The service here is very erratic. It was thought when the last incompetent manager was transferred out with his nazi team that service would improve but the new staff is proving to be just as bad. On a recent visit pointed out to a member of management that some product was expired on the shelf (Nov. 2015) and that they had more of this on the shelf. They thanked me in a flat tone and took the item that I had nearly bought. Thinking "ok that was my good deed" I bought my other items and left. The next evening my friend and I came back to shop and passing that item I noticed it was full again. Curiously we checked the items and noticed everything had the same expiration date as the one I had first turned in. Reporting it to a different manager they at least took the items and removed the labels off them to prevent restocking. Still...we are now double checking what we buy because the impression is they dont bother cycling the old for the new. Buyer beware

This Safeway in Scotts Valley is one of my favorite supermarkets. I go to Safeway because of good selection, good Safeway Club prices, very courteous and helpfull staff. I would give Safeway in general a higher rating if the everyday prices were more competitive. For example Sumanos bakery goods cost more at Safeway than at most other supermarket chains and smaller grocery stores. I have the same experience with most produce. If the items are on sale Safeway has very competitive prices. Checkers are efficient and friendly.

I used to do most all of my shopping at this Safeway, but after the chain was bought out by private equity firm (Cerberus) in 2015, the selection and pricing policies have changed, and not for the better. The place is now generally more expensive than the Nob Hill (Raleys) across the street so this latter has become my primary market. I go to Safeway for a few specific items, particularly if theyre featured in my "Just4U" card. I think the Nob Hill has gotten more crowded, so possibly others are doing the same thing as me.

They suck the only reason I went there few couple of times because theyre open late and i should start shopping early for groceries so I dont have to go to that horrible place, the people that work there suck also and they look and act like they hate their life, which they probably do..

Here I am standing in a long line again! What happened to threes a crowd?? Theres not even an express lane open so here I am with 4 items behind three people doing the whole weeks shopping. I keep saying dont give me time in line to write a bad review

The lighting is always kinda dark. Always crowded, pretty good on produce, better selection than Nob Hill. Lines take too long when it is busy. Its a mini Safeway, so if thats what you expect, you wont be surprised..

The store was nothing more than decent. Until I reached the floral department, it was beautiful, the service was amazing. I got all I asked for and more! Very pleasurable experience!

Never have enough cashiers and the ones they do have are always so slow. One in the express lane is always rude to me or other customers when Im there.

Employees do not go out of there way to be helpful and the guys working the meat department are especially hard to find and not very forthcoming.

If you absolutely must go to Safeway and you live in the valley, this one is way better than the Felton location. Cleaner, friendlier and bigger.

Was informed they were closing at 12:50...... 24 hours is a f-ing joke not only that but the employees are rude.
