I went to look for a baby monitor system but was quickly turned down by the man and lady at the front counter but I thought they did have a few last time I visited no I was told I was mistaken so I decided to look anyways but after only a few short seconds I said isnt that a baby monitor system right there? Sincerely asking. Without even turning around the lady said ya. Oh ok can I see it and what is the price range from due to noticing that they actually had a couple different systems. they were really snobby and told me the price so I decided to go with the cheaper one I had decided to myself anyway but I wanted to no that the quality was gonna be good but the lady stood over three feet from the counter and said absolutely nothing I had asked so I mentioned I wouldnt mind reading the back of the box myself she stopped talking set it back on the shelf behind the counter and proceeded to turn and completely ignore me. I kinda weirded out was like ok I guess I will just go back to Wal Mart then. I would have just left but my older mother said she was tired and she would just get the few things she needed. I was just wandering over to the water shelf when I noticed a few different workers being overly helpful so I went outside and long behold the cops were out side I was frisked proven to be a valid customer and from the cops was told that they wont shop there being accussed of stealing aint no joke I dont know if they accuse everyone that looks different like that but I have told several family and close friends about it and no one I no will shop there for anything anymore kinda funny that they think I am a customer that they didnt want but after the business goes into the toilet I bet they will be begging for my and my group of family and friends money.... Who is laughing now I dont judge and I am successfully accomplished maybe they should do some real soul searching and do like the founders used to and like while I was growing up we were treated. U treat everyone with the same respect until they prove not to deserve it.

I really want to give it 3.5 stars but thats not an option. Ive been going to GTM since the 90s. Over the years Ive seen the prices increase a lot. The prices are high enough now that I dont bother to shop unless theres a percentage off sale for a particular item I want, or I have a 20%+ coupon. The prices are only slightly lower than Costco on like items (sometimes they are even higher). Wouldnt be that big an issue if the items were new. Very rarely thats the case though. Most the bigger items are returns, so the merchandise quality is really hit and miss. Most the employees are up front about them being used/returns, but Ive heard a few selling electronics blatantly lie saying the item was new sealed (when it wasnt, GTM has there own shrink wrapper to make things look new). Honestly, I end up returning 30%+ of the more expensive items I purchase. You just cant really tell about items in store. The food items i tend to stay away from. Some are near/past expiration/freshness dating, others are just multi-packs someone opened so now they are being sold as individual items. Cleaning supplies seem to be a decent deal. Just watch out when they roll a new cart of stuff out. A hot mess of ghetto, middle aged, rude females will be trampling over one other to get at the carts new deals. All and all I still like the store and stop in occasionally to see it they have anything decent. Santee store is now much nicer than the Lemon grove location (which seems to only get crap now). Just have to know what to expect going in.

This place is great, but ya gotta watch your labels, expiration dates, and inspect products from damage or missing parts Before purchasing. Hint: ALWAYS keep your receipts, and if you can the tags until you are sure everything is up to par with you. GTM sells slot on nearly expired ( some get shoved back & lost in the shelf that they are already expired) , pre opened and or returned items from Costco, Sprouts, other health food and grocery stores as well as electronics furniture kitchen supplies like appliances home improvement etc. You can find almost ANYTHING here. Santee location just added a very small frigerated section, we got some great kefir, yogurt and milk. Shop wisely, keep proof of purchase and enjoy! This is not a place for those who want everything simple and at Thier fingertips. You often gotta hunt and dig for thing. One BIG downside is that recently the Santee store was invited with food pantry moths, so we stopped buying cereals and grains from this one store. Sometimes their cereal was rancid even tho the expiry was a year away. Be careful, but enjoy the immense discounts.

You want to find a cheaper cost of living in San Diego? Heres your answer. No joke. For the thrifty shopper, GTM cant be beat! Incredible prices on quality items. You can find clothing, groceries (everything but fresh produce), household items, electronics, furniture, etc. When it comes to groceries, there are many excellent product, including organic options. There are ALWAYS coupons, which you can access from the GTM website and simply show on your smartphone at checkout (or print them out beforehand if youre old-school). There are also weekly specials (no coupon required), and frequently weekend super-sales. Be prepared to pay for these incredible princes and selection with your time: the checkout can take a while, especially on the big sale days. And also be advised that the return policy is ONLY 30 DAYS, and you MUST have your receipt. (Though you can buy with assurance because EVERYTHING is refundable within the 30 days EXCEPT undergarments and swimsuits).

Convenient location. Easy parking. Huge clothes selection. Big area for furniture and rugs, too. ALWAYS go to their website first to grab the latest coupon.... you can often get 25% off a huge item and save lots of money. Imagine getting 25% off a cabinet that would retail for $800, but GTM has it for $400... youd save $100, making it cost only $300. Deal!!!! Im not a big fan of their grocery aisles, but their misc items and household good are fair.

This place would be awesome if anything was actually discounted! I walked in thinking this place was going to be amazing because I heard they had a lot of Costco items (which they did!) I quickly started noticing that almost ALL of the stuff was the same price and in many cases MORE than what Costco sold them for! Are you kidding me??? This place is a joke, dont waste your time unless you like over paying for things!

This location used to be cleaner but has really let go of that standard. Not the cleanest and customer service was very forgettable. Products are sort of tossed around all over the store. Really busy during the weekend and usually can a 20% discount through their website. Not the most enjoying shopping experience, but will suffice if your looking for a somewhat good deal.

Its a great bargain hunting store and much bigger than you think because of the back area that they have. It is a little chaotic and sometimes way more stuff so some finding deals or items can be tougher and you really have to work and getting to some items because they may be buried under other boxes or items of clothing
