Probably safer to steer clear of these folks. We buy a lot of modern furniture and like to support "the little guy" when we can. However I would have to say go to Design Within Reach or another larger more professional & experienced operation. My sense is that Stardusts intentions are good -- I certainly think the owners must have good taste -- just based on the items theyve selected for their store. But unfortunately they are that kind of "absentee" owners -- and the place is understaffed and on auto-pilot. My wife and I bought two Carl Hansen chairs via their website. We dont live full-time in the apartment where they were going -- and the communication was just terrible. We could never figure out when they were going to come -- and couldnt plan our travel schedule due to lack of info. When wed call -- wed get some 1980s answering machine and wonder if anyone was actually home. The last straw was when the first contact we get is the delivery crew -- with no warning they are coming -- and when we get down to the street they have our $6k USD black finish chairs fully unwrapped and sitting on the bare concrete on the sidewalk. Nice guys. But they bang the legs on the door frames and elevator all the way to our loft. And were thinking "why didnt they keep these wrapped until they made it to the loft?" Just like every other place we order from? Youve been warned.

I had purchase a very unique wall lamp, which I can only get thru Stardust. One day I hit it by accident and broke one side. I emailed Stardust asking if they can sell me just one side of the wall lamp. I got a quick response with a quote on how much it would cost and within a week or two I received it. I was helped by Nikki, whom was awesome with responding to emails and helping me get what I wanted. Nikki was great with updates before, during and after I received my purchase. I have purchase from Stardust before , great products and great customer service.

I purchased 4 Herman Miller side chairs from this store and I love them. The color selection is amazing and I took forever to pick a right color but the person who was helping me was patient and pleasant through all of my dealings. I also bought a George Nelson bench. It is very simple and understated, but elegant. The store carries many brands from Europe. I am interested in a rug which was a collaboration of Tord Boontje and Nani Marquina. I saw the sample at the show room and I think that will be my next purchase.

I ordered a Moooi Random Light from Stardusts website as a Floor Sample Sale item. There was a billing mix-up which they handled flawlessly. Definitely hassle free on our end. My wife and I will continue to watch their site and blog because they have an excellent selection of modern offerings.
