BEWARE of rude customers! *This is long, but its part review/rant.* First, I need to make it clear that the employees at this store are extremely nice and knowledgeable, its the CUSTOMERS who can be JERKS! Not all customers, of course, but there were quite a few while I was there who seemed to forget their manners (or maybe they didnt have any to begin with). My bad customer experience all started when an employee informed us 5 minutes before opening that everyone needed to form a line and it would be first-come-first-served. Thats when a bunch of customers (who had just arrived) rushed to the door. These people actually ran to get in line knowing there were people (some of them elderly with oxygen tanks who were slow movers) who had arrived well before them (1 hour to be exact). They then had the nerve to get upset when the people who had arrived first walked to the front of the line to take their rightly deserved spot. I was one of those people who had arrived early, and I was appalled at not only how selfish and rude some of the customers were, but also how bad they were willing to treat the elderly! Im not elderly, but I was raised to treat them with care and respect. Shame on those who acted like animals at the Apple Store today! To make my customer experience even worse, once inside, a man who had been standing further back in the line with a woman decided he was going to take his aggression out on ME. So as he was walking past me once he got inside the store, and he purposely kicked me - hard - in the ankle! Yes, you read that right, he physically assaulted me! I said something to the employee and my husband, but I refused to make a big scene. I was just in shock that this grown man was so upset over having to wait a few extra minutes (unlike the long hour I waited) that he didnt even care that he assaulted a woman who was half his size - and this was all because he wanted to act childish and throw a tantrum because he didnt get there first. What is wrong with people these days? You want to be served first? Then show up early people! And be prepared to wait. Bring your phones, iPads, iPods, laptops, Apple watches, whatever, just be prepared to wait (and please do so patiently and without assaulting other customers). The only reason I didnt give this place 5 stars is because I almost couldnt find it. Its been a while since I went to the St. Johns Town Center Apple Store, and I didnt know they had moved. Their Apple sign was barely visible since it blended in with the wall and it looked like it was all part of the Tesla store. So if anyone is having trouble finding this place, I suggest looking for the Tesla store. Its right next to it. Other than that, this is a nice store. Very clean. Awesome customer service. Yes, theres a wait here, but it is what it is. You dont like it, then shop online.

I hate this store..and most apple stores - but this one is particularly bad. Their approach to scheduling appointments at their genius bar is nothing short of asinine stupidity. They schedule a bunch of people at the same exact time (seriously) - so your appointment time means almost nothing. Instead you need to make sure youre one of the first of those people to sign in for your appointment - so you better get there at least 30 min early. Otherwise youll be waiting at least 30 min, probably more...either way you have to spend 30 min waiting. The place is constantly PACKED, its SO loud & SO crammed...not even remotely close to the type of experience you associate with a top of the line piece of equipment that costs literally thousands of dollars. I wouldnt even associate this with a bottom of the line product...honestly I think Id rather talk to people in India who have no idea how to help me beyond reading their scripted responses - i think that would be better than having to go into this store. I love apple...my household of 2 adults has 5 MacBooks, a mac mini, 3 iPads & 5 iPhones (2 new, 3 old) - and probably a few old iPods. I never thought Id hate anything about apple...until I had to go into their stores...and then I didnt even realize just how bad it could get until I had to go into this one... Right now I have the most ridiculously trivial problem with my macbook - it needs literally ONE screw adjusted...one tiny screw that sits under the touchpad that I could fix myself, but Id void the warranty. Since this is less than 6mths old & cost over $2500 - I just cant risk it. So instead I have to spend at least 2hrs of my day (if Im lucky) going to this place. Its depressing just thinking about it, but my only other option: drive over 85 miles to another state (St Simons Island, GA) to the closest authorized Mac repair place...a 3hr round trip drive. For the first time Im beginning to wonder if its really worth it...$2500+ for this laptop - yet I have to spend an obscene amount of time getting ONE screw adjusted...

My Son made an appointment at this Apple Store in Jacksonville for a repair job to his iPhone, which he had for just a month. They told him it was "liquid damage" and could not repair. He could however exchange and replace for new iPhone at $199. What I believe is they are running a SCAM and that these iPhones will absorb body perspiration which renders the iPhone useless. He didnt drop it it water as they suggested. He purchased the Apple iphone from AT&T Store with Insurance but the deductjble is $199 - there is something seriously wrong with this whole set-up and it should be investigated by the authorities for unscrupulous business practices. As regards the Customer Service - its a complete joke with these Blue Shirt kids talking to each other and not helping anyone. We were waiting an hour before anyone got to us, even with an appointment. I must admit though that the manager, Wendy I think her name was,is very cool calm and collected when explaining about "liquid Damage" and Apple not responsible. Makes me think she is dealing with this problem on a regular basis. I just found out now that there is a Class Action lawsuit for $53 Million and that customers covered in the class are those who were denied warranty repairs or replacements on certain iOS devices because of Apples liquid damage policy; if a white liquid contact indicator (LCI) tape near the headphone jack or dock connector had turned pink or red due to moisture, Apple would refuse service. But, as noted by Wired, the maker of the tape (3M) has stated that the indicator can be triggered by humidity, not necessarily water itself, meaning the tape could potentially turn pink without contact with the liquid form of H20. I guess they havent learned their lesson yet!

Ive given this place so many opportunities to shine over the last two years, but their (normal floor, non-genius) staff is horrendous. The first example was when I made an appointment here to get my airport router repaired for an atypical hardware malfunction. I have applecare for mac, which covers the router as well. They vehemently disagreed, despite reading the warranty explicitly stating that it is covered. I had to call apples phone support to get an assistant on the line to explain the situation to the store staff, at which point they halfheartedly walked away while I waited 45 minutes for a replacement unit. The second time these guys sucked was for an iPhone 5 screen that was shipped to me with a defective screen. Instead of a replacement unit, they offered to replace the screen under warranty on site, which is awesome, but what I received was a new screen and a bent iPhone, that they proceeded to accuse me of bending. On a brand new phone, that they inspected before repair.. What? How the Apple Store, with its certified repair geniuses, manages to bend an iPhone during a screen replacement on the iPhone with the most easily-replaceable screen, is beyond me. Further, they refused to fix their own problem. I ended up driving to Orlando to never go to this Apple store again. They are incompetent and typically rude to college students, and dont go out of their way to help even though "theyre the only Apple Store around". I was always courteous and understanding, polite to the staff, even through their errors, but they still treated me like I in the wrong. Thanks but no thanks, Ill go elsewhere.
