Been to this store four times and each time I encounter the same frigid woman and aloof middle-aged man who apparently own this store. My most recent visit has made me decide to take my money elsewhere. I returned a North Face jacket that was a gift and ended up being too big. Upon walking into the store, I was greeted by a grimace. The woman basically freaked out that I didnt have the price tag attached to the jacket (hello, it was a gift....) and asked me in an accusatory way if the jacket was used. After explaining that it was a gift and seeing the item on the receipt, she reluctantly gave me a refund. At least I hope she did...she just handed me the receipt back without a word.....the store has good prices on gear, but I guess Id rather give my money to someone who appreciates it.

I purchased a pair of Oakleys for my wife for Christmas (08) and was told that I could return them within 30 days for a refund, if they dont fit or whatever. Well, my wife is pregnant and the sunglasses did not fit correctly. I tried to return them 2 days after Christmas and was told that there is a "No return policy" on sunglasses. After arguing with guy at the counter, he finally returned them and never said "thank you" or anything. I wasnt trying to be a pain. I mean, I work in Golden and was excited about this store opening, but now I will have to take my business elsewhere. This is a down-home, local place with a big-city rude attitude.

My go to clothing/boot store as a goldenite. There is usually always a sale or some sort of discounted item you probably want. Clothing , footwear, hats, and everything outdoor related. Wish they had some fishing gear but I can see why they dont . If youre in town, def stop in for that impulsive raincoat purchase when the Golden skies turn grey. Staff is always superbly helpful and friendly.

Went in looking for some hiking boots after being totally ignored at REI. The sales associate Brandon was extremely helpful with finding me the right pair of boots. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I ended up buying the boots, a new backpack and some Nalgene bottles. Great local store, Ill be back.

My daughter was in the market for some hiking boots. Brandon was super knowledgeable about the many brands as well as about the fit. The added bonus was they were having a 20 percent off sale for Memorial Day. Yay, all the way around. Will definitely shop here again.

Love this store because they feature clothes that are both sporty and fashionable. Super nice staff and they have a lot of great sales. I bought a pair of Born boots here and they had the best price around -- I compared with several of the national retailers too.
