To whom it may concern, I would like to explain how my first experience of a delivery from American Furniture Warehouse. My husband and I purchased over $3,000.00 dollars worth of furniture for our home on 04/07/12. We had the furniture delivered on 04/12/12 by whom we were told was a trainer, named Jeremy and two new employees, named Van and Justin. I became worried as Van and Justin were bringing in the love seat through the front door without any regard to the outer glass door they hit over and over. Then they brought in the large reclining sofa in such a rush and no regard to my home they hit the corner of my wall and took off the paint and sheet rock. I became instantly angry and told them to slow down. There was no apology or any mention of the damage they did. They went out to the truck and I followed them as I stood there listening as they were complaining to Jeremy that I was upset and wouldnt settle down after they asked me to. As I stood behind them to watch them with the remaining furniture one of the new employees was getting 2 of the dinning room chairs off the truck on his own and nicking the metal over and over against the truck. I asked if I could grab one as I said he was damaging the chairs. The trainer, Jeremy was angry and shouted, No, you will not help, go inside so they can do their job. I said they are damaging the furniture ! He didnt respond to me. The employee kept banging the chairs on the truck. I went indoors and inspected the coffee table, and 2 end tables they brought in. There were many nicks in the coffee table and looked as if the piece was used. I told the driver I would not accept the coffee table nor the 2 end tables as there were nicks and scratches on all of them. One area had a scratch that a black marker to cover it up. The driver took photos of the damage of the furniture and the wall and had the employees take them out to the truck. After I inspected the sofa I saw a tear in the left bottom corner and said I would not accept it as the driver plugged in the power for the sofa recliners and tried them out. The recliner on the right was would not raise smoothly and looked like the frame was bent. A loud crack was made as he was raising it and he said the mounting on the motor had just cracked. I had picked up a screw in front of the left side of the recliner and gave it to the driver from the motor mounting. The trainer did not over look any thing nor advised them how to carry the furniture correctly, which is his job, right? He stayed in the back of the truck the entire time until he needed my signature. This was the worst experience of a delivery that I have ever encountered. I believe these employees should be reprimanded for their lack of professionalism and customer service. I would terminate any employee who thinks damaging someones home wasnt a big deal. These employees need to find another career that they take pride in as there was no pride in what they were doing. On a better note, I had the replacement furniture delivered on 04/15/12 by Mario A. and Kai K. They were very professional and friendly. I watched them carry in the new pieces slowly and carefully as to not damage my home or the new furniture. I noticed they worked together not against one another. They took off the backs of the recliners on the sofa, which the other guys didnt do. I mentioned this and they both said really, as they have to be taken off to be carried properly and not to cause damage. There was no damage to my home nor the furniture. Thanks Mario and Kai. Keep up the great work your doing and dont loose the pride you hold in your job! American Furniture Warehouse Customer, S

Im used to the bigger "wearhouse" stores, so I was a bit weary coming to this location. Its not run down per se, but from the outside, it doesnt look as appealing as some of the bigger stores. We just moved to the area from the mountains, so we needed some living and bedroom furniture. We had already been to ikea and had a bad taste in our mouths. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by several associates, but didnt feel pressured for anything. We walked around the couch section, and Laurel greeted us. She asked if we needed assistance, and we told her we were looking for a sectional. She showed us all they had avaliable, and left us to look at the merchandise. Immediately, we decided on the first sectional she suggested. All the staff is no pressure, which I love. Laurel gave us our space but was close by for any questions we had. We also asked about a bed frame, described what we were looking for, Laurel directed us to exactly what we wanted, made us feel like total VIPS in the process. When we went to complete the transaction, Laurel made it effortless and wasnt pushy with financing or anything like that, she read us well and could tell we would just pay up front. Laurel was very thorough explaining the delivery process, and just like that, we were set up for delivery. Wouldnt you know it, the delivery went just as she described! The driver called while they were en route, and they set up the furniture to my specifications. They were in and out of my home in less than 15 minutes!! We are so happy with the honesty and service we received from Laurel and this AFW location, they now have a lifetime customer!

Unfortunately we did not get to experience the best customer service or care. First we were discharged for our merchandise . Then after getting our furniture it did not correctly as the Sales Person had provided us with the incorrect dimensions of the furniture. It took speaking to 3 different customer service individuals until they finally agreed to pick up the furniture and deliver the replacement furniture without charge. When the delivery gentlemen came to pick up the furniture, they then damaged it while removing it from the house (No damages were reported when the furniture was inspected in the home, but reported after they had removed it and set it outside). Long story short, after much discussion with the manager (who even admitted that it is the delivers responsibility to inspect the furniture before removing it) they agreed to take it back and deliver our furniture, but we had to wait another 3 days and were not allowed to suggest a time frame. We were also charged an extra $60 for "re-delivery" even after they had admitted that it was their own fault. Unfortunately I dont think they will be having our business again. The quality of the furniture itself is great, but it has not been worth the several days of arguing and having an unfurnished home.

Ive been a loyal AFW customer for 9 years since moving to Colorado as they have decent furniture at reasonable prices. For the most part their furniture is typically well made for the price-point that youre buying. Unfortunately that wasnt the case with a bench that I purchased there two years ago. Because of where it was placed in the house it was rarely used and recently I went to sit on it in the middle and it literally snapped in half plunging me to the floor. Im 165 pounds so not a heavy person. I went to the AFW store to ask for a refund or store credit recognizing that obviously it was beyond the warranty period. Well, the reception that I got was cold and uninterested and the most alarming aspect of their reaction is they werent the slightest bit concerned that a piece of their furniture could even break in half and the potential injury liability they might have. I will certainly be reconsidering where I do my furniture buying in the future!
