We frequently shop the Fort Myers City Furniture and have made several large purchases from this location. We found the matching server to our dining table (which we paid full price for only a few months prior) on clearance as a display model. We paid for the item with our sales associate Kyle with some kind help from David and left the item since there wasnt anyone left in the warehouse to bring it down and wrap it for the night. We told him it would be after 5pm and he told us it would be ready. The next day after work we start driving to the store to pick it up. I decided to call to make sure it was ready and where we should bring our vehicle. The first call was answered by Denise and when I asked for Kyle she told me he was gone for the day and asked if Id like his voicemail. I said no and that I am just on my way for a pickup. Her response was "Ok, have a nice day then" and hung up. There was no follow up questions or assistance offered. Not having my questions answered, I decided to call back and ask for a manager to make sure my questions would be taken care of. The manager who answered was John Wayne. If Id have known how rude he was going to be, I would have recorded the call. He was arrogant and so eager to have Kyle call me back that I had to ask if he was actually a manager. I cant believe he earned his position in leadership. He told me its ready for pick up just as long as my girlfriend and I could load it ourselves since there wasnt a warehouse person to help. He also told me it wasnt wrapped during the day and again that there wasnt a warehouse employee in to wrap it for us unless wed like to come back again tomorrow. When I asked why someone there couldnt wrap it for us to ensure it wouldnt get damaged during transport, he informed me that he was a manager and it wasnt his job to wrap furniture for people. He then told me its the customers responsibility to bring their own wrapping materials. His only solution was to offer a refund even though we were not interested in getting our money back. When we arrived at the store moments later, John Wayne was no where to be found and a guy, Michael told us to pull around back and hed help us load the item. Michael was very friendly and helpful. Just from the small interaction we had with him, it seems Michael would make a far superior manager over John. If this store would like to keep loyal customers and good word of mouth, I suggest they reconsider John and Denise. They are bad for business.

This company is incompetent at best and dishonest at worst. We were told there was plenty of what we wanted in stock for several items. Then when we wanted to purchase ($8200.00 worth) suddenly there were missing pieces on nearly everything. One was completely unavailable as it was discontinued despite still be advertised on the floor. We made the mistake of our lives and proceeded with the purchase anyway. Regardless of how much you spend and when you purchase if you dont take delivery within 7 days they cant guarantee the inventory will be there since they will not lock it for you like all their competition will. When they finally are ready for delivery they call the day before and tell you whats coming. Then on the day of delivery they call you and tell you that some pieces promised 24 HOURS EARLIER are on backorder. They didnt know this 24 hours ago or did they know and just want to get the inventory off the floor so now if you wanted to cancel the order you would have to pay a restocking fee? This happened NOT ONCE BUT TWICE and we still have not completed the order. If you can shop anywhere else, do it. UPDATE!!!! After vehemently complaining to their management, Ryan (Fort Myers manager) saved the day for us and them. He first started with total accountability, no excuses. Just what an upset customer wants to hear. Then he somehow got a complete bed to us the next day. They delivered at 7pm but they did deliver and we were able to finally move into our new home. Also, the customer service follow up was phenomenal. Everyone that called was aware of the order history and apologetic for the past issues. We received numerous calls from service looking to keep us informed of the progress of the remaining order items and confirm successful delivery of the items. They may have screwed up in the beginning but we have to give them credit on the recovery. Get to the right people and youll find a company that does want to do it right. We have updated the review to 3 stars from the original 1 star for this reason.

Worst buying experience ever. Purchased Complete queen size bed room set. Bedroom set came out to just under $3,000 with taxes and fees. Come day of the delivery, driver shows up to my home and informs me that the bed (head+ footboard) is on Back order. I said, Fine lets call customer service and find out when I can get it. I get on the Phone, and was informed that the piece was on backorder and not available till 10/12/15. Really? what Am I going to do with out the bed. Delivery guys were canceled and they went on there way. I call my sales person, Jen. I explained to her the situation she told me she would call me back after speaking to her boss. Jen calls me back 20 min later. Apologizes for the situation and said she could lend us a loaner frame in till our came in. I said cool no worries. Here is where the problems start. Since I Bought a platform bed that dose not use a bedspring, I only purchased a mattress, her boss Dave could not lend be a box spring. Jen offered to get us in another set. Drove back up from Naples, Jen showed us one that was the closest. new set cost more a difference of $150 with a 10%discount. No big deal, but why should I eat the extra cost. Jen did everything she could. Her boss the store manager Dave was super rude I asked him to make things right, and he would not budge. I told him he has 2 options, either lose 3k or $150. He ignored me, and I asked for a refund. Jen was great she did everything she could. Her boss Dave is a POS manager with no business sense and no customer service skills. I took my 3K and went to EL dorado In FT myers and bought a new set which will be here in 4 days. I will never in my life step foot inside a city furniture again. To Jen, Im sorry for all the aggravation, on your Saturday. Your boss really needs to find a new career. Thanks for all your help. If I ever run into you somewhere Ill buy you a drink. Thank you

The salesman was very nice, their selection is very good and prices are good. Purchased $10,000 worth of furniture for a vacation home. Then we had the same problems everyone else on here is complaining about. No same day /next day delivery. Pieces were delivered in drips and drabs, some on back order etc. Funny, when we were in the store we had the salesman double check that the items were in stock. We explained the we needed to have the furniture delivered while we here before we went back home up north. They had 10 days to deliver. Well that never happened. We called to see what would happen with the furniture that still had to be delivered and nobody would be in the house. They said they couldnt guarantee they would hold the pieces until we would be back in 2 months. We had to speak with a few different people to see what could be done since it was their fault they couldnt deliver in a timely manner as promised. We went back home with the promise of "well see what happens". When we returned they did deliver the rest of the furniture in drips and drabs again. Everyday was ruined sitting around for one or two pieces to be delivered. Twice they didnt show up or came very late, while we sat here waiting. Now the quality; you get what you pay for. The look of the furniture is very good but it is not high quality. But you are not paying high quality prices. I think we got what we paid for and are happy with what we got. We have had to do some minor repairs because one couch was delivered with the bottom/underskirt hanging off (didnt notice when it was delivered) so we had to staple it up. A few decorative nail heads had to be hammered in etc...this furniture is in a vacation house so it doesnt get a lot of abuse and so far is holding up well.
