Brings out the inner child in you. This is a cute little place catering to the teenage crowd. Its bright and cheery with kpop playing on the tv. I didnt expect to find a place selling traditional Korean treats in Jacksonville. Their ice cream is made to order. You pick out the base flavor and the milk, of which they have many different choices to satisfy any dietary restrictions. Almond milk, whole milk, 2%, non fat, etc. Its prepared in a pan that is -35 degrees. Once the milk has been frozen and mixed, you have the choice of toppings to add. Note that they are not really toppings. They will be incorporated into the ice cream a la stone cold creamery. The result is a less soft version and surprisingly creamy. The Ive cream is great, but what attracted me was the taiyaki. Its a"waffle" in the shape of a fish stuffed with your choice of goodies. Traditionally they are filled with a cream or sweet red bean. This reminds me of my childhood and although traditionally a cold weather food, tasted just as good as i remember. They also have a shaved ice, patbingsu, which may be an acquired taste. However i highly recommend trying it, especially on a hot summer day. The service is also very friendly which just tops off the experience. Overall, A great unexpected treat in Jacksonville.

Ive been coming here often, shortly after they opened 5 years ago, when they were known as Three F(x). Its a really awesome Korean ice cream shop, and they have the best ice cream, which they make right in front of you. You can choose what kind of milk you want so its Vegan and lactose intolerant friendly. They have many flavors, but you can bring in your own item and have them make ice cream from it. They also have Taiyaki. Its a Japanese style waffle which they make in the shape of a red snapper (hence the name "taiyaki"). They fill it with things like Bovarian cream, apple and cinnamon, etc. All the flavors are delicious. You should definitely have one. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing, I hang out here with my friends all the time. They play Kpop on their TV and its always interesting to watch and listen to. This is a good place for birthdays, too!! The owners are awesome, the staff is friendly, and the food is great. Theres no reason why you shouldnt try it once....unless you dont live in Jacksonville, Fl. :3

I randomly yelped ice cream and ended up here. Im glad that I gave this place a try. This is a very small ice cream shop, there are a handful of tables. They offer lots of different flavors of ice cream. It can be overwhelming when you look at the long list. When you order: pick your flavor, then what type of milk you want it made in and then the size. They offer regular milk, almond and soy milk. Two toppings are included in the price. They mix up the flavoring with the milk, place it on a cold plate and scrape the milk continuously to create the "ice cream". They ask what the two toppings you want and then fold the toppings in the ice cream itself. This all takes about 5 minutes. I tried the mint ice cream with almond milk in a waffle cone. It was pretty good. I also ordered a waffle shaped like a fish stuffed with nutella and that was really good with the ice cream. This was a fun and different experience and I would come here again. I want to try the thai tea flavor next time.

Note: This place is now called 5FX, same place just different name! They make your ice cream in front of you from scratch in just minutes, all with fresh ingredients that you decide. Vegan and lactose-intolerant friendly, as you can choose soy milk or almond milk! They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from, and for one price you also get to pick from mix-ins and choose a freshly-made waffle bowl or cone, or a regular bowl. Also, you can get taiyaki, which are almost like a waffle-type texture filled with your choice of fillings. Prices are very fair considering how much you get even just with a small size ice cream or the size of one taiyaki! They even have a loyalty program card so you can get 1 free after you buy 9. Their hours are really reasonable too, which is awesome because its hard to find places open later. Try them, you wont regret it!

This place makes some of the best ice cream youll ever taste RIGHT in front of you! You cant get any fresher, the staff is friendly and always ready to make suggestions to help you with your choices. If youre a fan of waffles, try the Boston cream taiyaki, it is a (almost) too cute to eat fish shaped waffle encasing a filling of your choice (sweet or savory) The process of working the cream, milk, lactose free milk or yogurt of your choice is a little time consuming so please make sure youre not in a hurry if you come and try to be patient with the process. The have both indoor and outdoor seating but people typically grab and go taking their prizes home to enjoy.

We were there later on a Saturday (Around 9:00pm) and the line went to the door. It was a solid 20 minute wait but seating was available for anyone who wanted to get off their feet. We ordered a Nutella Taiyaki which was very good. I had the blueberry ice cream with coconut and Nestle Crunch. It was cool watching each order being made by hand but this was also the reason for the long line. The ice cream was OK. There wasnt much of a blueberry flavor and it was more icy than creamy. Overall everything was good! Im definitely interested enough to try more flavors and different fillings for the taiyaki.

Ive been here multiple times in the past few months (enough to fill up my punch card). Its so good and a good option (soymilk and almond milk) for those who are vegan, lactose intolerant, or just want to save a few calories over whole milk/yogurt. There is a wide variety of flavors, including unique ones likes taro and green tea. I havent had the taiyaki personally, but the people I go with seem to like it. The prices could be seen as bit on the expensive side, but overall, I believe its worth it.

I love 5fx, and the quality is consistent between this location and the San Jose store. I really enjoy the cream cheese, coffee and thai tea flavors in my ice cream. They offer a lot of variety, and a small is more than enough for me. They also have these super cute little fish shaped waffles that you can get filled with fruit, cream cheese, or something savory like peanut butter or ham and cheese. My kids love watching them make the ice cream on what we have called the "cold hibachi" plates.

My whole experience was wonderful. Ive never had made to order ice cream before. The banana ice cream has a delicious rich flavor. Im always very critical because banana is a hard flavor to get right, in my opinion. The staff were very friendly and patient as I stared at the menu far longer than needed. Ice cream mixer and I chatted as he skillfully blended my order in front of me. Although I cant say the decor is impressive, everything appeared clean and maintained.

Took a trip to what is now definitely called "five fx Ice Cream" and boy was it an amazing. I ordered a taro taiyaki which is like a pancake filled fish with a delicious filling to complement my taro ice cream. They played kpop in the background which I didnt mind considering that their management mainly consisted of asian folk. This place is definitely the go to spot for after your meal or for a date. I am coming back eventually. Thank you FIVE FX ICE CREAM!
