I am not generally the outdoor, camping, rock climbing kind of person so I dont have a huge need for most products at REI but do occasionally find myself here. The store is pretty massive and has a great selection of basically anything. Its interesting just too look around. Any time Ive come here for say a backpack or some travel needs theyve had several options to choose from. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, they generally seem confident and interested in what is in the store. The three stars come in because the prices are very high for almost anything. They tend to stock well known brand names (think North Face) and you are definitely paying for the retail location here. Overall a decent store but you can definitely find better deals.

Its a toy store for the outdoorsy person. This is a small store so finding what you need is not guaranteed, even if their online inventory shows it is here. Unfortunately, the online inventory was wrong for what I was looking for, so definitely call ahead and confirm. The staff are well, REI staff here are kind of aloof and a little arrogant, not all of them just some of them and it diminishes the shopping experience. Maybe they are just irritated in dealing with the arrogant REI customer type from this area, and I can see that might be the case here. Ive had a better experience at most any other REI store, with Berkeley being the best stocked and having the best sales people. I am a 30+ year REI member, join and get a annual rebate on purchases.

REI Saratoga is great. Located off Saratoga between Quito and West Campbell Ave in the same parking lot as AMC Theaters. This store is a playground for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. The staff is amazingly helpful all the time. I recently went in for a new day pack for upcoming backpacking trip and the staff got me fitted and out of there with a fantastic new pack. The store is single story layout with everything easily found. If you love the outdoors do yourself a favor and sign up as an REI member. Only one fee of $20 dollars and you get money back on many purchases you make that add up on your annual dividend for you to spend later. My only complaint is I wish REI was closer to home.

I usually get stuff on Amazon, but I needed some good gear quicker than prime would allow. I asked an employee for some advice picking out hiking pants - a subject I didnt put much research into and the employee, Colton, was really knowledgeable and was able to share some of his own opinions and experiences with the products. Though that, I was able to pick out something that Im really happy with. If you like backpacking and the outdoors they also have everything else you would need. I already had most of what I need on that front, but if I ever need to replace anything Im sold on REI bring the place to go as a physical location.

Many things to love about REI! I really like the atmosphere inside the store - it makes me want to stay in there forever! I also really like the staff there, and if you ever need help determining what to buy, theyre always really eager to help. Its always a pleasure to shop there! They also have really nice garage sales, where they have a 70-80% off sale behind the store selling returned gear. They dont do it as often anymore, but its great when they do. Overall, great store!

I was about to purchase a (backpacking) backpack, having no idea what I was doing, and then, a knowledgeable gentleman (employee) stepped into the scene. He helped me make certain the fit was right, before I made the purchase and walked out the front door. I was very happy with his assistance - not letting me ignorantly purchase a pack, only to go home and try to figure it out by my lonesome (which would probably have taken forever).

We end up at this site a wiring amount of times throughout the year. The staff are almost all very useful once theyve got over their required effort to sell you a membership. The kids departments arent massive (they could drop some off the womens selection for more under 14yos in my opinion) Its very rare when I havent been able to find what Im after - or a suitable substitute.

LOVE REI and no other outdoor/sporting store comes anywhere close. So, yes! BIG FAN! But not so impressed with the Staff here. Very few team members have thorough knowledge of the products, most seem amateur when u ask them any technicality questions. With REI, I have always seen high standards except for the staff at this location, so most of the time I end up buying online.

A good sized REI. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who can help you with your purchase. They might not have everything, but they try to cover most outdoor activities like camping, biking, hiking climbing, kayaking and more. Prices are generally standard for outdoor equipment but sales can be a great time to buy. Especially the "garage sale" where they sell returned items.

REI has incredible customer service. I had a great experience buying a child bike seat from REI which required two separate returns (no fault of REIs) and they were extremely professional in handling a complicated situation with defective items, coupons and member dividends applied to the original purchase, and making it right for the customer in the end.

Went to REI with my family on the Saturday of their back room sale. They gave my family one ticket. When it was our turn to go in the room, the REI man said that only the person with the ticked could go in. He did the same thing to many families Many people were upset; not very customer centric. I think he must not have kids.

We love REI so much that we decided to use it for our wedding registry primary choice. All of their gear for outdoor recreation rocks. They keep the best name brands as well as offer their own line of products to give the consumer the best possible value. Our cross country trip this next year is gonna rock because of REI!

When I think REI, I expect phenomenal service. From the handful of employes we interacted with, this REI did not disappoint. A shout out to Brett who answered all of our Fitbit questions and was able to multitask, answer other customers questions, and maintain a level of professionalism that never made us feel neglected.

Who doesnt like REI, this is the best REI in the all of the South Bay (actually the only one in the South Bay) i always try to come here for their monthly garage sales, its always a hit or miss and some people are rude in looking for a good bargain. The staff here at REI is always great and very helpful

Massive store with practically anything you might need for enjoying the outdoors. REI sells their own brand clothing which is decent quality and at a good price point. I have found from personal experience that the other brands sold in the store which the REI brand tries to imitate are better overall.

I am an REI member and went to my first garage sale. I purchased a bike trainer for a great price, however it was missing an important piece so I could not use it. I went to REI and we figured out what piece was missing and they even provided me the new piece for free! It pays to be a member :-)
