I have experienced better service at Publix. This location is not one of the best at all. I went there on 3.11.17 to buy some chicken. I wanted the thighs to be cut in half because in my culture we use small pieces of meat for stewed and curried chicken. The Custom Cut sign in the meat section must be a joke because the employee there looked at me like I was from another planet and told me that they are not allowed to cut those parts of meat, and he could be fired if he did. I do not blame the employee, but I do blame the store. How can you cut small pieces of other kinds of meat but not chicken? This is cultural ignorance for want of a better phrase. There is a West Indian aisle in the store yet you cannot cater to West Indians when it comes to custom cut meat? Get it right Publix Alachua!

This Publix is very well maintained. They have a lot of selections, fresh foods that are made daily and the quality is good. We bring my nephew up from SOuth Florida with us a few times a year and he has health problems due to food allergies. Most of the foods that he eat is from Publix because they can guarantee that it will be free of certain types of foods. They have more choices of fresh produce, awesome meat department and their staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. If you ask their bakery if this food can be free of this type of food you get an actual answer. At other grocery stores you ask them a question and even their department head cant get an answer or they say "dont know".

Once again, the wait to get sliced deli meat was close to 20 minutes and that was only because the woman in front of me got disgusted waiting and left. The whole store was so freezing cold (again) that I abandoned my list and will have to shop elsewhere tomorrow. They were out of ads again, so I really dont know if I missed good buys or not. Publix has been my store forever, but lately I have been shopping more and more at Winn Dixie and our local Hitchcocks. After todays fiasco I am going to stop at a less convenient Publix if I decide that there is some item that I can only find at Publix. This Publix is very disappointing...but clean and near my house...what a shame!

I was very excited when this publix was built. I would stay away from the sandwich deli, though. That sandwich bar is a food safety NIGHTMARE, my wife was in line and look in the the veggie buckets and everything was cross contaminated and there were flies crawling around in the bread box... Theres also a larger man with a mustache that works the counter that thinks its funny to hassle customers... The hot deli is decent, I grab some food every couple of weeks and the staff working THAT part of the counter is also quick and helpful :).

The employees as well as management are always very helpful on every visit I make to this publix. Publix in general does a fantastic job on training. If I need help findind something any one i ask knows where it is and they will go get it or show me sometimes there could be 2 or 3 people helping me. They bag the groceries the way I want and put them in my car exactly how I want them to be. I only unload the cold stuff when I get home, then after a much needed rest from shopping I get the other stuff out later. Love Publix, Donna

Today at roughly 11am the store had one express lane and one regular lane open with 10 people waiting in the regular lane. Cashier said that everyone that could help was on break. I asked wheres the managers that normally step in and she said she didnt know. This store needs corporate to step in and get it up to Publix standards. Publix is normally the gold standard of grocery stores but this one is a disgrace to the system.

Beautiful store. The staff are all top notch. We often get home, unload the groceries to find out food is months out of date. They are almost always understaffed in all areas so prepare to wait, although the staffs personalities often make up for it. Do your shopping before noon or after 8pm if you dont want to spend all day in line.

I am from New Zealand and publics has a lot of the foods its like my comfort food I just wish that they had the sausages I Irish bacon and I know I can get it at Hitchcocks but I dont want to go there publics has an amazing bakery to plus some of the meds I take are free even antibiotics

Love our new Publix. Staff is always well trained, smiling, courteous, & aware of customers needs as we move throughout the store. This Alachua store has outdone Gainesvilles Hunters Crossing Publix, --- & I didnt think that would be possible. Thank you, Publix! Judy Saxon

It is July 4th weekend, I walked in at 10:00am Friday. The Produce looked fantastic. The Grocery dept was fully stocked as the dairy and Meat dept. It is a beautiful managed store and the employees are helpful and polite. I love it.

Favorable. The employees at Publix are always Pleasant and helpful. Im hoping they will check prices with hitchcocks, because theyre broccoli is a dollar fifty a bunch less then yours! Thats a large difference.

Do not buy cakes here. The cakes look nothing like the picture and the bakers decorating skills are lacking. Ugly cakes for the price.

This is a large, clean Publix with everything you would expect, and a modern Gas Station on site.
