Today, February 07, 2011 I decided to take a trip to Liberty Lagana Furniture in Meriden to shop for a bedroom set as I have seen ads for their store on Craigslist, it is somewhat close to my home and it seemed they had nice furniture at a reasonable price. Upon arriving at the store, I found that it was on a main road in Meriden with lack of store front parking, I then saw a sign that stated there was a parking lot in the rear of the store for Liberty Lagana customers, I proceeded to travel to the rear of the store to park my truck when I was approached by a older gentlemen who had introduced himself as the owner of the store, he had asked me if I could move my truck to another parking spot because it was in his way and he had ice/snow to clean up. I moved my truck out of his way and I was then approached by him again and I was very rudely told that the parking lot I was in was only for customers of the furniture store and that I should park on the street somewhere. I tried explaining to the man that I was a potential customer of the store and was shopping for a bedroom set and was planning on making a purchase, I even tried showing him that I had googled the address to his store on my phone and had the address to his store entered into my GPS. he continued to be very rude and told me that he did not think I had any intentions of shopping at his store, he did not want me as a customer and that the store was closed on Mondays anyway, and I was just using his parking lot because i had to go to the Meriden Court which is right across the street, I was then told that if I did not leave the property immediately, he would call the cops. I have never been to the Meriden Court in my life and certainly did not have intentions or reason to go there today! Upon further research, I found that the store is indeed open on Mondays. This morning, I went out of my way to withdraw cash out of my checking account and take a truck I wouldnt normally drive to travel to this store and purchase a bedroom set, and instead I did nothing but waste my own time and money as well as receive the worst treatment I have EVER in my life experienced as a customer. I have never formed a complaint with the BBB or any other consumer complain bureau before even though I have dealt with some less then perfect business experiences however I felt the treatment I received from the owner of Liberty Lagana was so horrid and unprofessional, that people should be made aware and some kind of action should be taken.

BUYER BEWARE These owners are down right rude and unprofessional. They have no idea what it means to provide customer service or show gratitude to continuing customers who have spent a lot of money in their store. The first Item I bought from them was a sectional and dining room table priced at about over 4,000 together which they delivered to Wallingford. Then I purchased an Entertainment center and they delivered it to my new home in Farmington. I went back and purchased another dining room set, end tables, bedroom set, mattress and coffee table. Needless to say I have spent over 10,000 in their store and they REFUSED to deliver to my home in Farmington and said they dont travel that far and never have. I reminded them that they have delivered to this home before and the owner said "absolutely not." So you mean to tell me that after all the money I have spent in your store you can not make a simple delivery? Mind you these were not light items they were EXTREMELY heavy and actually hurt myself trying to bring it into my home with 3 other people. On top of that the dresser I purchased is cheap and flimsy priced at 1,000 and the boards lining the bottom are coming off ( I take very good care of my furniture) The drawers on the entertainment center are not aligned properly this must be a manufacture defect when I addressed the issue they refused to do anything. The chairs that go with the dining room table wobble. I called them and they said all they could do was send me new hardware which didnt work and they didnt care. In addition to these issues after all the money I have spent I had about a 300.00 balance with them which mind you is minimal to the thousands of dollars I have spent. I lost my job and missed ONE payment and I received documentation in the mail stating they were taking me to small claims court. STAY AWAY

The OWNER to this place is so unprofessional and classless . So I tried to give him my card number so he can stop taking money out of my mothers account and I told him to charge my card Monday to wait for my check to clear. He said no because I never keep my word. I have called and text so many times before that I wanted payments taken out the last Thursday of the month not the 15th because I know the money wont be there. Even after I said this they still take it out the 15th. Maybe if they actually listen we wouldnt be having a problem. He literally hangs up in my face twice. And because of these past issues it has been reported on my credit that my bill that is currently being paid for but thats not what it reflects on my credit report . It shows up as unpaid in collections. So I did let them know that they needed to change this. He refused to do anything. How can I pay for something that you have marked on my report that is current. He seems to do things to get under your skin. I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. I FOUND BETTER PLACES WITH BETTER PRICING FOR THE SAME IF NOT BETTER QUALITY. I ONLY PUT 1 STAR BECAUSE IT WONT LET ME POST ANYTHING IF I DONT IF NOT IT WOULDNT HAVE ANY.

My husband and I have purchased several pieces of furniture from Liberty Lagana including a bedroom set, mattress, sectional and a table with benches. All of the products we have purchased were of excellent quality and our overall shopping experience was nothing but positive. The staff was also very knowledgeable about the products they sell and they also offered honest feedback and helpful suggestions throughout the entire process which really made the overall experience stress free and easy. Liberty Lagana offers quality products at incredible prices that you won’t find elsewhere. They really offer the best value for excellent quality furniture. We are so happy with our purchases and our overall shopping experience that we would definitely recommend Liberty Lagana to friends and family. So far it has been nothing but a pleasure working with the Lagana family when purchasing our furniture from them. They are very accommodating when regarding ordering, delivery, and payments. Their layaway was an easy option for us while saving to buy our sectional from them, and when we finally paid it off they were prompt to schedule delivery. I was able to consistently communicate with them via email and phone, as well as meeting the staff in person when we initially visited the store. I will definitely buy more furniture from them in the future, they had great deals and absolutely awesome customer service. Overall a much more pleasing and personal experience versus the actual Ashley Furniture home store/ any other large furniture depot.
