For a piercing: I went here a nose piercing and would highly recommend it. This post was a 5-star before, but its 2 now because of the tattoo experience. [IF YOURE GETTING A TATTOO READ MY UPDATE BELOW.] I did call after they opened because based on references and reviews I knew I wanted Michael (Mike) as a piercer. They said to just come in. I did about 20 minutes later and was asked to come back after 5 p.m. -- which, for something I knew would be good quality, I didnt have a problem doing. Pricing was very reasonable. It was only $10 (and I left a $15 tip since for me its important and I was expecting to pay more anyways). There was a wait, but they had a lot of chairs so it was fine. The girl at the counter was really nice. When it was my turn, Mike was great. He explained everything to me. Everything was clean. He took out new products in front of me. I was a little nervous, but he was really funny and cracked some jokes. He was really tired from a busy day, but still treated me like an individual. And best of all -- it was relatively pain-free. It pinched, but it wasnt even as bad as I thought itd be. Would totally go back to get anything else done here. Update (8/21/2013) The only reason this is 2 stars is because of the piercing I got here. Dont waste your time. I didnt. Ive had a few tattoos before and a friend got me a Groupon to this place to check them out. I went in on a Friday to check out their artwork and see if I actually wanted to use my Groupon (because Id rather waste one than let someone put something permanently bad on me). The front desk was nice. They had me talk to Josh, and I explained that I wanted to use the Groupon to see how I liked them, and if I liked it then maybe we could work into doing us something larger (as I really want to do a back piece). Or even use the Groupon to start something, and I could either pay full-price for the rest of the time itd take to finish or come back and have him finish it later. He was really nice and told me to bring back some specific samples of what I was thinking Id like. So, I came back the next day with my little sister to drop off some ideas. Thats when things got ugly. I get that people have bad days, but he completely reamed me about the Groupon. It seemed like he completely forgot about our conversation the day before and thought I was talking about using two Groupons on the same thing or something. He told me all about how they dont make money off it at all -- which you shouldnt be telling a customer anyways. He got upset because the picture I brought in wasnt large enough -- he was trying to photo copy it so he could trace it. Like I want someone elses tattoo on me? So, he asked me "Where did you get this from" and sat down at the computer to try to find it so he could print it. He didnt even talk to me long enough to realize that I would NEVER walk into a place on a Saturday afternoon expecting to get a tattoo right then. He just assumed Id walked in and wanted it then. He gave me his email to send him the picture to and then walked outside, leaving me inside totally confused. I walked outside and told him Id email him and that I couldnt do it that afternoon. I totally get how Groupons work and that theyre a deal for a reason. I know everyone has a life to fund. But the entire experience was totally unprofessional. Wasted opportunity. I came home, called Groupon and got a refund. NO way would I let someone tattoo me after they just lit into me like that and tried to photocopy a picture to slap onto my body. Im sorry if something happened that day to this guy, but Ive been in customer service for years. Never let em see you sweat. And sure has hell dont talk to them like you just scraped them off the sole of your shoe.

I had visited this location yesterday because I wanted a nose piercing. I went in and did the paperwork and everything and got it pierced. I thought it was all done and good. Later that night I was confused about the care and decided to call and ask Sara, the woman who did the piercing, and ask a couple questions. As soon as the piercing was done she told me to call her for anything. I did call and they said she was gone. It was late so I decided to wait for the morning. Today I remembered that my doctor for my oral surgery that was coming up in a couple of days made a note of not wearing any jewelry. I had totally forgot and was worried about taking the piercing out. I called the store again and asked for Sara once more. They told me "she dont work here no more." Exact words. So I decided to just ask for a person that does piercings. I spoke to someone and she seemed very annoyed and displeased to be speaking to me. I asked her if there was anything I could do and she said I could get it replaced with plastic and then get it replaced again after the surgery was done. After recieveing that information I decided to get a second opinion. I called Pens and Needles and this man who actually sounded informed gave me totally different information. He told me that a piercing should not be changed so frequently right after its pierced and that plastic is the worst material to put in a puncture wound. He said he would replace it with a glass retainer and get me taken care of. Of course I chose that. When I got there he informed me that the piercing job that was done was pretty bad. The angle of the piercing was down and that means it would take long to heal, changing jewelry would be difficult, and that I would only be limited to studs for hoops would not fit. I was extremely disappointed to hear this because the rings that I was most excited to wear were hoops. I ended up taking the piercing out not even 24 hrs later. I DO NOT recommend this place. They failed to their jobs and are very sketchy for having the person that did my piercing to just miraculously not work there anymore after telling me 10 times to call with any questions. I dont trust this place. Save your money.

I just want to warn people about this place. This place looks good, but this place SUCKS! I went in with my girlfriend because she wanted her tongue pierced. The Piercer named "Bull" was helpful and kind until he got us in the room. My friend, who I will not name cause she asked me not to name her, had a short tongue. He said he couldnt pierce her tongue and said that since she paid, she can have another piercing. She really wanted to get her tongue pierced. She got a little upset, then "Bull" started to explain that he is an avid piercer and has been doing this since she was like 8 years old. He said she could get any piercing she wanted. She said ok, and said she wanted her eyebrow and nose. "Bull" said ok, then this is where it got bad. I, just jokingly, told my friend she should get her nipples pierced. "Bull" lit up like a kid at Christmas. He then told her yes, she should. My friend was kinda shy about it and told him no. He kept pushing the issue and kept telling her that he has done many nipple piercings and could promise it wouldnt hurt. She was still telling him no. He still kept pushing the issue. After a few moments, he said ok to the other piercings she wanted and then he stated he would pierce her nipples for free just so he could see her breasts. She said no again. After she got her nose pierced and her eyebrow, we left. My friend busted out crying and said she felt so disgusting and gross because he kept on with the nipple piercings after she said no. I want everyone to know that the Piercer there named "Bull" should be fired. He is GROSS and PERVERTED. Ladies I would strongly urge you "NOT" to go to Living Art Tattoo to get pierced unless you want to fell like you were just raped when you leave. "Bull" Is the one with the long "RED" beard. He just looks scary too.
