Ive been shooting here regularly (1-2 times per month) for years. And Im going to give you my honest take on this place, specifically the staff, as that seems to be the biggest gripe people have here. Lets start with the range itself: Awesome. Great ventilation, lighting, and room to work. The racks are a bit beat up, but thats mostly due to people who cant shoot to save their lives. Pricing? In my experience at other ranges, the pricing here for time is more than fair. The ranges that its higher than, its also a lot nicer than. I have no gripe with the fees here. And date night Fridays get you another shooter for free. Sweet. I dont buy ammo here regularly, but the few times I did, it didnt strike me as super overpriced. Higher than at a huge gun store? Yup. But its a range, and they dont stock 1,000s of cases of ammo. I did not at all feel like I was getting robbed. I paid a bit more because I forgot to grab mine, and that was fine. Lastly, the staff. Heres the thing, over the years Ive dealt with probably 3 or 4 different people behind the counter, and every single one of them has been nothing but super helpful and super friendly. Now, mind you...when I deal with them, I do it on the level of hey...its their place, and Im there as a customer. I dont try to come off as some kind of holier-than-thou gun toting bad ass. Have I seen some of them get snippy with other people at times? Yup. But in every single case, it was because the person was being more than a little bit of an arrogant "know it all" gun owner. If you walk in there with an attitude, you may get one back. Dont be a dick, and they wont treat you like one. End of story. Ive read the negative reviews with regards to the service here, and I can assure you just by reading how they were written, these people walked in with attitude. And if they never come back, Im okay with that as a customer. Carry on!

The owner, a scrawny bald dude, is a real prick. He talked to me like he had seen it all, done it all, and is better than the world. He has 0 personality and does NOT know how to treat a customer with respect. The ONLY reason why I went back after the 1st time is to use their range. The first time I went was to just check out their stock. I understand they are a small store but their stock for lack of a better word, sucks. They do, however, have a large selection of hot sauces. So if you are looking for a tactical way to grill your food this is your place. I still cannot get over how I was treated. I walked in and wasnt even greated. He just looked up from his computer, looked at my face and looked back down. I know I am coming off as snobby and stuck up, but trust me I am not like that at all. I am just shocked at how they treated a paying customer. I am going to take my business some place else because I am sure I will get treated better there even if I swear at the staff. In conclusion to my rant, I will never do business here again. Stock is not good and the owner is disrespectful. I hope somebody that knows how to run a business takes over.

I had the opportunity to go to Tactical Arms today to shoot which I found to be an overall positive experience. When I arrived, I was told that there would be a 45 minute wait, and unfortunately they do not take reservations (maybe for good reasons). However, after 10 minutes of looking around I was told that a lane had opened up and I quickly entered the range. The range was nice with lots of people around which made it more enjoyable. I shot for an hour and left with no problems. I would definitely go back as I found the environment to be hospitable and the range clean and nice. I wish that there pricing was a bit closer to their competitors as $29/hour is a bit steep compared to Hoffmans and Wolfs which are $25/hour. I know, its only $4 but with regular attendance it adds up. Also, I think they should have discount days as I would be highly inclined to go shooting on a Monday or Tuesday if it was $15/20 when I normally would not have gone at all. Overall I was impressed by this range and I will be going again. -Ben

Ive seen some negative reviews here. Not sure how its possible. Everyone must realize every one has bad experiences. Anytime I have a not so great experience I give someone a second try. I have been to Tactical a bunch of times to shoot, get gunsmith work done, purchase guns and took my Utah class there. ALL of the staff including John, the owner. (I hope I remembered his name correctly) they have all been great and very friendly. As far as the ammo being priced high? He charges the average going rate and has a rule you need to shoot his AR ammo because ass munches who dont know what they are shooting pierced their wall which I believe costs 50K a port to repair. The guy is there to make a living and Im sure with all the BS the State of CT puts a gun shop through, its not easy. Hell being a small business alone isnt easy. Tactical is one of the best places to go! I highly recommend this place to anyone.. Support this guy!!!!!

Its a shame that a local store owner would take advantage of the local towns people and anyone else that walks through the doors. I was a new customer looking for ammo and was sold a box for around $53 dollars or so and did not know better so I bought them, when I got home I checked around and man was I ripped off. I found the same ammo for at least &30 dollars cheaper. I hate to see anyone lose business and hope he sees this but do research first. The other people in the store are friendly and helpful that worker John is great and the young lady is also but the owner needs to learn how to be a person that at least makes believes hr cares about what he dose. In conclusion we can lose what we have in the blink of an eye so I would try to do everything in my power to keep what I have by being for the people and in turn the people will be there for you

Went to tactical arms for the first time looking for a new gun. Walked into the store and was the only one there, the guy at the counter didnt even greet me. He just sat there playing on his phone. After looking threw their terrible selection of guns and accessories I left and wasnt even asked if I needed help with finding anything. Place looks raggy and run down. I then called drop the hammer, a gun store in goshen. I took a trip over there and was treated like royalty! They have a beautiful Shop and a great selection of firearms... better priced too. Needless to say they got my business and I walked out with the gun I wanted that day. I will never go back to tactical arms again. DROP THE HAMMER will be my go to firearms store hands down.
