When I was told about Bonnie Brae Ice Cream, I was continually told it was the best ice cream I could imagine. The line out the door at 9:30 on a Sunday night proved that. Literally, the line was down the street, so we decided to come back the next morning. The ice cream is FANTASTIC, as well as the customer service. Special shout out to Chris who was so very helpful. I had a double dip, and it was wonderful. But I noticed something about my ice cream that suprised me. The ice cream was great, but the cone was the best part. Since they make them fresh in house, it was awesome. Most places have great ice cream, but the waffle cones are usually a couple of days old and quite stale. Not here. The cone was amazing, and it made the experience all that much better. Highly recommended, but you will know that as soon as you see the place. The last thing this place needs is more fans. :)

Contrary to r.r.hs cryptic statement below that the ice cream is somehow not homemade, I am here to shed light on the fact that our ice cream is without a doubt made in house with premium ingredients. For the past 23 years we have always made our ice cream in small batches, the old fashioned way. Our milk and cream is all fresh from the dairy and mixed according to our specifications. Also, if youd like to see our lists of ingredients, we will be happy to provide you with it. If youre interested in our ice cream making process, feel free to stop by and ask for a tour. Wed love to show you! -The owners (Bob, Ken, Cindy, and Judy)

This place was so packed on a summer night! I loved how folks come from all over to check this local and classic ice cream shop. It’s very nostalgic and the service is not only friendly, but speedy. We got a couple of scoops and some classic flavors and were immediately seated outside at a table. There was a man with a guitar playing as well which was a nice touch. It’s a super popular spot with lots of kids and adults, so if you don’t like summer crowds, then this isn’t for you. The ice cream itself wasn’t out of this world delicious, but the smell of fresh waffle cones will have you thinking dessert heaven!

Some of the best ice cream Ive had in a very long time!! The staff was very friendly and allowed me to taste a few flavors before I chose the one I wanted. You can tell everything is homemade. I had the banana cream pie in a chocolate covered waffle and it was DELICIOUS!!! I live up in Broomfield and dont get to downtown Denver a lot...wish they had a location up here! I highly suggest this ice cream parlor. :)

Super gimmicky, ice creams mediocre, and when I asked for a chocolate coke, none of the employees knew what a chocolate coke. I understand that bonnie Brae has been around forever and that its kind of a staple of the area but realistically Denver has at least 20 other ice cream parlors with higher quality ice cream. And when there are so many better options why wait upwards of 30 mins?

I think this is the best ice cream shop in Denver. Much better than that nasty milk can one that I wont name directly. The lines tend to get long in the summer but thats to be expected and they move quickly. The staff is pretty on-the-ball as well, especially considering theyre all kids. They move quickly but never rush you. Prices are a little higher than the norm but its worth it.

Simply the best ice cream in Denver. The flavors are always changing, since they make fresh batches daily, right there. Mexican Chocolate is one of my favorites. Cappuccino Crunch runs a close second. On a warm summers night, there will always be a line out the door - for a good reason - its worth the wait. The shop is small, so you may have to take a stroll with your waffle cone.

I do not call that "homemade ice cream." Go ahead and ask for a list in ingredients. (In the state of Colorado any place that serves food is required to give you a list of ingredients if you ask for it.) It seems to me that the advertising slogan "We make it here!" that they have displayed on their awnings, while it may be true, it is also deceiving.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Bonnie Brae Ice Cream for being so awesome! I noticed today that my purchase a week ago was double what it was supposed to be. I called them up; The girl who answered was extremely polite and professional. She was able to quickly reverse the charge. I was very pleased and most definitely will be coming back!

I have been going to Bonnie brae ice cream since 1988. I am so disappointed that you changed your peppermint ice cream recipe. I drove from Phoenix yesterday and it was a must to go to your ice cream store last night. The new recipe uses candy thatll cant be eaten unless you want to break your teeth. Please go back to the original recipe!!

Went looking for homemade ice cream and saw this llave and the looong line, which made me think it had to be good. It was super good. Had the chocolate which is dark and bitter and my husband had the triple death chocolate.. to die for. Liked the fact that they had many cone sizes.. even a itsy bity size.

Corner ice cream shoppe with a nostalgic feel. They make their own ice cream with tons of rotating delicious flavors. Cups, cones, and even ice cream cakes and quarts in the freezer for to-go purchase. Friendly staff, lots of outdoor seating. Limited indoor seating and parking. A Denver staple for sure.

Small, locally-owned shop with extremely delicious ice cream. When we lived relatively close we would often stop by, and now that we dont, we still head over now and then because its amazing. Theres often a line, but they manage to get everyone through the door quickly, and theyre always very friendly.

Cute ambiance, everything you have ever wanted from an ice cream shop! The staff were so polite and fun, and gave good suggestions. Plenty of choices, we tried 5 flavors and they were delicious. All the cone selections were a nice addition. The perfect way to end a summer date night!

The ice cream is good, no doubt, but not worth the crazy long line {out the door and down the block at 930 on a Sunday night?). The flavors in concept were great, and why we decided to go, but neither of us found the actual taste outstanding, or worth a 40 minute wait.

This neighborhood shop makes their ice cream in house daily! Their products are all Kosher and organic. The line during the summer is usually out the door but the authentic charm of the shop and the quality is well worth it! The Butterscotch Chocolate is off the hook!

This is one of the best ice cream spots in Denver. They have some great flavors and the line will run down the block on nice summer evenings. The staff is all young kids which always makes it fun for a place like this. There are a few tables outside which is nice too.
