dont have to pay the shipping price ++. Console accessories, movies, collectors toys, and nerd memorabilia and great prices also. Im a repeat customer and I come to blow some money every 2-3 weeks. Make sure to bring a few singles to play the arcade in the back or to rent game time on a console. Great snack and drink selections. Ill be back as always.

This shop is amazing. Not only is it owned by some of the nicest people you will ever meet, but its also the cleanest and most fun retro stop to explore in Jax. I always hate going into a store full of dust and I love how well maintained they are. They hold tons of events during the week and weekends for local gamers and they HAVE AN ARCADE!!! Retro arcade machines and all! And they have SURGE! Seriously, come support a small business success and your love of gaming. -A Very Happy Customer

Absolutely a great gem of a local video game store. I am new to the area and found this store due to its great reviews and it did not disappoint. Decent selection of retro games and they indeed do have fair pricing. I believe I spoke to the owner who was very approachable and nice. Bought a nice hidden gem Eternal Sonata on 360. I absolutely intend on coming back. Im glad to have found a nice small shop to fill my gaming needs here in Jacksonville.

Did some print work for Dustin and was psyched to find out it was for his soon to be Retro Video Game shop. I immediately started asking him what NES & SNES games he had C.I.B. He followed up with pictures of everything he had in stock. After I decided which ones I wanted, he followed up with a great price on them! I live no where close to Jacksonville, FL. If I end up in that state in the near future Im taking time out to go check out his shop!

This is an amazing little Jacksonville gem. The staff is friendly and all about the gaming community. They all really care about the hobby and sharing their love of gaming with the wider community. We met the owners, Dustin & Deanna and Kyle, their tech. Everyone was really cool and helpful. Prices are great and the experience is awesome. Definitely recommend!!!

Cool store and wonderful customer service! My fiancé and I were visiting Jacksonville and stopped by the store and had a great time browsing the selection and playing with the pinball machines! We ended up purchasing 3 CIB Nintendo 64 games. The associate, Stephen was super helpful and nice to us. He answered all of our questions and we had a friendly chat.

The store is huge and has a nice selection of games and gaming system. We went for the arcade which was small and disappointing and not as cool as an article in the Folio made it sound. I carry a small backpack as my purse and was required to leave it at the counter. I hate stores with this policy and usually make it my policy not to shop at them.

Great selection of games for a wide variety of systems. Absolutely cool Arcade with Pinball like Mario Brothers and South Park, Fighting games like Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Killer Instinct, Beat Em Ups like TMNT and classics like Pac-Man and Galaga! Also has retro toys and stuff from the 80s and 90s! They also do Smash Bros and Board Gaming nights.

The best place in Jacksonville! You should never go to Gamestop again! Video Game Rescue is all about the customer, the hobby and the gaming community. My 5 year old loves to watch me play pinball and the staff is always so kind to the both of us. I only wish they would sell me some stuff off the wall.

The store is pretty much best place you could ever think of going for anything video game related. The friendly customer service also adds to the overall incredible experience. If you love video games or video game merchandise this is the place to go!! They just won me as a permanent customer.
