Amazing car buying experience, all thanks to Mary Murphy! Customer Service: Mary went out of her way to ensure that the car was in the condition and had the features I wanted before I came over from San Francisco. Mary sent over multiple pictures of the car and made sure that it was what I wanted. She went above and beyond to ensure that my transaction was as sooth as possible (I was waiting on a check from my insurance to purchase my car so I had to leave a deposit and come back). Shes incredibly knowledgable of the Volkswagen brand and the features of their cars. Not only did she work with me to come up with a price that I was comfortable with, but she didnt play any games or try to play me around. Shes the kind of person who would send you to another dealer instead of sending you home in a car you dont want. Shes also very intelligent and can hold a good conversation. Keep up the great work, Mary. Car itself: I bought a 2010 VW GTI with around 57k miles on it, and it was in incredible shape. The people at Sonnen took excellent care of the car and sold me a quality vehicle. My previous car was the same make, and model but with half the features. Im very extremely satisfied with the car and have zero buyers remorse or doubts. Not to mention the previous owner had a radar system installed in the car which Im sure was pretty costly. The staff was completely fine with my mechanic coming in and inspecting the car before purchasing it (sketchy dealers wont allow this). Other: The showroom is very clean and cozy. The staff are very friendly and not pushy. The showroom manager, Shaw, is a really nice guy who is also very knowledgable of Volkswagen and is a quality guy. The general manager, Masoud, was very understanding of my financial situation and made the transaction extremely simple and easy for me. Usually Im pretty hard on car salesmen and the used automobile industry, but this has been one of the best car buying experiences Ive ever had. I would gladly recommend Mary and the staff at Sonnen to anyone looking for a quality pre-owned vehicle.

Short version of long story. While purchasing a used vehicle from Sonnen Motors VW in July 2014 I was informed that there was an error with the Carfax report due to a mistake with the odometer reading made by a technician (not from Sonnen) prior to Sonnen acquiring the vehicle. As a result, the DMV had been notified by Sonnen of the error prior to my purchase. I was told by Sonnen staff that the problem would be "fixed" with DMV within a "few weeks" or perhaps a "month or two". Its now 6 mos. later and no resolution with DMV registration and as a result I could not finance the car at a low interest rate due to the Carfax problem. I purchased the vehicle at a much higher interest rate personal loan thinking it would be "short term" because of what I was told by Sonnen management. To make things worse when I called Sonnen management a month after there was no progress with the Carfax issue, the manager told me that I would be compensated for my added expense due to the higher interest rate. Another month went by without any news so I called Sonnen again to be informed that the Sales Manager I had spoken with was no longer working for Sonnen and that because I had no "written agreement" for compensation that they would not be held responsible. I was told this by the same individual that had told me initially that the Carfax/DMV issue would be resolved in a "few weeks or within a month or two." My last correspondence from Sonnen motors management was "you made the purchase knowing the Carfax was an issue" so its not our problem. My advise to customers is get all agreements in writing and never take a sales managers "word". That was my mistake. The actual sales person I purchased the vehicle with was quite courteous and helpful. My problem is with management who I dont trust and therefore would not recommend Sonnen Motors to anyone.

On Sun Sept 18th I was involved in a rear end collision on i80 near W Sacramento. Tues Sept 20th I reached out to Esan Geroux letting him know of my situation, my needs for a new car in my price range. He literally called me and said I have a couple options and we can have you come in this weekend to see them. I agreed. Esan followed up on Sat Sept 24th and let me know that a new, previously owned car came in that would be perfect for me and my children. I set up a time to test drive the 2009 VW Jetta and immediately fell in love. While waiting for the insurance pay out (which happened quickly) Esan had the car cleaned and detailed so when I came into the dealership, on Tues Sept 27th w the payment, OUR car was ready!! We are soooo happy!! Esan made us feel so welcome and respected. I told him what we needed and price range and he had us in our perfect little car within days!!! We couldnt be more happy and would recommend Esan Geroux and Sonnen Volkswagen of Marin to any of my family or friends!!!! Thank you Esan!!!!

I brought my 2014 Passat in for its 20K service. I asked them to check the rear right door for a air leak as wind noise was entering into the cabin. They said they checked and it was normal. When I picked up the car, they did not rotate the tires as i told them to, and when I checked the door, I see a seal sticking out of the door sill- they did not address the issue. The part that really makes me not trust them again is my car was driven 27 miles from when I dropped it off. When I called the service rep, he said the car only shows 15 miles, and the tires were rotated and the door sill taken care of. Non of which was true. He had nothing to say when I mentioned he was not telling me the truth. I have documented the mileage, geo and time stamped the pictures from when I signed the paperwork when picking up my vehicle. I have a Touareg, Jetta, and Passat. was planning on buying a Q5 for my wife from here. None of them will see sonnen again.

Julija, Was so helpful and amazing while buying our new 2016 Golf GTI! She was professional, knowledgable, kind, honest and helped fulfill my new car requirements of cost, heated seats, needing to be a VW and manual transmission. The car has a lot of new tech in it so she ran me through every nuance of the car. Additionally, my husband is very skeptical of car salespeople and dealerships. She was so awesome that he wants to buy his next car from her. If you are looking for a new car here you wont be disappointed and dont forget to ask for juljia as your salesperson.
