Before I begin, let me be clear: I am NOT a makeup person, so a store like Ulta is normally more or less my antithesis. Having said that, when I accompanied my comparatively makeup-obsessed sister to Ulta today, I was really impressed by the high level of service. Noticing that the one salespersons makeup looked great, my sister asked her for recommendations for a new foundation, and Im happy to report that she excelled in helping my sister out. Besides being incredibly friendly (which she was), it was apparent that she was extremely knowledgeable about the different brands and price points, and it was clear that she wasnt just trying to get away with selling whatever was the most expensive. She really listened to what my sister was looking for, and based on the questions the salesperson asked (do you prefer a more matte or shiny finish? Do you tend to tan much in the summer? How does that tend to change your complexion? Etc.) she made it evident that she would help us find whatever the best product was. Plus, she had some great tips for really finding the perfect color, and in testing out a few colors on my sisters skin, she really did find the perfect product for her. In comparison, at a lot of makeup stores Ive been to, Ive experienced sales people who insist they know the perfect color on the first try, even if that color just isnt quite right. To me, having to test out a few colors to really narrow down the best one isnt a sign of weakness, its a good thing, since everyones skin is unique. Overall, exceptional service. Thanks!

Although I like Ulta, I prefer online. Customer service sucks in store. The only time they ask if you need help is if youre near the brow bar. Other than that they dont truly care. They always stand around and dont ask for help and when you need to ask them for help its like your bothering them. I had an issue where I was asking about something and walked around for five minutes trying to find someone. When I finally found someone she was talking to another employee. Sephora is just sooo much better. I only go into this Ulta store because my local Sephora is too far away. If it wasnt though I would go there for everything. They have way more products and companies at Sephora. Plus I always leave there feeling good about myself and my purchase.

I have now been on hold for 3:00 minutes and counting to have a simple question answered. "Do they have the product I want in stock," I called first because I didnt want to waste a trip to the store. 5:00 minutes still on hold and waiting . . . the truth is I hate going into their store. Their customer service is horrible. they stand around talking and act like they are doing you a favor to point you in the direction of the product you are looking for. Unless you are there for a big ticket item or are all glammed out they dont pay a bit of attention to the customer. 7:00 minutes on hold and I am done. I will never ever ever ever patronize Ulta again. Im buring my Ulta rewards card right now.

After reading so many hostile reviews, I was reluctant to bring my business here. I came in and specifically asked to book an appointment with whatever stylist was the Picasso of highlights. I was taken to meet such Picasso, who has doing highlights at the time and that client raved about her. So I booked my appointment and have been going to this salon for over a year now, always leaving satisfied. I see Amanda, who is amazing to me and as far as the other employees, I have no one issues not everyone is friendly and I think most of the "one star reviewers" are just princesses. I would recommend this Ulta, especially the salon staff, over the Collegeville, PA location.

After nearly 9 minutes on hold, the clerk came back to my call and said, " Well, I just finished with someone else in the store, so I will go and find the product your asked about. Now what was that?" . I told her "Nevermind. You arent the only person in that store. Ill order from Amazon online and get better, quicker service ---and less expensive." So all the other comments are true --- terrible service, arrogant attitudes, not the best prices -the management needs to realize that they arent the only game in town!!!! I had to click one star to get this posted.

My second and last time shopping at ULTA. Go to SEPHORA instead, SEPHORAs customer service is AMAZING. ULTA is horrible with customers. The minute I got though the door I was rushed. They are over-employed yet they all stand there and talk amongst themselves instead of helping the customers. The cashiers are very rude and unprofessional. ULTAs coupons are a JOKE. They DONT stick to their return policy. Just do yourself a favor and shop at SEPHORA its so much better.

I am livid. I scheduled to have my hair and makeup done here for my wedding and they called 4 days ahead to tell me they messed up the scheduling and dont have a makeup person in when I requested, all the while telling me this as if I was supposed to fix it. They put me on hold for 10 minutes ultimately telling me there was nothing they could do. Now I cant find another appointment. Thanks for ruining my wedding. Ill never shop there again.

This stores Customer Service is awful. I called to see if a product was in stock before I drive 75 Miles to their store. The person answering the phone needs telephone skills and politeness training. I hung up after waiting more than 5 min for her to "check" if the product was in stock. I truly tried to be polite and pleasant since I was asking for a favor but ...
