While I cant say I am a faithful shopper of this store, the few times I have been in, I could always find some really good deals. Not today! The items I tried on were really over priced! On top of that, I have never had trouble selling items to the store but this weekend I had my first rejection in that they refused the entire bag that consisted of the following: * A brand new pair of wedge heals that granted, were from Payless but come one, I have seen shoes in that store that come from Wal-Mart! * A nice pair of brown suede heals by Jessica Simpson that were purchased at Nordstroms a few years back, a nice pair, only worn a couple of times. * A pair of Linen slacks from Banana Republic??? * About four purses, one being a Fossil that I find really hard to believe they couldnt "sell" those. The purse collection there is a bit of a joke. I saw two Coaches and a Fossil while the rest of the bags were no names or well used and kinda trashy. I did sign the waiver that they could donate and I even said they could if they didnt want the items because I didnt want them back, but I wasnt expecting the whole bag to be rejected. At most, a purse or a pair of shoes - the wedges to be exact. When they called me to tell me they were refusing the entire bag, they did offer my things back and even recommended taking the items down to another consignment store. Seems silly to go to another one when I brought the items to the place I have always sold to, eh? I think the store has just turned into another Platos closet that is geared towards teenagers and name brands only. Sadly, the amount of money they are asking for some items, you would be much wiser to simple go a buy it new. Cant say I will be returning.

Every time I have tried to donate or sell clothes here there is always some sort of issue or restriction. They either cant take the clothes I brought because they have too many of the item Im trying to donate , what Im brining isnt considered to be "in season" (which by the way, I think everyone has their own opinion on whats in season) or they cant buy anything because I didnt bring it within their designated "buying hours." I had brand new items, including designer jeans I have never worn because they are too big and they said they couldnt take them because they werent in "gently used condition." If youre going to be thrifty and dont want to pay full price for clothes, save yourself more money and just shop at Arc or Goodwill across the street. Their clothes are way over priced for the condition they are in and Arc has the same shirts for much less. The customer service at this store is also very unprofessional. Nobody aknowledges you when you walk in the door and its as if they igonore you because they dont want to be bothered with your questions. I will never come back here again.

The people who work there are really rude and they clothing is extremely OVERPRICED. I went there to sell some high quality designer clothes, they purchased some and turned away others which is expected with consignment stores. The also give considerably more money if you use it as a store credit instead of getting cash. First they told me a pair of original designer jeans were replicas (they were real) and were only going to give me a couple of dollars. (I went to another consignment place right after and they bought the jeans for more than 5 TIMES as much cash then uptown offered me) I figured I would use the store credit because it was more and bought a pair of designer jeans, and its my fault I didnt look at them more closely in the store but they are FAKE I feel completely ripped off for the price that they were charging. I can easily go to other retail stores and buy REAL designer jeans on sale that are NEW for cheaper then uptown charges for USED jeans. I will not be returning to buy or sell the experience was horrible.

ive had a mostly plesent experience with uptown cheapskate. the style they take in has a little bit of an older market, i would say 18-late 20s. you will find a lot of anthropologie, free people, and miscellenious brands there. the style is very old, they say 1-2 years but i would say its more around 4 or more years old. the prices are a little bit high for a second hand store, but they do cater to an older market so there is a reason for that. the payout from selling clothes is good! i find they usually take everything at a reasonable price. i dont like how they never explain to you what they took and why because it always leaves me with a lot of questions..., another downfall is that they do not backstock so their buying descisions are heavily based on what they have in the store at the moment and the season. other than that, great experience everytime.

The staff is wonderful! Kim was a fabulous owner! I shopped her and sold here ALL the time! It WAS my favorite second hand store!! However, BUYER AND SELLER BEWARE!!! WARNING!! New policy states that once you drop off you items to sell, you can NOT refuse their offer. EXCUSE ME? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The policy has changed with the new owner and once you sign their waiver, which was NOT explained to me at all, you no longer have control of your items. BAD ETHICS! BAD NEW OWNER!! I will NEVER return to this location and will let EVERYONE I know how terrible this policy is! To the wonderful staff…I suggest you get out of such a horrendous location and go work for a company which has values and morals.

Love love love this store. Went in about a month ago to find an interview outfit, and found THE BEST suit ever! Banana Republic, taupe, and even found a power blouse in red and some matching shoes. All for under $60. I havent shopped for clothes in years, but lost a ton of weight, and the two ladies working that evening helped me so incredibly much, and were super patient with me asking how different items looked. Couldnt have done it without them. I found my new favorite store (bye bye, ross!), and plan on going back today. I got the job I interviewed for, and the confidence I had in my sharp outfit can definitely be counted as a factor. Thanks, ladies for all your help!

I dont think I will go back to store again! I was looking for a pair of shoes and this young girl was there to sell her clothes. They offered her so little for her stuff that she refused all their offers. They wanted to give her $14 for 3 bags of clothes mean while they turn around and sell it for way more than they bought it. Such crooks. The famale owner is so rude and just looks angry. DONT SELL ANYTHING HERE!

I have attempted to sell to this store multiple times and they rarely buy even though the items meet or exceed their qualifications. When they do buy they grossly underpay for things. Going in there as many times as I did was a waste of time. You would make more money selling your items at a garage sale!!
