This is a pretty good sports store with a good variety of sports equipment at decent prices. Is it great?...no, but its good. I needed a few different athletic and sports things, and I was glad to find that they had everything I needed...the back roller I wanted was even on a good sale. I would have normally given it 3.5 or 4 stars, but almost all of the other reviews on here are so unbelievably whiny and ridiculous, that I felt it deserved to have its average bumped higher. To the person who got the wrong shoe size...why didnt you check the shoes yourself? Its not some boutique shoe store where they cater to you and place the shoe on your foot while you sip a mimosa...take some responsibility and initiative for yourself. And for the person who whined about getting disconnected on the phone...$#!% happens, STFU. Maybe they had 3-4 incoming calls and accidentally bumped you...happens all the time at many places. No reason to leave a vindictive 2-star review for a simple mistake, and you obviously never bothered to get back on the review and follow up. As for the other people who just made generic comments about being rude...since you couldnt leave any actual description about why you didnt like them, Im sure you had some ridiculous demand about wanting to return muddy shoes or something that they wouldnt accommodate. If you want exceptional customer service and a first-class shopping experience, go to the Promenade or Beverly Hills. If you need decent running shoes or some other generic equipment for an okay price and dont want to drive far, Big 5 will do fine.

I got 2 stars in because I havent been there yet. I was just on the phone with them though and a good 5-7 minute wait and---------- I got disconnected. The guy on the phone put me on hold to look up the price for an air mattress pump. So I dialled the number again and this time a girl answered. I told her I was on hold and got disconnected and she said, "were you calling for the air pump?" then gave me the price for it. I wondered, were they making out there or something? Anyway, Ill be down there in a few so when I get back, it could be a star or two less, maybe. Well see.

It took me over 45 minutes to buy an airsoft gun. I expected to be in and out of the store in just a few minutes, instead I had to ask an employee to find someone to show me the airsoft guns and then waited for over a half hour just for someone to come unlock the cases, who knew nothing about the products and didnt even know which key to use or where the co2 cartridges were and then they couldnt figure out how to charge me. I dont know how they can sell real guns here. At least all the people there were nice.

Plenty of parking available and a good selection of items given the size of the store. Minimal selection of bikes however there is a pretty healthy selection of camping and fishing gear. Excellent pricing on a variety of shoes. And theres usually a coupon or promo code available online.

The parking lot is large which is really great. The store is too cluttered and feels chaotic. The lack of organization is very frustrating and the employees dont seem to have any idea where products are located. The brand selection is not great either.

Only choice for sporting goods on the west side now that Sports Authority and Sports Chalet are gone. Not near the selection or organization of those other stores but it will generally do in a pinch.
