11/23/14 I dropped off my husband for a party in Sebastopol and looked forward to having a couple of hours to myself. I dont really like shopping, but used clothing stores always have unique finds that you dont see in department stores. Aubergine was my first stop of the afternoon. I found myself staring at a $5 rack of shirts and skirts out front and picked out two shirts to try on. There was also a rack of holiday sweaters and jackets, and lots of mens clothing. I went inside the large building and was shocked at how packed it was. Really well organized though, which is surprising due to the size! There was a long rack of lingerie, rows of cowboys boots, and a denim section in the back which neatly folded pairs of jeans and even cut-off shorts. Jeans are separately by their style and by their size. I found two new(ish) pairs of jeans in my size and tried them on in an adorable fitting room with lace curtains. They both fit me perfect ($15 each). At the register I found a couple of cute bracelets ($6-7) and a friendly cashier who even remember to ask for my ID (like it says on the back of my credit card). I ended up only taking one of the shirts home, and Im definitely wearing it to my in-laws on Thanksgiving day (yeah, its that awesome!) My only complaint about the store is that its very dark - maybe the tall ceilings make it hard to illuminate the place better, but it was hard to really look over the clothing, even in the dressing room. As I drove away, I saw that they were setting p in the parking lot next door for music later in the evening. Seems pretty neat that the town of Sebastopol has a Sunday evening music venue. Especially at such a cool store.

I just spent over $50.00 at Aubergine in Sebastopol just to have the cashier dump all of my personal belongings out of my purse onto a messy pile of store merchandise she had been sorting through and tell me that my stuff was store merchandise and that she was going to keep it. All of the stuff was brand spanking new from other shops. Aubergine is a vintage shop so nothing even looked like it could possibly have come from their store. She finally gave me my stuff back and rushed me out of the store. Once I got home I realized that she had not returned all of my stuff to me. Im so mad. How rude and unprofessional can you possibly be? The whole time I was nice while this girl treated me like a thief. And in the end, whether intentional or not, she ended up stealing from me! My friend who witnessed all of this and I will never be shopping here again and I will be sure to tell other people about this infuriating experience.

I would have a more positively optimistic view of the place if the owner were a respectable and honest person. I would not spend a dime at this place after the financial, emotional and sometimes sexual abuse that the owner has inflicted on my friends that have worked and frequented this establishment. I do not like to be negative, the customers and staff are great but there is a dark side to this place that people should know about. If you dont believe me, i ask you with respect and regard to the Sebastopol community to take a minute and research the people who have been hurt. Just look at Facebook and wacco.bb and there are numerous accounts.

I stopped in last week as I got off of work for a bite to eat, and the food was great! considering the laid back cafe atmosphere, and the drink discounts, for happy hour alone this place is wonderful! They had some great live jazz playing there for free too with a baby grand piano! you cant beat the atmosphere, and some of the beers they have on tap are amazing too... Id give it more stars if i could! Truly excellent. and the vintage ambiance is a nice touch too.

Paid 25$ to see rapin 4tay. Waited until 1am (last call) to see him, jt, and San quin. They no showed. We asked for a refund. Were ignored in the most condescending way possible. Aubergine, your staff and your bartenders are TERRIBLE!!! All of you should feel ashamed.

Really cute stuff BUT they dont weed out stained/torn items. A stained shirt costs the same as an unstained shirt. Its also dark so you really have to look. Good place for festival looks.

Neat and stuffed with items for women and men, although womens items are more plentiful. Reasonable prices and fun to shop around. Everything is priced and sized clearly.
