The selection is small compared to Barnes & Nobles. They dont have Wifi however i will admit the customer service by the employees is great. My reason for the 3 star review was due to the fact that when i wanted to purchase a desert from their small Cafe inside the store, a young man approached me took my order and as soon as he saw me pull my book he said: Sir are you going to eat a full meal?because if your not than we cannot have you sit here and read your book this is only for customer who will eat a full course meal. before i could reply the gentlemen next to me was having a soup and reading his book and said HOW RUDE! needless to say i requested for the server to cancel my order and left. I would like to add that they had about 3 or 4 empty tables and no people waiting.

What a shame! Usually these guys are spot on with service & freshness of food, but last night (Saturday) they seemed to be having a... not-so-great night. 1) My tuna-tomato-albacore-capers sandwich was missing the tomato (my favorite!). 2) When I asked the waitress for the tomato, she nodded "yes" she could bring it to me... then completely ignored me. 3) When my friend arrived at 10:30pm, she asked if she could order, but the waitress told her the kitchen was closed early "due to the rain." Mind you, Id phoned earlier & was told the kitchen would close at 11:00pm. Yikes! Basically, we left disappointed. Snap out of it, guys! Youre Books & Books, not Burger King!

I went to Books & Books on a weekday with a friend to study and have coffee/snacks. When we tried to enter the store, the owner/manager stopped us and asked if we were planning on eating lunch. We told him we would like coffee instead. He then refused to let us into the area with the tables. He told us, "This is NOT a study hall." He was incredibly rude, so we left. It is a shame because this place seems cute and I buy a lot of books. I probably would have been a great customer, and I definitely would have been back for lunch someday. But I will never go there again after being treated like a criminal for attempting to study IN A BOOKSTORE. Wow.

Wouldve gone down there today and given your store my business but your book signing wont allow outside items to be signed. Dont know if thats YOUR rule or the AUTHORs but either way its ridiculous. I was going to drive 1.5 hrs down there and 1.5 hrs back and spend money on the authors book. Everyone wins. Except you just called me back to tell me the author wont sign anything BUT the book. If I BUY his book, why does it matter if he signs something else. Silly, ridiculous, and just a waste of time. Saved me lots of money on books, gas, and half my day so thank you! :)

Not worthy to be so aggravated. I used to have lunch or dinner at least once a week there, check out books and buy them . I used to spend roughly $80 a week there. When meet up group chose it as a venue for the meetings, I was very pleased, however the manager of the restaurant was rude and kept giving unwelcoming views to our French book club, in addition I started to pay attention to the staff, especially a guy that seems to enjoy snapping books histerically in front of customers. I decided to enjoy my limited free time somewhere else. Not worthy the hassle.

Excelente ambiente para un rato tranquilo y un buen libro en el día o en la noche. También ofrece un ambiente en la terraza para picar y socializar bastante agradable con música o interpretaciones en vivo por las noches. Un sitio distinto y agradable.

I have been going to Books & Books for over 12 years when I was a single woman. Now, my husband and I enjoy this cultural venue for its atmosphere and good food. Next year, we will bring our kid to their great childrens section. This bookstore is unique, and it has european flair to it. We highly recommend this books store. Check out their calendar of events for adults and children! No other bookstore offers such a variety of cultural events.

One of the country’s preeminent indie booksellers, Miami native Mitchell Kaplan opened Books & Books at the beginning of the 1980’s, originally in Coral Gables. There are now three locations in Miami—one on Lincoln in Miami Beach, and one at Bal Harbour Shops, in addition to Coral Gables (plus a Grand Cayman and Westhampton Beach location). The staff recommendations will help you land on the perfect beach, plane, etc. read. Literary lovers must go.

not the best employee as i was asking for the wifi password she says its only for staff so i turned around and heard her telling her friend cause when they have wifi they study here all day ??!! who says that very rude experience but the atmosphere is nice if your just interested for grabbing a coffee waiting for it until your server comes or served with a yellow smile on their faces nop! next door is a better place and a better cafe ..

Great community staple where you can browse as long as your heart pleases. The bar and dining area outdoors is a plus and great for singles or groups. Theres so much to explore and see between the two sides of B&B. They also host many authors and signings from time to time so definitely recommend checking them out from time to time. On the pricey side as youd expect for the Gables.

Ok listen here, not only are there an incredible selection of books to buy and a wonderful array of events for authors of all types, the service is absolutely wonderful and the Mac and cheese is to die for. I literally sometimes go just for the Mac and cheese. Its a wonderful location and the ambiance is perfect if you want to study or just hang out

Small and stuffy describes the managers attitude as well as the store space. They sometimes have good live music outside but it is often too loud. Book selection is limited. Cafe has Vegan options but all the food is so expensive. The staff discourages reading there! It is more of a social scene with a European flair. See and be seen. Ill pass.

This place is filled with employees who dont feel like working. Was ignored by several servers who made eye contact but didnt bother to take our order. I could understand this if they were busy but many tables were open. After 15 min my husband got fed up and we left. They probably were happy that the work we represented walked out.

Scenery and layout is a fresh change from what you see at Barnes and Noble, great café but a bit on the pricey side, has the latest and greatest books but dont come here expecting a bargain. If anything Id buy the book at Barnes and Noble but Id read it at Books & Books.

This place does not get enough love. The food is delicious and there are not many healthy places like it in the area. I wish they delivered! Its right on lincoln, the portions are enormous and its reasonably priced. Love all the vegetarian and vegan options!

This place is awesome and super accommodating! When I have gone with large groups or my bookclub, they have no problems giving you separate checks. The outdoors seating is so pretty and on weekends they have live jazz which is always a plus!
