Im rarely in town, so when I do come through, I will sometimes stop by the Krispy Kreme location in Thorton, CO. It is usually not that great of an experience. My most recent visit happened to be Eclipse Day (Aug. 21), which was a mistake. They decided to only sell (nasty tasting) Eclipse Doughnuts rather than the regular glazed ones that I had a taste for. The corporate website didnt broadcast this as being the arrangement, but it may have been a corporate decision, so Ill give them a pass on that. This being said, in addition to the stupidity of NOT getting the doughnut I wanted (thankfully, I only risked getting one of the nasty Eclipse Doughnuts), I saw that the normal problem of not having items theyve got promotional posters for all over the place. This is pretty much the issue every time Ive come through, so if it is advertised on the website (like the OREO® Cookies and KREME or the REESE’S® Peanut Butter Doughnut). And despite the fact that they make bloody doughnuts at this location, they are often out of other doughnuts as well. So as in the case of my last visit, if they run out of Cinnamon Twists, they just put a tray of something else in the display slot to make it LOOK like they arent out of product. That pisses me off as well. If you go to the corporate website, youll see lots of doughnut varieties. However, this Krispy Kreme location is only going to sell maybe half (or a little over half) of whats on the website, assuming they arent "sold out" (which is so frequently the case). Would it hurt them to sell the Double Chocolate Eclair, for example? Finally, I mentioned that I thought the Eclipse Doughnuts were nasty. I picked up a Chocolate Iced Custard Filled and that didnt taste very good either. Usually Ill get several and they arent bad. Glad I didnt do that this time. I also picked up one Chocolate Iced with KREME Filling and it was just OK. The sad part about it was that a few weeks earlier at a grocery store in another state, I bought a box of these off the shelf and those tasted better than these supposed "made today" ones in the store. Im trying to be fair with my review as I have been here before and it hasnt been too bad, other than being sold out of stuff. My most recent trip did irritate me enough to write a review. Hopefully, the place will make some improvements, but somehow I dont think they will.

The best thing about this Krispy Kreme location is that they have giant open display windows so you can see the process of how they make their glazed donuts. Its like going on a donut factory tour every time you go. I recommend everyone go here at least once. Unfortunately, my last experience (aside from the fun of watching some of the donuts being made) wasnt a great experience. We went and the older woman who was putting together orders for customers was relatively rude and impatient with all of the customer. (Though I understand that everyone has a bad day and therefore doesnt deserve a scathing review.) But, when we went to order our donuts, a LOT of trays were empty. When we asked if there were any being made, "No." was the only answer we got. So we asked when there would be more. "I dont know. They didnt make them. You can try tomorrow." Well, needless to say we didnt try the next day. We simply went somewhere else. We will be returning as this isnt a common place situation, especially at this location. But it was enough to make us a little reluctant to going there for a little bit.

On August 21 (Eclipse Day), I went to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for the very first time. I went to go buy a coffee and the Eclipse doughnut. After waiting for twenty minutes in the drive thru line, I was the next car to pull up to the window but then a car randomly got in front of me. The person inside that car returned two iced coffees to the employee and left. Finally, it was my turn. When I received my order, the coffee was not the Hazelnut coffee that I ordered. They gave me the caramel coffee that the car in front of me had returned. It was disgusting. I told the lady that I ordered a Hazelnut coffee and she was quite rude and said "We dont have that here." When it was clearly in their menu. The most nasty part was that they gave me a returned coffee that was already 1/4 down and the lid was already used from where the people had put the straw in. That was my first and last time going to a Krispy Kreme Doughnut place.

Desperately been trying to find a time to show my girlfriend the hot donuts since we work a lot and shed never been (I had been a fan since childhood) and we got there at 9:08, with seeming ample time to get hot donuts... hot light was off and the staff was extremely rude about it. One staff member was singing vulgarities at us as we tried to order and my girlfriend ended up with the wrong donut altogether. Needless to say, making hot donuts at home is a lot more satisfying/less brutal than driving out 40 minutes after a long day at work, especially when you can guarantee hot donuts (and dont have to deal with snippy attitude.) If youre not going to keep the hot light on for the entirety of time at which your website says its going to be on, then change the times on your website, its that simple. This is a stupid way to lose lifetime/generations of customers.

We were craving Krispy Kreme all week. My fiancee found a great coupon online for April 11-17. We get there and ask the manager "Edgar" if they take the coupon and he says no they arent taking those coupons and its probably for another state. So, disappointed that they dont have my favorite raspberry filled donuts and that they arent honoring the coupon, we only get 2 dozen glazed donuts instead of the usual 6 dozen glazed and assorted that we get. We go to pay and the lady cashing us out says its usually $17 and some cent but since they have a promotion, itll be cheaper. I give her some cash and she comes back with the chance and the receipt. She gave us the price of the coupon that Edgar said they didnt honor... They need a new manager.

There was only one employee running the register and she was also running the drivethru there was a huge line at both and she was running frantically back and forth filling boxes and taking money. There were probably 8 employees working. Why couldnt one of them step up. We waited 12 minutes. That is ridiculous. Maybe instead of giving out samples you should have him run the register so theres not a huge line when there doesnt need to be. Also the cashier took my cash with gloves on and then went and placed the drive thru order and never changed her gloves. So that car got some gross doughnuts. Ill think twice befor going through the drive thru.

i dont know what people are complaining about. Krispy Kreme is old school, warm and delicious. I always love their classic glazed donuts and could never get sick of them. Always soft even after 2 days sitting on my counter. Their other varieties are good but im not a fan of overly decorated or filled donuts. Staff is friendly, hardly any lines and affordable. Lamars is my 2nd favourite. i dont know why people like Voodoo donuts, they are overly sweet and look like my 4 year old just slab colorful things on it.
