We went in to get some fish for our new 37 gallon tank. I have had many tanks in the past and know how to they work. The lady who was there to help started lecturing me about how many fish I could have and when. Then she went on to tell me that I could NOT get some of the fish I wanted and that I could only have 6 fish for my tank. Our tank is 37 gallons and has plenty of room for more then 6 fish! When I said that I wanted 8 she was irritated and told me that 8 was pushing it for a tank my size. What?! I wasnt even asking for big fish, just little community fish that like being in schools! On top of that she made us go through and pick out all different fish from what we were wanting. Now I know that some fish just do not go together but I have also had plenty of experience with tanks and I know the ones that do just fine together. She would not let us buy them. I couldnt believe it. She also said that I had to bring water in so that she could put us on a cleaning regiment before I could buy anymore fish. I just wanted to go in there and get the fish we wanted for our tank. I did not want to be bossed around and told that everything I wanted was wrong and that I had to chose differently. I will not be going back there for anymore fish. So rude.

Purchased my first elephant ear betta here last night, wasnt expecting much because its a big box store, and aquatics always suffer in the big boxes, but despite me coming in at half an hour to close, the woman working the aquatics area happily bagged my betta (a request Ive seen lots of petco employees scoff at) and I was impressed to hear her ask (almost nervously) how big the tank he was going into was. She was ready to talk me up from from a bowl if I was going to put him in one, I could tell! I always love a petstore employee who cares about where the animal they sell goes. Havent had an unfriendly experience here yet; the only animal we dont buy for here is the snake because they so rarely have feeder rats in her size and when they do theyre terribly expensive. Edit: Forgot to mention the fishs health! So far these are some of the healthiest in-cup bettas Ive seen, very small (juvenile or small stock Im not sure) but not terribly underfed and so far he looks beautifully healthy. No lethargy or fin rot. Hes much happier in a 30 gallon all to himself, but little Oscar Wilde definitely came at least visibly healthy! One slightly torn pectoral, but he could be a finbiter, who knows haha

Sept 8, 2017.... Just picked up our dog from grooming/bath service, with groomer Ashlie or Halie, they dont put name o groomer on receipt. Took our own shampoo earhbath oatmeal&aloe shampoo which we love because of the aroma she has after her bath. It was a new bottle. Got her home she smelled just the same as we took her in. She runs all day and the dog smell gets a little hard to take so bath time. There was no shampoo taken from the bottle and I think she just rinsed her off. I called and the groomer I spoke with is the one supposedly gave her bath. Told her and she said I did wash her for 90 seconds and washed off. Told of the smell and all she said was, "oh sorry about that". Terribly disappointed have taken her there several and this groomer is not telling truth. So do not let her do your pet she is not a truthful person. $37.99 later at least the rest seems ok but now Sadies left ear is bent over and dont know why.....dplace not recommended!

The customer service at the Aurora CO location is very poor. I witnessed staff lacking patience with customers, standing outside smoking and lately I had to request a staff member make an annoumcement over the PA to get assistance in certain departments. I took my puppy to be groomed at this location and she was not able to eat for two days and stopped walking on the second day. When I called I was told to bring her in ASAP when I arrived at 2:15pm on July 5th the rude young lady told me she was unaware of the emergency, she had nothing to do with the grooming department and I would have to wait a minimum of two hours . I contacted the manager on duty, he apologized and sent me to the Petsmart on Chambers and Parker he told me they would be able to take me ASAP which wasnt true I had to wait an hour. At least they were polite and professional.

First and foremost, they lost my reservation for my 2 small dogs. Luckily they were able to take one of my dogs. I knew they were going to need to shave his long hair because he had some really bad knots from the snow and wet weather. But they did a total hack job on him. He is uneven and even has random super long hair that they totally missed. On top of this horrible hair cut, they were unnecessarily aggressive with him. He was terrified and as my fiance watched from the other side of the glass, he said that they handled him very hard and forced a lot of movement even thought the pup wasnt fighting them (because he was shaking and totally scared). We have 3 dogs that we will never bring to this location. They are over priced and truly do not care about your dog. SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR DOG THE TROUBLE AND DONT GO HERE EVER!!!

At a certain level, a national chain like PetSmart is going to be pretty similar regardless of which store you walk into, and the convenience of this location is the main factor in my frequent patronage there. That being said, this location is staffed with some of the nicest people Ive ever had the good fortune to encounter. They are helpful, polite and go above and beyond to make sure you get what you need. They even go beyond the bounds of their official duties to help out somebody in need, as I found out after I walked out of the store and found that my car wouldnt start. One of the cashiers took it upon herself to go around the store asking all the other employees if anybody could give me a jump. A nurse at the vet office offered up jumper cables, and a groomer offered her car. Truly an awesome staff here.

Edit: Since my initial review, everything has been great and Ive never had any issues with pickup orders anymore. I also like that their aquatics department is better kept than most of these big chain stores including other PetSmart locations. This is the closest PetSmart/PetCo to me, so I tend to shop here a decent amount for my cats and my new fish. I think that its a pretty average chain store. I took another star off though because the last time I had an online order for pickup here, they lost my order and the manager was out. So I had to return a couple hours later to pick up my online order.

Store associates were atrociously unhelpful. Gave me incorrect information on Zebra Danios being safe with my betta in a 5 gallon tank. Unfortunately he (the beta) is now dead from being bitten by the danios. To top that off the woman checking is out was spaced out into another dimension and could not correctly type the upc of the fish in. We had to get the UPC for her off the fish tanks. Twice. And she double charged us on a bag of rocks even tho I clearly showed her on screen and explained to her. She basically ignored everything I was saying. Literally said nothing. I will not return.
