My mom was looking for a dress for a party that she is attending this Saturday. She wanted me to come along and help her look. I started pointing out dresses that I thought she might like. I noticed a sales representative looking at us and she started to walk over and she goes "this is an expensive rack" and I looked over and told her that "I know.. I have expensive taste" and I turned around a continued looking and she goes " the clearance rack is upstairs and its 55% off and I just ignored her. That comment was extremely out of line, I feel like I was disrespected. She only made that comment because of our skin color. She assumed because we were black that we couldnt afford what was on the rack. My mom ended spending $300 on a dress and I am making her take it back. I will not support a business that hires racist people. I was so disturb by the comment I went back the very next day to speak to a manager, I feel dissatisfied by how it was handled. They assured me that they would talk to her but how do I know that. I wouldnt want anyone to experience thats. I feel so uncomfortable going in there now and I will never step foot back in their store again.

Wish there was a "0" Star Rating. Ive always preferred Lord & Taylor over Macys until this happend... I go to the store to buy some basic Polo tees i needed, picked my size and was planning to walk around and see more of the store because of the nice renovation that they did. Then an employee, named Grace by the way, comes up to me running asking "Are you going to pay for that now or later?" In like a really weird tone of voice and i told her that i was going to keep on looking around but yes i will be paying for it later. As i was still walking she actually kept following me. She insisted on giving her back the tees and told me that i can look around if i gave her the items back. First time this has ever happend to me and ive been a L&T customer for a long time. After a few times she kept telling me the same thing over and over again until i was fed up. Gave her back the items and left. I was there for about 20 minutes. Never stepping in there again. Literally pissed me off

I went to this Lord and Taylor with my mom earlier today and had an awful experience with a sales associate and in particular their handbag selection. First of all, they shouldnt be so pushy. This particular woman followed me all around the store and was commenting on handbags saying that a "grandma" would wear it and so forth on other ones. Look lady, if you want to make a sale you shouldnt be pushing the customer away from the product. That is horrible customer service. Plus, she shouldnt care what I think because Im the one buying it not her. She should be fired. So if I like the product and want it, I will buy it no matter what other people think.

I had the worst experience today in this Lord and Taylor. I went to purchase a watch and Margaret A. in fine jewelry gave me the worst customer service ever. I already knew which watch I wanted and when I pointed it out she said " do you know the price of this watch? Its very expensive". Luckily I needed this watch and the other stores are sold out or else that watch would have been left right there. Then when I requested a fresh watch, not the one that everyone had been trying on, she looked at me like I was crazy. This lord and taylor has deplorable customer service and next time I will go the extra miles into the city. SHOPPERS BEWARE !

came to buy two suits during their menswear sale. the clerk checking us out incorrectly rung us out three times. 4th time was the charm. they keep blaming the new computer system... whether or not this is the case is irrelevant. weve spent more than 30 minutes trying to pay for these god forsaken suits. actually he just gave an additional $50 off for our troubles. still not happy i wasted so much time but the mens dept redeemed itself.

Havent been here in years! Literally 20 plus, easily! Last time, I felt almost intimidated; this time was a surprising pleasure! All department sales staff were very helpful; loved having an author greet us at the top of the 2nd fl. escalator and chatting about his book. If Lord and Taylor could tweak the set-up, lounge, rest areas a bit, I feel as though their inspired reputation could support people of all walks of life!

The employees are almost always nice and helpful but the store is always a messy disaster. Even though the place was re-done, it still seems to be a cluttered mess. Not simply mis-sorted and picked through clothes piles, but simply laid out in an unattractive manner. I am a see-grab-go shopper but this isnt the place to go if thats your style of shopping.

HORRIBLE! I walk into the store and am immediately harassed by hungry salesmen. I liked the renovation but in the past month the employees have gotten worse. Every ten seconds Im asked if I needed help. I like to shop alone. Then after a while I am continually bothered by the same employees who are obviously only concerned about their own sales.

Lord & Taylor has a most wonderful and helpful sales person in the ladies department on the second floor. Her name is Vera. She has help may wife find what she was looking on numerous occasions. Nor only is she helpful, but she knows her stuff and is friendly besides. We will use her often, when we shop at L&T.

Three levels of pure department store. The workers get commission, so mine followed me around. It was a little annoying, but I pretended I had a personal shopper. Theres a lot to see, and it looks like they are doing some renovations. Right now winter coats are dirt cheap, you can get up to 85% off.

Surely they are familiar with market research that indicates more $ is spent on apparel and accessories by women. Therefore they are more geared toward their female clientele. The mens department downstairs still has a good selection for the guys, suits, casual, jeans, they have you covered too.

Seems like their is always a sale here. Unfortunately they have been renovating and it has been taking up space. Hopefully it will be done soon as it is a very nice place to shop. Lots of selection and great prices.

I happened to stop by here on a night when they were having a big promotion. There was DJs and drinks and cigars and all sorts of give-aways. Not to mention 25% off coupons that came in really handy.
