Tim and his store (True Tension) are the best. Tim is totally customer service oriented. He is also just a great all-around person. He is nice, full of good advice and knowledge, and always friendly. Since he moved the store in October 2012, the store is much bigger and nicer. There is a great selection of racquets for many sports (tennis, paddle, racquetball, squash, even badminton sometimes) and clothing, shoes, and accessories. Dont see something you want? Ask Tim and hell order it for you. If it can be bought retail in the USA, he can get it. He will match the price of Tennis Warehouse and the other big-box online stores, and his service is a thousand per cent better. Finally--and this is the big reason to go--he is clearly the best stringer and racquet preparer around Fairfield County, Conn. His strong jobs are always top notch, consistent from one racquet to the next, and he will customize weight, grip, balance etc. If you love tennis, you will love True Tension.

Absolutely first rate. Tim will get you into the right racket and the right strings; and the stringing is of the highest quality. If you want your racket customized he does a superb job with that too. All for a very good price. I hadnt changed my equipment in a significant way for years, until I tried a new Babolat that Tim had customized to make it lighter in the head - and Im delighted with the new stick, it has been good for my game and my arm. This is a great store that provides a number of valuable dimensions and services that you just cant get by shopping on the internet.

Great prices, great selection, and the staff is super friendly, smart, and efficient! They string my racquets quickly and accurately. I tell all of my friends to go here. Tim always aims to please and is very knowledgeable, he convinced me to try a new string, but like most athletes, I was skeptical of change at first, but he was right! The MSV Focus hex has put extra pop and spin on my strokes. I am happy to see his business thriving this summer!

The selection of shoes and clothing is current and fabulous. The service cant be beat, the owner knows the different styles and needs of play and will give you the best recommendation for your game, he knows EVERYTHING tennis!

Our daughter plays competitive tennis and we are in frequently for restringing and occasionally for buying racquets. The guys are friendly, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. They patiently explain to dilettante parents why certain strings are better to avoid injury in a developing player. Even though we live in New Canaan, we make the trip to them.
